I arranged a viewing based on a time offered by the agent and confirmed it, but it was not actually booked. They insisted I should have received an email and called the office, but I never received anything. I don’t care why their system failed, the result was a wasted journey, and there was no apology. I understand viewings sometimes get canceled, but I’ve never experienced my time being wasted and being told it was my fault for their system issue. I’ve had smooth viewings with other agencies, but this was by far the most disorganized experience I’ve had while looking for a house in Cambridge.

I was a tenant and I rented the house thru them for ~4 years. They were quick in starting the tenancy. It took me only ~10 days for finalizing the contract. Through out the tenancy they were very supportive and quick in resolving any issues. For e.g., most of my plumbing issues were fixed within a day. They have an online issue reporting tool Fixflo which made the life easier. Most importantly they have nice people. I had great time interacting with Judy, Mary & Tony of cambridge office. They were always reachable on phone. I highly recommend Pocock & Shaw for tenants.

Avoid ! At the start they seemed to be doing a good job in selling my property, but that soon changed, they stopped responding to inquiries from potential buyers and communication broke down They would not answer or return phone calls and the person dealing with my sale always seemed to be on holiday or unavailable When the second set of viewings were arranged they were not there The staff were rude to potential buyers and to myself when calling the office, there was no communication between the staff and on more than one occasion they were going in completely opposite directions They did not take direction and did what they decided to do, resulting in over a year of anxiety and stress not to mention wasted time Then when pushed into a corner about these issues they became aggressive and evasive Don’t sign a contract with them because it means nothing They have no obligation to help you but you have to pay if you breech it Don’t recommend

Pocock & Shaw have been the best estate agency i have dealt with and i have dealt with many. Before buying our property, my family rented through them for many years. There were reliable, balanced tenant and owner needs, responsive and had a good human touch. Judy, who works in the Cambridge office was outstanding in her support and stands out to me as the 'agent of agents' in the market. She went above and beyond to help us out whenever needed and has a great deal of integrity. Keep it up P&S! I rented a property from them in June and moved to another property in one month ..The property was filthy on moving in. The property was not cleaned prior to move in There was a smell of raw sewage throughout the home .We spoke with the agency and they did nothing to remedy it .There was a strong stench of oil throughout the home .The engineer that they sent to "fix " the oil smell was unreliable and did not appear to care . The letting agent was very unprofessional.She does respond to calls or emails .She should not be a letting agent .Avoid any property with Pocock and Shaw .They work with slum lords

The worst customer service I've ever experienced by any company. After putting my house on the market they ignored my email queries and then claimed they had gone to their 'deleted' folder despite having already exchanged several earlier emails with three staff members. Funnily enough when I lost patience and asked to end the agreement, they suddenly did receive that message and decided to respond... and then the same thing happened again after a short flurry of apologies. They also vastly overestimated my house price and despite receiving no queries from buyers for over a month, they never proactively contacted me to discuss the asking price. When pictures were taken, I forgot to do a few basic things such as move the bins out of view, close a cupboard and put the toilet seat down. Yet these oversights were not queried or mentioned by the incompetent photographer. Absolutely appalled by the service and can't believe they have such positive reviews elsewhere.

All the paperwork was straightforward, and the team was personal in approach. I was in contact with Judy from the office, who was extremely accommodating and efficient. She was very helpful, especially when I had to change my appointments. A pleasant surprise was the move-in goodies bag, handed over while collecting keys. My experience has been quite positive. We had a nasty problem with an energy provider and Judy dealt with the problem with incredible speed and efficiency. We had a house viewing booked. Person doing the viewing knew nothing about the property- only had the information from the online listing. Told us that she ‘just handles the keys’. Complete waste of time - didn’t even know the chain situation. If you can’t send someone who at least pretends to know something about the house, don’t bother.
