Beware - Negligent Property Management Company

Awful management service that has resulted in my being thousands of pounds out of pocket and having to seek legal advice. Bairstow Eves badly mishandled the tenant, who ended up leaving the property and refusing to pay rent. Their contract was so poorly put together that despite significant pet damage to the carpet, repainting several rooms in garish colours, breaking internal fittings (cisterns) and wrecking the garage door, I have had to foot the bill because the takeover of the property was so shoddily handled. Their 6-monthly inspections of the property (which they only carried out because I insisted on it) were negligent and they failed to spot water damage from a leaking boiler, which the tenant had failed to report. Utterly disgraceful company. Do not risk your money - go anywhere else but Bairstow Eves.

Totally let down by tamworth branch

Totally let down by tamworth branch. They suggested I put my furniture and belongings in the out buildings to let the buyers move in and I would collect when my new house was completed in a few days , after leaving the furniture the buyers complained about the contents been left and we met in the estate agents face to face , Aleisha said that I had told her there were just a few items to store and this is what the buyers were led to believe , this is absolute rubbish she knew I had a houseful of furniture , she just wanted me out the house . I have had to move all the contents again and been given a court order , it is sitting in storage now and costing me a fortune because of this estate agent .

Be aware! Highly unprofessional and unreliable

This feedback is specifically for Bairstow eves Coventry branch. I would to like share my experience in terms of rental refund for previous property. Their staff is highly unprofessional, untrustworthy and unskilled. I did a complaint at their Nottingham head office but got a response in an apologetic way where they kept on defending their employees and procedures but didn't accept their mistake/errors. The way they calculate rental refund doesn't align with the practices of other agencies. They do not have any documentation or method to back their procedures. I would suggest that whenever the staff from Coventry commits something with you, please ask them to take notes on the system and email you with evidence. They have a different tone when they want something from you, and a different when you request them something. They forget things and then the tenant suffers in the end. They are so unprofessional that they say that the 'relevant staff is not available at this time or on sick leave so that investigation can be carried out\'. Such a disappointment. Be aware!

Worse letting agency I ever had

We've been renting with them for 3 months.The moving date was known 1 month before we actually arrived and on the actual date the beds were not even there, one of the bathrooms had to be fixed and today is still not ready as is leaking downstairs and had fire brigade to jump in from the windows while not at home 3 times.In the pre-letting agreement, we were supposed to get some furniture, which we still don't have.The personnel of the agency is not helping either. Really disappointing.

Renters beware!! Ensure you request a clean property!

Viewed a property and despite the mess accepted the property accepting that it would be cleaned when the tenants left. It wasn’t. Move in day was a nightmare, food left in fridge, open tins and all, place filthy, urine around toilet seats, utterly filthy. Bairstow Eves response was it was my fault as I should have requested it to be cleaned as a prerequisite of taking to property. I’ve never heard of anywhere that you have to request it be handed over in a habitable state. Unacceptable!

A review of the romford branch

A review of the romford branch. We have been with Bairstow eves / county wide for several months. In the period we have had many issues. Of times of four viewings booked and one or none actually turn up, never a follow up call on the Monday after the non show of viewers. Management change in the period didn’t change the situation. We’ve had never had an agent actually attend the property with a potential buyer. We were suspicious that the majority of the viewings are actually fake. As every time we threaten to move away from Bairstow they seem to find more viewings all over the weekend when they’re unavailable to speak to about the no shows. Many many ruined weekends waiting for these potential buyers is tiresome at the very least. Especially if you only get weekends off from your work. Poor Service

Recently I made an appointment to view two property for buying. In order to book the appointment I had to submit mortgage deed and other necessary documents, only after viewing this document they ll allow you to book the property for viewing. I understand its their rules and regulation and I have to obey. All documents had been verified and my appointment booked a week before. On the day of the appointment, the agency people came but they took the wrong key for the first house and I was like that's ok we ll rearrange for viewing and I asked can we move to the next property, they mentioned they hadn't got the keys for the second property as well. I lost my patience here, they check a lot of documents to book an appointment and they forgot the main things that is needed for a house. They needs to work on this in rules and regulation before question buyer a lotPoor customer service, very bad experience right from the start of booking appointments. Never suggest this agency to my friends either for letting or buying a property

Appalling service and bad…

Appalling service and bad communication. Do not use their estate agents Countryside as they are worse and you get charged for extras not even heard of and I worked in conveyance solicitors just thieves and bad service. You can never get hold of them either. Baistow Eves also lied about reasons for delay as covering themselves. Use professional estate agent and local solicitors lesson learned!!

Bairstow Eves Atherstone branch is absolutely shocking if there was an option to leave no stars I would as 1 star in my opinion is generous. The staff are nothing but liars right from the point of instruction. We were messed around passed from pillar to post. We did 99% of the work ourselves. In the end we got that annoyed with their constant excuses we took the house off the market and sold it privately. Now 1 year down the line they are pursuing us for the £3000 fee because we sold within the 6 month clause what an absolute joke. Avoid at all costs.

