Very pleased with Martin & Co so far. What distinguishes them from other agents is that they make you feel like a human and not like a cash machine. Eleanor Pettet was our agent and she was very professional and friendly, mediating our discussions with our landlord and ensuring we have all we need, even working outside of office hours to reply to us! We are still in the early days of our tenancy but so far Eleanor and the agency are superb.

The receptionist was abrupt and disinterested. She took my email address so that they could confirm the appointment for valuation and I immediately started getting spam from them which made me feel tricked. After the shop manager did the "valuation" I was told he didn't know right then what my flat was worth and would get back to me later that day. That was two weeks ago.

This is the best letting agency in the UK. As a newcomer to Cambridge, I had different experience in communication with different agencies. So I can confirm that managers from "Martin&Co" listen and hear their customers. Very polite and professional service. Thanks to Eleanor (Senior sales Consultant), I found the big, comfortable house for me and my children and started renting it easily. I'm very happy now, and I'm sure I'll continue to cooperate just with them. So the reality is simple. You have just work with professionals.

Giving 1 star because I am not able to give 0. Our experience with this company in particular with Jade and her manager Matthew was absolutely disgusting, disrespectful, unlawful, ridiculous, I could carry on forever. They did not protect our deposit which is a breach of statutory law, nonetheless they still had the audacity to request us to vacate the property, once again breach of statutory law. They then decided to protect our deposit (3 months after they should have), however they only did this after requesting us to vacate the property, yet again breach of statutory law. When advised of these we were completely and utterly ignored by both Jade and her manager Matthew. We were always met with disrespect and rudness to top it up. Furthermore when we put foward a formal complaint we had no reply from Matthew whatsoever. My advice, stay as far away from them as possible.

They are prompt, efficient, handle changes of tenancy very well and have left us very pleased with their service. This year they have also managed the sale of the property, equally well. Went to view a property with these Agents last week [July 2025]. I previously had contact with them a few years ago when trying to buy another property and they were dreadfully bad then .... still no change still unbelievably poor service. Why on earth would anyone in Cambridge sell their property with this dreadful company. When I see a property on-line I like, then I see Martin and Co are the Agents, I shudder and move on. Really bad estate agent who is best avoided.

Anyone looking for a house to rent will know that the rental market is hideous at the moment! We had the added challenge of needing to relocate from one city to another so were unable to attend viewings easily and with an eight month old baby in tow it added a whole other set of challenges! We were so lucky to find Sarah Beedle at Martin & Co who really took her time to help us find a house suitable for our family. Other agencies weren't even taking prospective tenant's details but Sarah went above and beyond to help us. She would take time to call us and check in and remained wonderfully human throughout what can often be quite a cold and transactional process.
