We visited two home developments but Matt’s professional in depth review of the Hopkins homes houses, quality and options made the competitors offering look nowhere near as exciting. He really made it easy for us to pick our new home and pay our reservation fee. Looking forward to our new life in Beccles

For a first time buyer my experience with Hopkins Homes felt very refreshing after spending so many years renting. Sheridan and the team were very thorough in guiding me through the experience and I had no problems during the entire process. Mill Grove Development (Stowmarket)Positives:The purchasing experience was smooth, and everything up until completion was easy.Negatives:A total of 60 snags, with some major snags that still after 4 months have not been addressed. Continually having to chase the team, and tradespeople are either not showing up, or not completing the work to a satisfactory standard, so we need multiple visits to clear any problems.We also haven't been given any timeline for when issues are going to be resolved and not informed of when tradespeople will show up.

We chose the Hopkins Homes development for a number of reasons.. The design of the property we bought. The ability to choose fixtures and fittings within the property.. The price of the property and value for money.. The location of the development was what we were looking for, on the edge of a small town, within walking distance of local amenities and close to the coast.The Hopkins Homes team were very helpful throughout the buying process. On completion and occupation of our property, the on site team have been great. Any snagging issues listed by us during the first three weeks, we're dealt with very quickly. Inparticular, the Deputy Site Manager John, has been exceptional with support, help and advice throughout.Thankyou Tanya & Jeff.

Moving to The Elms

So glad to have been given a home demo prior to moving into my new home. This ensured that things that had been overlooked in the snagging process could be rectified before the moving day - and they were! Jason, the Sales Consultant, has been charming and most helpful throughout the purchasing process. Nothing was too much trouble, and the thing that really impressed me was that he remembered everyone's name. Although not at work on the day of completion, he was quick to make contact over the following days to ensure I was happy and that the house was functioning as it should. Highly recommended!

We bought our new Hopkins home in January 2024. Although the heating wasn’t working when we moved in, Hopkins went out of their way to get things sorted. Everyone, including the office staff right down to the ground workers were very helpful and friendly. It’s understandable to expect a snag list when buying a new house, which we did but any problems were sorted out quickly and efficiently. We have no complaints and would definitely recommend Hopkins Homes to other people. In our opinion the house is well designed, the layout is excellent with four good sized bedrooms, plenty of loos and a huge well appointed kitchen dining area.

Overcrowded Elms Development

The unwanted, large, overcrowded Elms development was forced on to the edge of this ancient rural village against the advice and wishes of all current residents. The hastily-constructed properties being built are of zero architectural merit and add no value to the mix of old buildings in the village centre dating back to mediaeval times. Despite only being partially completed the development is causing added congestion in the narrow village streets and adverse pressure on the village infrastructure which will only get worse.It is difficult to see how anybody would want to spend a fortune buying a property in such cramped conditions when there are period and later homes available near the village centre at better prices and with better facilities.

Misrepresented by sales and left with a design flaw

We purchased our new Hopkins Home based on clear verbal assurances from the sales representative, Daisy, that our garden would be a flat, usable space comparable to the show home. As we are not professional landscapers or civil engineers, we trusted the expertise and "premium" reputation of Hopkins Homes to deliver what was described.

A nice house, some major faults

A nice house, but lack of communication, poor customer service and drainage issues let them down. Our house has issues with drainage in the garden, and currently we are unable to leave our property due to tarmac work being carried out on the only access road we have, yet we were not informed. I called the only contact number available to ask for help and to find out what was happening, and the person was very rude and unsympathetic, insisting that "well, I've been told letters were sent out", even though both myself and my only neighbour recieved no such letter and are now essentially trapped in our homes.Edit: In response to your reply, your site team have confirmed they did not put letters through any doors on our specific road, missing 7 houses impacted by this completely.Edit 2: The barriers were briefly moved allowing access at around 7am by workpersons finishing houses on Beetle Close. Seeing their vans go past, I moved my car then, before tarmac work resumed that day, so assistance wasn't needed. Ultimately you left us without emergency service access for 2 nights with no contact number or site presence to turn to. It's utterly appalling, and shows a major disregard for resident safety.

My wife and I have owned new build home for most of our married life together across various areas of the UK.Celia the sales consultant and Mel and Jordon the site team at Beccles are outstanding and a credit to the company. Brought a HH in August 2023 and what a mistake it has turned out to be, we chose the home we wanted, asked the questions that were important to us as home owners. Fast forward 10 months and Hopkins have gone back on the emails and decided to give public access through our driveway. We were promise private driveway signs and a fence and now they have decided to put public access in and a sign explaining the landscape to visitors. I would never buy from them again and when you contact the customer care team their response is always "we will look into this".Do not buy.

Probably the worst home experience I’ve…

Probably the worst home experience I’ve had to deal with! My garden is so badly done when they was building that I’m still facing the consequences now and still trying to get this sorted! It was been 2 1/2 years I’ve had this problem. The garden want left with nhbc standard of top soil, drainage, bricks, mass amounts of clay in the soil,number plates, barbed wire, rocks all sorted left in the soil! I have so many pictures and emails to back me up on this and I’m just getting really annoyed now! I’m now having to put a claim in through the nhbc to try and get something done about this which I also don’t have time for! The customer service people constantly change so your enquiry doesn’t actually get taken on. This has ruined my home and my life having to spend up to nearly £8000 on trying to get my garden not to be a swamp when it rains! And yes I did lay topsoil when I first moved in and when told the Hopkins about this I was told it won’t matter because the turf will hide it, to my reply was so like sticking a plaster on cancer?
