With Thanksgiving approaching I've been thinking about everything I'm thankful for, and one of those things that came to mind was my experience with Savills Cambridge and my long overdue thank you. Moving from the States to Cambridge was a bit challenging (in many ways) when it came to finding a new home; from finding a good location to a landlord that would accept a pet. Kristina went above and beyond to work with me 3000 miles away, from communicating through mediums that worked for long distances to giving me a remote video tour of the property. Whether you have special circumstances or just moving across town, I would definitely recommend the Savills Cambridge team!

There are estate agents and then there is Savills! We needed to sell our lovely old cottage, but it needed matching with the right people and Lucy from Savills understands property and understands people, both the potential purchasers AND the vendors. Along with her charming approach to everything, coupled with attention to detail, she brought the whole thing together to everybody's satisfaction and did it all so professionally she puts all other agents I have used to shame (and at 63, I have used many!) So, whilst Savills are not the cheapest agents, I can see why and value for money was excellent and I cannot recommend Lucy too highly.

After starting a rent and being tenant for 3 months now I have an overall positive experience with Savills. If I had to see the performance of the individuals, like Paul and Sophie, I'd give 5 stars without hesitation! Paul was always helpful, accurate, punctual and patient with us in finding our new flat while Sophie is giving professional and prompt support with issues. Unluckily seeing the whole experience apart from the individuals as a whole I cannot give 5 stars due to some organizational or other issues around the move in (unsecure email signature practice, delaying contract execution of signed contract to the last minute, missing keys at move in, very strong chemical residue in the oven requiring repeated cleaning, some other small defects) causing us extra time and effort results in my rating. Still, the overall picture is positive so far and we are satisfied now, Savills is highly suggested as agents for tenancy, they are much better than the agent we had the misfortune to rent from before.

We recently sold our property in central Cambridge with Brexit looming over the market. Savills Cambridge are a great team - Grace was simply fantastic, she clearly has an innate intuition for the convoluted negotiation process and we could always count on her for open, honest, astute advice. Ed was also a legend - it was a difficult sale - towards the end we were speaking three times a day and I honestly don't think it would have gone through if it weren't for his patience, resolve and adept management of all parties involved. Highly recommended.

I knew from the start that selling my house would not be straightforward because Discher's Pond is of non-standard construction and therefore not an easy building for which to acquire a mortgage. As I had had excellent dealings with James Barnett of Savills in selling our previous property and buying this one in 1994 and also in valuing the house for a probate valuation when my husband died in 2011, James Barnett and Savills were the obvious choice. Like most sales, the selling process had its up and downs but throughout, the Savliis' team were encouraging and reassuring and, at a time when house sales in general were slow and unpredictable, in something under eight months, the house was sold. I am very grateful to James and his team for their kind and sympathetic treatment of an old and anxious client throughout the whole process.

Many thanks to Lucy and the team for getting us through a fraught time. We were lucky to have Savilles on both sides - our purchase and sale - and the customer service was excellent. The house was marketed well, at a sensible price and when potential buyers showed interest, they were converted to viewings and then followed through for feedback. A quick sale happened - no doubt because of this attention to detail. During the sale process, we were kept informed at all stages as to what was happening, we could always get hold of a member of the team to find out more, and they fought continually to keep both sale and purchase on track. There will always be problems in something as complex as buying and selling houses - it is how these problems are dealt with that makes the difference. We have been very impressed with the way everything has been handled.

Having spoken to the team at Savills, I decided that I wanted them to market my house. I didn't regret that decision. James gave advice on preparing the house for sale that was very delicately put to avoid offence. Saviils provided employees to handle viewing. They were very pleasant and professional. Grace was our main point of contact once the sale proceeded and negotiated with potential interested parties and achieved a very satisfactory price. James Barnett sold our large listed village property, 8 miles south of Cambridge, with stables and land, in March 2018. His experience in dealing with older properties, especially listed ones, was invaluable, as the paperwork required is now quite daunting. He was able to call in the experts we needed through Savills extensive contacts in all areas of property care. No sale is ever easy and being supported every step of the way by James and his team was a lesson in how these things should be done. Markets go up and down with the years, and you need someone who really knows their subject and has 'seen it all' and 'dealt with it all' over many years - you will find this with Savills, Cambridge.

We had a very positive experience with Savills. James Barnett and his team worked hard to enable a quick sale, we hoped to at least achieve what the house was valued at and didn't, but it was not an easy market so are thankful for the sale itself. Whilst drawing up the brochure details we felt we had to remind those involved to make all the corrections raised and some information that we asked to be included never made it in to the brochure. However, overall every one we dealt with was very helpful, friendly, professional and always on hand to answer any questions.