Bairstow eves Gidea Park an absolute joke. Three people handling the case of a 76 year old lady waiting to get into a retirement home having moved up from Devon. Staying with daughter who’s given up her bed. Michael Simpson been contacted and aware of situ. Promised weekly updates as the ‘vendor’ doesn’t want him to pass on details.Approx 6 months later can’t even return phone calls as office has permanent answer phone. Obviously vetting their calls. So frustrating as this elderly lady is a recent widow which in itself is enough. I’m honestly disgusted with Bairstows customer service . I wouldn’t use them if they were the last estate agents on this Earth. NO INTEGRITY!!!!

I have to say that I found the staff at the Collier Row branch extremely helpful and professional when acting for us in our house move. We were kept informed every step of the way and could always contact someone at the branch if we needed to. I would recommend them. HOWEVER, I would NOT recommend their conveyancers at Countrywide who I believe are part of the same company. They were obstructive and I felt made our house move as difficult as they could. I foolishly believed that the conveyancer was there to assist with the move and offer advice but it was up to the client if they took that advice. We found ourselves in a situation where the conveyancer refused to complete the sale unless we took their advice! I found them totally unprofessional, petty and arrogant and obstructive to say the least. I would recommend Bairstow Eves at Collier Row as they worked extremely hard at resolving the many issues but think very carefully if they suggest Countrywide for your conveyancing as it could take forever!

Terrible company, absolute set of charlatons. They scam you during tenancy by making up false issues which they cannot backup with proof, and then when I ended my agreement with them it's been 5 weeks of promised deposit return and nothing received. I have just had the phone put down on…

I have just had the phone put down on me by the manager from Bairstow Eves in Colindale to view a property. I was ringing to view the property with the view of buying without a chain with a mortgage already in place. The manager was extremely rude on the phone and asked very unnecessary intrusive questions then started shouting and put the phone down on me. I am extremely shocked from the persons manner and lack of interpersonal skills. This is unacceptable. Do not waste your time with this company!

Worst estate agents ever

This has to be the worst estate agents on the planet. With the manager being one of the worst things, he doesn't know basic things his own staff have to correct him and the communication between them is horrendous. These people handled our property situation very badly which later led us to withdraw from the whole thing. Don't let them trick you into going with their solicitors countrywide. They are absolutely useless and the estate agents will state that the solicitors are quick but they charge close to 2k and cant even reply to an email quick enough because apparently "they don't have enough staff". Their knowledge of a property is so bad that you can't really ask questions because they really don't know no basic knowledge of it. In this particular branch they have a lady working who's name I do not know. Its not Jade she's great but another lady who is really rude, she's reluctant to give updates on property situations and will talk to you like she's better than you. Please avoid them but if you have to then be cautious and don't take their word for anything expect the worse because they have the worst working there.

I will never use Bairstoweves

I will never use Bairstoweves! Me and my partner have put offers on 2 different properties and both times Bairstoweves ruined it for us! First time we had an offer accepted, we were about to start paying for checks but they then got a higher offer and pushed the venders to accept. Second time we offered £2,000 over asking price, their offer was under asking price and they again pushed the vender to go with them!! They are forceful, rude and just an awful company! Do not recommend at all! They have knocked our confidence right down AGAIN and now worried they are going to wreck it for us AGAIN. Stay clear of them! Thanks a lot.

Simply awful.

I’m Been with bairstow eves for two years and I and my husband are not happy and nor was the landlord. 1. Fees are an absolute rip-off. Nearly £2000 up front for... I'm not sure what... £700 deposit fair enough... one month's rent fair enough... but nearly £600 in fees you are joking? Other letting agents in the area it's around £250! 2. They lied to us. When we first signed up we asked if there would be a tenancy renewal fee. They said no. Lo and behold 11 months later they ask for £120! And then phoned us several times over the month asking us to pay it even though we said we would pay it on a specific date. 3. They don't fix things. When looking at the property we were promised they would fix a fence panel. We contacted them once a month for three months and no response. We fixed it ourselves. 4. Our cooker broke and they took days to contact the landlord. 5. They phoned us the day before to schedule something, hubby took the day off and they didn't show! 6. Contacted them many times and they just don't fix things! That's IF they answer. 7. The office is seemingly run by kids who really know very little. They didn't even understand how a marriage certificate proved change of name or even spell the name correctly.

Absolutely appauling

Absolutely appauling! All of the Nottingham offices lack communication. Left for weeks being told that they would remove the property off the market for you, to be told after escalating to the manager that there is an application already going forward. Left in the dark throughout it all and no apologies or even regards towards us for this. Making excuses and passing it on between different branches. Absolutely awful, will not be renting through these agents again!
