Misleading ads regarding road noise

I really regret (start with the first day moved in) that buying a flat that was supposed to be noisy but quiet during the special Covid-19 lockdown period. Bairstow Eves' ads described the road of the community itself to be quiet (their wording is "a quiet residential road"), however, the real position of the flat is actually facing a busy main road (unstopping traffic from 6 am to midnight). The existing double-glazed window is not a perfect solution, and only can reduce around 10db. For the consequences of suffering from the traffic noise, I moved to my office desk to the corridor since the living room and bedroom both face to the main road, and I also developed long-running tinnitus which last for hours and causes me to seek for medical and mental health help. Regarding fixing solutions, I have tried ear plugs, noise cancelling headset, noise cancelling curtain, etc. Although the whole purchasing experience is also very daunting and could be common, however, Bairstow Eves’ misleading information on road noise on me is the most unacceptable thing.

I call Bairstoweves regarding a flat that was advertised for less than 24h ( after 5 pm, and I called 09:40 am) They did not even ask me which flat I am enquiring about or the area, she just told me that is not available and hang of the phone. They either do fake advirtasement or judge people by their accents, sad and shameful.

BE Purley, Incompetent, Irresponsible

Disinterested, uninformed, dismissive. Is how I would describe the "Fully managed" lettings service at the Purley branch. At one point I was asked to Google the answers to my questions. As I was an overseas landlord, I relied on the agency to alert me about issues at my property in a timely manner. Big mistake. They were usually months late to pick up any issue by which time I had heard about it from other sources and sorted it out. Also, someone whom I have never met or spoken to at the branch completely misled my tenants as to how long I was likely to be away and consequently how long they could expect the Let to be. Irresponsible and unprofessional. I had complained through the company's complaints process due to a litany of omissions on their part and they offered me £50 to close the matter. Really? If you do go with this company please be prepared to do all the work yourself.

Dont' use these, use an agent that keeps to their word and respects your property.

Used Bairstow Eves for a sale on our rental property in Basildon. Came across as very professional at first and promised to keep us in the loop at every stage, in fact after the initial memo of sale sent through we never heard from them again, I had to do all the chasing and updates with the solicitor myself, including sorting out queries. What made it even worse that as this was an empty property we paid for a service with BE to carry out the viewings themselves and give them keys. A month later when we were able to return to the property every single light in the property was left on, this has now left us with a substantially inflated electricity bill to pay on completion. I complained to them about this twice but they have not even had the decency to respond to my e mails. Wouldn't recommend these and would never use them again.

WORST RENTING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

DO NOT EVER rent with this Branch (Bow, London)!!!From top to bottom these people are CROOKS who will try and CON you out of more rent or property management fees! They will happily ‘sell’ you a property and take your money and that is where their ‘customer service’ ends.They are difficult to get hold of if you have a problem, blame the landlord for their slowness in replying, with one occasion we were left without hot water and heating for over a week!!!! They don’t take note of any faults within the property upon the very rare inspections they conduct.Then there’s the issue with check out and inventory checks in order for you one leave the property and two have any chance of getting your deposit back.Whether it’s Bairstow Eves or Countrywide no one is willing to take responsibility for anything or help you get to the bottom of a problem regarding leaving. One woman had the audacity to tell me I had to contact another employee within the company to get an email to prove the date on which the landlord had agreed to let us leave prompting the following response “I don’t actually know what any of you get paid to do?”It honestly beggars belief as to the sheer incompetence of a nationwide company.So do not trust a word Karl, Nick, Sam or anyone else with in this company says to you, get everything in writing and Keep all correspondence.

Clapham Junction Branch - Do not trust this company **Disappointed**

I had taken on this company by mistake of another company, anyway when I realized this I still went ahead with them. Now my problem with this company is the tenants paid the rent on the Saturday 14th February 2021, by bank transfer.Now, I called bairstoweve and deliberately spoke with the Manager Ryan on Friday 19th February, so that I could get to the bottom of why I had not received the rent as yet. Ryan told me that he would contact their accounts team and get back to me but he never did.I called his office 2.30 half hours later only to be told that he had left for the day. Another colleague said they would contact Ryan and he said he will call me back or someone would call me back that day. Which they did not, nor did anyone call me back the next day Saturday. It is not a lot to want to find out why I have not received the rent 7 days after they received the money from the tenants.

This company is a joke, I wouldn’t recommend anyone renting from them. They took our £140 holding fee before we had even filled in any application forms. Then when we were told we hadn’t been successful I expected the £140 back back but no. Over a week later & still not had any money back. They don’t answer their phones or call you back. I’ve left messages every single day but their rude incompetent staff never ever get back to me & they STILL have our £40. KEEP AWAY FROM THEM IS MY ADVISE
