Avant blames home owners for the irresponsible behavior

My Boiler could have been in a full warranty if Avant & the subcontrator had registered with the Boiler manufacturer within 30 days of boiler installation (manufacturer recommends this to avail full 7 yrs of warranty period). I bought the house 6 months post installation and Avant northeast customer service says its the home owner responsibility. They failed to do a procedure and do not own to the mistake instead keep giving excuses like Home Owner responsibility (which is invalid reason).

Bunch of Bandits, but you can have the last laugh

I can only give you our experience of this absolutely awful company. The lies they come out with are laughable, (sales manager and regional site manager). I did write a review after the little regional site manager attended our property, after that it was slow to get things done, I was told the review didn't help me. So be prepared for little fat power mad minions to attempt to make your life a misery, be strong, check and note everything they say and follow it up with an email with lots of details. They don't like people with a back bone. The house is okay now however I wouldn't suggest anyone purchase from Avant, I certainly would not recommend them and like many others would give minus stars if I could. They promise the world take money, don't complete the job and try to fob you off. I kept meticulous details and photos of the build from start to finish, eventually dealt with the NHBC who gave me a four figure sum to solve issues Avant avoided, more fool Avant, causes them grief when the NHBC payout. Ha ha ha, me thoroughly enjoying the last laugh.

Aftersales service is horrendous

Aftersales service is horrendous. Have to make numerous calls/emails before you get a response and they look for any excuse to not resolve an issue. They didn't even response to a formal complaint I submitted. They built my garage without a damp proof membrane so water flooded in from my neighbours garden which was higher than the floor level of my garage. Nearly a year after I complained about this and Avant had promised to resolve it, my neighbours put down paving in their garden. Avant used this as an excuse to not do the work, blaming the neighbours. Cowboy company who don't care about their customers once they have their money

Extremely Disappointed With Avant Homes I Trusted Them With My Money To Buy A Family Home And Have Been Left Upset With A House Filled With Snags.I Email Them For 6 Months Straight And Get No Where.Customers Services are Down Putting After Many Emails Asking Them For Help To Fix Things I Get Very Short Reply's Back Thanking Me For My Email With No Mention Of Any Help. I Then Complained Into Avant Homes And Was Told To Take my Concerns To Nhbc.Which I Did After Another 6months Of Emails To Avant Explaining I Was Ina 2 Year Warranty With Avant Homes To Fix Snags.Without Any Staff Even looking Into My Concerns I Was Told Via Email The Home Passed Habitation And Again Take My Concerns To Nhbc,I Was Also Told I Signed The House Off On First Day I Moved In,But I Was Told By Avant Staff On The Day They Would Fix All The Issues In The 2 Year Warranty,Thats Why I Signed.Since Speaking To Nhbc I Have Been Told Nhbc Cant Do Anything Until Avants 2 Year Window Is up So I Have To Live With This For Another 1 Year,And My Friends Have Told Me To Fix Myself Because Nhbc Is Apparently The Same Attitude.The homes are handed over unfinished They Promise To Sort Their Mistakes & build to a low standard throughout. there customer service team is non existent and useless.THEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL. How this company gets away with this is beyond a joke.

MORE ISSUES WITH REFUSAL TO HELP

kitchen units bubbling after 6months of moving in. Been in 15months and now refusing to come and sort even though technicians and one of the boss’s said they are not right. Tried blaming us for not pulling a kettle and toaster out from under the units but this is not even the part that is bubbling. The worst experience ever! Keep your money instead of giving it to these! The quality of build and materials are absolutely shocking! They don’t show for appointments made or cancel at very short notice after waiting nearly 8 months! Absolutely disgusting! Don’t know how they are still in business

