I’ve had a really positive experience working with John D Wood in Primrose Hill, especially Cyntia. She’s been thoughtful, professional, and genuinely lovely to work with throughout the process. They were able to show me flats the same day (Friday) I got in touch and helped me get an offer in and accepted by the following Monday. There were a few moments during the move-in process where I had to follow up on things, but that felt fairly standard and whenever I did, everything was handled very professionally. Overall, a great experience and I have recommended/ connected Cyntia to other friends looking for property nearby! Will continue to do so!

Advice on sale of flat

I went to the Docklands branch and spoke to Tushar about the sale of my property. A very constructive meeting - Tushar clearly has a lot of knowledge and experience, which really put me at ease, (thankfully, as I know from experience how stressful selling one’s home can be). I came away with a good idea of how I want to move forward and checklist of the things that need to be done. Our sale of a property in Surbiton was complicated by the fact that everything had to be managed from overseas. We were fortunate in being directed to John D. Wood and Co at the Surbiton branch, where we have nothing but praise for the professionalism and efficiency of Luke Dwyer and Theo Harding. There were many issues which caused delays in the process of this sale, but at all times Luke was quick to be in touch and to advise on the way forward. Through the tough process of buying a house, Emmie was such a great voice of calm and reason, and a rock throughout. Always easy to reach and always going above and beyond to close the communication gaps between buyer and seller parties in a way that massively helped what was a very tricky and noisy process. She was the calm amongst the chaos! and has such an air of confidence and authority whilst also being so friendly, personable, upbeat and sympathetic. Emmie was really patient with me. She learned exactly what I was looking for and didn’t rush the process. I never felt that my likes and dislikes on a place were unwelcome or falling on deaf ears. She really took note throughout the whole process and was extremely honest herself. Even after the sale was complete, Emmie was so generous with her time and ensuring I was comfortable and set up. Great at her job but never felt faced with a hard sell, which is too often the case.

Avoid unless you want your money stolen and personal information leaked. I dealt with Pina Franks for a property on 24 Edis St in Primrose Hill. Unfortunately everything from start to finish was dealt with incorrectly. You feel a pressure to put money down as there are ‘lots of viewings booked’ and the property will probably go. I should have realised this was rubbish as it had been on the market for weeks before I even enquired about it. I went to measure the flat after I had already paid a week’s money and realised that it wouldn’t be suitable for me and my furniture based on how small it was. They are refusing to return my money to me saying that they took it off the market. I have seen online that it is very much on the market with the furniture arranged as I did it the day I went to measure, so they haven’t lost any marketing time at all and have no grounds to keep the money. All the paperwork was done incorrectly, I was charged a week’s rent based on my original offer and not what would have been the rental amount had it gone ahead, which I’m sure would invalidate any contract. Furthermore, in what is a clear breach of GDPR (last time I checked this carries a penalty of £8.7 million or 2% of the total annual worldwide turnover in the preceding financial year, whichever is higher), Pina Franks forwarded me an email from someone else who had asked for their weeks money back but they were denied. Unfortunately for them their amount was much higher, but I shouldn’t have been forwarded this information in the first place. I can also see here on google someone else has been taken advantage of in the same way I have by the same people. I would avoid dealing with John D Wood in Primrose Hill like the plague, unless you want to be fleeced for hundreds, possibly thousands of pounds and want your personal information leaked to strangers.

From advising on the appropriate asking price, arranging multiple viewings and securing couple of offers in the first two days of the property being on the market.
