Craig Thompkins and his team were brilliant

Craig Thompkins and his team were absolutely amazing during our house sale. A simple sale turned into a nightmare as a result of the other solicitors. This caused us a great deal of stress. Without Craig on the other end of the phone, I and my wife, especially, would not have been able to get through. He was always available to answer calls and questions. He assisted in chasing the other side and placing pressure in the right way at the right time on the right parties to ensure we achieved our deadline to exchange and complete. He is extremely professional as well as empathetic and understanding. When he was personally not available, a member of his team was always on hand. I cannot thank and praise Craig highly enough. He definitely deserves a huge recognition. If you need your property sold, or if you are looking to buy then Craig is your man. He will not stop until the deal is done!

Fantastic estate agents

I cannot praise the team at Martyn Gerrard high enough. Bruvis, Jamie and Alex were great from the start. Their communication is excellent, keeping me updated throughout the process. Jamie and Alex did the viewings for me and were always on time and respectful. Once the property went under offer Bruvis took over. He has communicated with me regularly and kept me up to date. He even took it upon himself to speak on several occasions to other estate agents and solicitors in the chain to find out the status of the sale. I couldn't have used a nicer group of people. They've all been so friendly. It's been a pleasure selling my home through them and I don't hesitate to recommend them.

Saddened by this service

I had had one valuation already of 535000 from another estate agent who sat down with me and discussed selling points, anything I had to tell him about my flat etc. He was very polite and focused on what was good about my property. Martin Gerard on the other hand, despite evaluating the same property type on my very same road at 535000, told me my flat was worth 500000, despite at least three rooms being significantly larger than the one they valued at 535000. They had had many viewings for the neighbour’s property and feedback was around the smaller sized rooms. Common sense prevailing, I would have thought my flat could have the same audience - and offer the larger sized rooms. There was no real interest in my home and in fact more questions were asked about the flat above me, that they were very excited about ! The process of a valuation can be quite personal - you are entering people’s homes and making comment, please consider people better and be consistent in your pricing of properties.

Its taken me too long to write this review, which i've been feeling guilty abouy as we had a brilliant experience selling our flat with MG last year. The sales team (Anna, Maria and Tom) came recommended from a friend and were fantastic. They made sure they understood what would work for us, were great communicators and got an excellent offer agreed very quickly. They also ensured we met a slightly challenging deadline for the sale. Service Charge errors and overstatement

Martyn Gerrard manages our small estate of seven properties. The 2025 expenses for service charge were incorrectly overstated to the homeowners by c40%. The 2026 service charges were then increased by more than 25% on the basis of the misstated cost of 2025. Having requested this be rectified and corrected, with new invoices issued, we are still waiting. Bin collection services and insurance have been cut off while we wait for corrected service charges. MG is actively disruptive and careless of their responsibility.

Absolutely disgusting customer service

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Received increase in rent from our tenants as agreed with us for the last 5 months and instead of paying to the landlord, have pocketed for themselves. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!An increased rent was agreed as guaranteed rent at the beginning of the year. Martyn Gerrard have everything in writing and evidence of previous payments . They now refuse to pay us this sum on the basis they do not have a signed contract to this effect. The reason there is no signed contract is because we have awaited a draft since January and have chased this on numerous occasions and it was not provided, and every month we were fobbed off and told we would receive the draft by the following month. No draft ever came. Mrtyn Gerrard also agreed with us as per previous emails in April that they would backdate us for the increased amount, and instead of doing so, they now want to pocket the extra money they have received for a period of 5 months from the tenant. The fact that they have lost all the paperwork as they say do not have a further signed contract despite us chasing for a draft version on numerous occasions since January is of no relevance. They have received the increase in rent and it is an implied term of the rolling contract those monies should be returned to us.