Mind Blowingly Bad Terrible Frustrating Company Avant Homes is Taking Advantage Of Customers!!Firstly before i continue with my review after reading other reviews on here, Its very noticeable that the 5 star reviews for avant homes are not real genuine reviews...there definitely is a clear pattern strangely of customers who have left 5 star reviews after only visiting the sales office??? Without even purchasing a house or anything at all from avant homes they come home and write a 5 star review about apparently helpful staff..massive red flagSecondly my house is a shambles of mess from defects top to bottom which to cut a long story short i was assured by avant homes after paying £300,000 odds they would rectify all the problems the house had but they have failed to do this even after a long battle of tennis messaging emails back and fourth.the problems are endless i have hired a building surveyor and professional snag management company specialising in snags for new build.Both reports detail the house is below standard and defected in many areas. I have taken avant homes to small courts already and won our case for our front door being that badly fitted it was a security risk against any home insurance policy.1 year later im still waiting for avant homes to come out and fix it.In court avant homes representative was asked to give a timescale on sorting the door which they legally agreed to be done in immediate timescale. like said 1 year has now passed and after speaking to avant homes this week i have been told there is no record on my avant property records for a door to be fixed and i was told if i am not happy to take it up nhbc.also to find out the rest of my snags have been signed off as completely.just to clarify here there saying someone has been out to fix the issues and has reported by to avant homes that these s called snags have been done which is impossible and 100% not the case. most of the snags havent even been looked ta by avant homes yet but they have been signed off as fixed and completed.what avant homes has done here is create a false record for my file on computer stating the snags have been all fixed, the person from avant homes in charge of file was the same person i complained about.so in total after a very long headache and waiting 30 days between emails from avant homes eah time and paying £300k for a home and being left with a house with issues everywhere i can say this company is shocking.so i called nhbc and they tell me nhbc cant step in intil a certain time limit has went by(to give the house builders avant homes a chance to fix the issues).then once by the time limit i have to meet with nhbc and house builders on site to come to a conclusion of moving forward.what i will say here after experiencing this is avant know exactly what they are doing when it comes to these policy's to not finish off work they should be doing.

Awful aftercare. Stay away

Awful, awful aftercare from Avant homes. We purchased our house in April 21 but the aftercare has been nothing short of embarrassing and poor. We had the head of customer service visit in January and are still waiting for little 'little jobs'.When you chase up you just get ignored. Stay away.We are on Cotchett Village in Mickleover.

Attempted cover up job to Exterior door Cill

What went wrong this time? In a litany of serious defects. Exterior front door cill: was damaged even before we moved in and was reported and should have been replaced. First they sent Plastic Surgeon contractors who cut out the damaged section and made up plastic which has bubbled after 2 months. Now they try to fit an over-cill 'repair' instead of replacing and doing the proper job. This is my THIRD new house..I've never experienced such dismally poor standards.

He gave us fantastic advice on which plots were available and how on the whole development itself and how we can go forward to reserves the plot that we want. The after care customer service we received and the on-site management has been 5-STAR, with excellent response rate. Avant Homes Shelton Village

This relates to a property on Sheltone Village Earl Shilton.I have given Avant 14 months before writing the review. At the start they cant do enough for you upto the point of taking your money and there is no turning back. During the build stage it was often us that had to chase for updates which took the shine off buying a new house off plan... when the house was complete and we were taken down to look around just before exchange they had changed two cupboard doors from nice looking doors in the showhome to awful looking loft hatch metal doors in the wall in the main bedroom and small storage room where a wall was also built making the room half the size of the one in the show home... not once where these changes mentioned at any point during the build. Fast forward living in the house 12 months and we have been ignored on every email sent regarding the snagging issues... other than emails every few month to say the office in charge of the development is changing and to now email another one... funnily with the same out come no plan or dates to resolve our issues... they have just"changed" office yet again and Im not expecting to hear anything more again... it seems its a very good way of running down the 2 year warranty cover as December 23 ours will be up. Our issues are not that major and we can and will more than likely end up resolving them ourselves but there are so many more not just on this development but wider a field who have bigger pressing issues who also seem to be getting no where. The houses themselves are very nice and have no issue with the build... but the customer service in zero for after you move in so please read all reviews before commiting as there are other house builders out there that do seem to care about their customers after they have moved in... our last house was a new build with a different builder and the customer services were outstanding compared to Avant. If you are considering Shelton Village or any of the other sites maybe knock on a few doors and ask Im sure there will be a few stories... just seen one in the local paper for another site where they have waited over 2 years and still no resolve on their issues.Customer services ruins the experience of Avant Homes, buy off another developer if you can.

(Location: Woodyard Park) My house was completed at the end of Jul 2022, and tons of outstanding problems but need to follow up... Some problems were fixed fast but some problems are still outstanding up to now and without a schedule (kitchen doors damaged no replacement; two washroom's pipes in the wall have large ticking sound when open hot water, no technician coming for inspection; ensuite bathroom water condensation dropping water from the exhaust fan, no roof contractor come to fix and Avant homes technician come for painting ceiling only...etc)Avant Homes just care they sell the house and have no after-selling service. They don't care about customers and they deserve to get this rating. ** AVOID THIS DEVELOPER **

