GoogleTENANT STAY AWAY! This estate agent allow inventory clerk to perform check out secretly before cleaning organise by(paid by tenant) them been done. which make the check out report looks ridiculously bad. TENANT STAY AWAY! How amazing its when the flat is not being clean, but the report state the condition as professional clean when it is obviously not. Just seems like the independent inventory clerk knows there will be someone coming soon to clean the flat. So that the landlord can received a clean flat as well as allowing them to have a bad looking report for claiming the full deposit.

Yell'LET' DOWN
My daughter and her three housemates faced returning to an uninhabitable accommodation following a flood that caused a ceiling to collapse in the kitchen diner over the summer. The lettings agent told us that the matter was in hand and the tenants could move back in immediately and that the work going on around them would be completed in a few days. This was clearly a false picture of the situation. The students returned to the accommodation to find the boiler had been taken out, so there was no hot water or central heating; there were exposed live wires that the returning workman told them not to touch; the replastered ceiling and walls were still drying; the kitchen could not be used, the upstairs bathroom could not be used, the carpets were filthy; there was no where to sit to eat or to sit communally as the kithcen table and chairs had been packed up in the lounge so both rooms were out of bounds to the four tenants; there was a load of debris discarded in the front garden requiring a skip. So, totally uninhabitable and it clearly represented a breach in the Landlord / tenant contract. When I insisted that Godwin Curtis provide us assurance that they would find temporary accommdation immediaely for the returning students. They declined to do so, but said they would visit and assess the stage of repair. I indicated further action if the end of the day comes and no acceptable solution has been arrived at on the matter. So as it stands, we are expecting Godwin Curtis to do the right thing. Whether or not they do this will be the subject of my next review on here.

GoogleWe recently finished a short term tenancy managed by this company. Before we moved in we were assured that the property would be thoroughly cleaned first but in fact it was absolutely filthy. After a few weeks we found that not all the utilities had been transferred to our name and we were told by this company to do their work for them by making the arrangements ourselves, which we refused to do. All the heating and hot water failed during a spell of cold weather, also there was a sound of leaking water. We were totally dissatisfied by the speed with which this company reacted to this problem which was caused, according to the plumber who eventually turned up, by the fact that the central heating had never been serviced. The only time that anyone came to inspect the property on the landlord's behalf was the day before the tenancy was due to expire. They expressed surprise that we were packed up and ready to leave, apparently because we had mentioned several months earlier that we might request a short extention of our tenancy. They then argued that, as we had not said that we did not require an extension we owed a month's rent in lieu of notice. Needless to say we refused to pay. I have not generally enjoyed my dealings with estate agents over the years, but I found my dealings with Godwin Curtis the least enjoyable of the lot. Not recommended for either landlords or tenants!

GoogleGood experience as a tenant of a flat managed by Godwin Curtis for several years. Previous experience with various different estate agents led me to dislike ever having to deal with them but Godwin Curtis have changed my perception.

GoogleDO NOT bother wasting your time with these people. I couldn't give a scathing enough condemnation of our experience as tenants. Despite multiple wrongdoings on their part that hugely affected our living experience, members of staff still have the gaul to make unfounded accusations to us as tenants, and then when finding this was their own wrongdoing, failed to apologise and continued with the same malicious and arrogant attitude.

GoogleWe're coming to the end of a year long tenancy with Godwin Curtis and this review is the least we could do to thank them for being excellent throughout. They have been one of the best estate agents we have dealt with in Canterbury - particularly regarding any problems with the house which (on a number of occasions) were sorted out by professional tradesmen within 24 hours.

GoogleI had a bad experience with them, Actually, they are cheating students who are studying at the University Of Kent. Please double-check the contract before signing. They remove the cancellation policy from the contract. Please forward information to all students who are studying at any University.
