Lisa Knight, Head of Sales in the Beckenham branch posted a letter to me dated the 17th February. It said, “If you would like to arrange a no-obligation market appraisal, please do not hesitate to get in touch..” I rang the office and made an appointment for the 7th of March. I was clear that I was not putting the house on the market right now.

My husband and I rented a property managed by John D Wood. We worked with several people at the Primrose Hill office, but Harriet Strickland was particularly helpful. Fortunately we didn't have any issues while we lived there and when we decided to move they were very thoughtful about having potential renters view the flat. Finally, Harriet was nice enough to help me six months after we left the property with some paperwork. Truly a pleasant experience. Thanks!

Avoid at any cost

If I could give zero I will! Awful experience starting from when they gave me the keys and then literally disappeared! Then the inventory was totally different from what I found in the house and when I contacted them they said contact the landlord we can’t do anything! Glad that the landlord was cooperative.Now after leaving the house it took them 10 days to send me the inventory checkout and I called them everyday and they gave a different story every day! Now I have been chasing the deposit for 1 month! Literally awful experience, avoid at any cost.

RUN AWAY FROM THEM!

RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

Worst treatment

As a tenant by Vanet Asset Property Management (part of the John D Wood & Co Group), my comments for them are: just terrible!Such a bad treatment from one single agency. Staff turnover is extremely high, different agent each month. No issue log whatsoever, so you need to call them daily to make sure whoever picks up your case, will have the details. So many incidents where we thought our issue was progressing and being resolved, while in reality it wasn't!Forgetting/ignoring tasks, not even when it comes to deposit.Interesting to see what kind of training their agents go through? Do they know how to keep log of issues?Sorry but this is unacceptable treatment.

Sardar swiftly arranged a viewing for me and he and Camilla were fantastic pushing things through so I could have a move in date within a week. Awful Lettings Management

As a tenant who has had John D Wood as my lettings management for the last 6 years I can say that they are absolutely awful. They don't reply to emails, don't take responsibility, don't put out of office emails on so you can't get anything urgent done. I would never use them.

I moved from the US to London, and was very inexperienced in flat finding in the UK. John D Wood & Co Estate Agents Primrose Hill took advantage of my lack of experience in a few ways: 1. Their pictures of the flat made it look much larger and cleaner than it actually was. 2. They negotiated an arragement with a landlord who is extremely creepy towards women. 3. They encouraged me to put a down-payment as soon as possible as other people would be looking at the flat the same day (something extremely common but unknown to me because of my newness at the process.) Because of the first 2 points we ended up not renting the flat, however because of the 3rd point I lost hundreds of pounds because of this decision. For this reason I would not recommend them, even if you are a savy renter, as they seem to be experienced in taking advantage of renters.