AVANT HOMES - SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BUILD

If I could give them a minus or zero I would . Totally shocking company to deal with . Once they have your money they don't want to know you . I got an independent inspector to look at my home at Cotchett village in Derby which ive been in for over 2 years now and I he identified around 70 defects , some big some small , the workmanship is non exsistant .Avant have fixed 1 of them , which was moving the shaver socket in the bathroom to its correct position. I had a leak in the bathroom which took them 8 visits to sort out . Their customer service is non existent and I wished I had read some of the reviews before I brought from them . Please don't make the same mistake I have done . I have managed to put off several people including a family member from not buying from Avant homes .Lots of families on my estate have had similar issues and one homeowner has even put a huge banner on their house for everyone too see about how bad Avant homes are which i expect to see in the local paper anytime soon. If you are going to buy from them , please please get a survey done before you get the keys and make sure they carry out the work correctly. I didn't do this and Avant have lied to me , fobbed me off to the point now where I will be taking them to court and will be posting reviews online about this shocking company . I hope this review helps .

First time buyer with Avant

First time buyer and Avant have helped every step of the way.No new build is perfect however they way they have tackled any issues or even extras we wanted has been amazing. Our snagger found less than average snags on the size of our house and most were just paint errors. The whole process or buying was stress free as moving can be. Used the mortgage advisor Avant recommended, ended up with a good deal as well as constant updates.The on site builders are always happy to help if something goes wrong, such as a mover making a dent in a wall and being fast in fixing snags.Overall we are super happy. We knew a new build wouldn't be without construction issues, however they've been minor and mostly cosmetic.

Just completed on a house after approx 1.5 years. Avant homes has generally been unresponsive, unhelpful and all round shocking throughout. Staff have come and gone and our area got put under a different division but no one ever told us when it happened (mainly because no one ever really replied anyway). Solicitors provided to us were not the best and at one point accidentally got our mortgage cancelled as they didn't elaborate on an email to the lenders. We got rushed into the house as notice was cut down from 10-14 days to only 4 and on seeing it for the first time the garden wasn't turfed, the floor was covered in debris and some of our PAID extras was missing. Staff was shocked we had never been allowed onto site to see our build but never invited us in the first place. After complaining about all our issues a suggestion of free flooring was put out which we're still waiting for them to make good on (didn't buy flooring through them as sales advised it could be gotten cheaper and was told we could get people in to measure and provide quotes before handover to get flooring asap).A star given as the house is generally very nice, just wish that the new build house I'm currently paying for came in a more livable state as I've still not been able to move in.

Avoid this company at all costs!

Avoid this company at all costs, brought a house from Avant homes last year and it’s been a disaster from the minute they took our reservation fee, 6 month delay on the house completion, no communication, rude clueless office staff who are not fit for the job. The house build its self is poor failed the NHBC audit four times, a make shift wooden banister had to be put over the windows because they built them too low, Avant took them down as soon as the house was signed off (Doesn’t sound legal) We’ve had shower trays over flowing because of blocked drains, garage flooding when it rains, fixed windows not installed properly so there are huge gaps letting in a draft, unable to lock front door, cheap not fit for purpose single radiators in all rooms barely keeping the house warm, upgrades we paid a fortune for not being in the house on completion had to fight to get them installed - the list goes on - this list doesn’t even scratch the surface of the pain avant homes have caused, honestly if you’re thinking of buying from these cowboys save your self months of heart ache, stress and expense and buy else where.

Houses are built by cowboys, appalling customer services, houses falling apart on the development.Some of my problems are the french doors not fitted correctly, had a leak thats ruined my kitchen roof due to the leak from the bathroom, i already have black mold which has covered the flooring in the upper bathroom and ruined all the sideboards, grass in the garden is all water logged and uneven, heating and insulation is appalling and is constantly freezing and draughts from all windows and doors. Had issues with flooring in bathrooms and kitchen.(most people have had these or even worse problems within their homes and nothing seems to be done).

Think twice before buying with avant do the research on this terrible company.its been a stressful headache tbh right from buying to now.i have had it with them.customer service is hard work.my 2 years recently finished, iv only had half of the defects to property done.The bigger more eye soaring more important ones were disregarded from avant. nhbc wont touch them either,or taking so long on some matters (2 years on going having to battle my case with them) i have had plumbing issues all through the winter 2022,not just one plumbing issue buts loads here there and everywhere. iv had to remove parts the ceilings and floors to find and solve whats actually happening, avant could not provide any plumbing routes information for my style of house we bought.100% second rate service, outside the house looks ok and inside is a nightmare.i need to replace ceilings floors skirting and pipework,lived without heating.the face book page alone says it all about this company.everyone saying the same thing. Dont Buy.
