Terrible letting agency. Do not recommend. Employees are really difficult to deal with and are very reluctant to resolve issues. The property I resided in at Hampden Gardens has a recurrent issue with ant and fly infestations in the conservatory. Alexander Greens have done nothing to resolve this issue although it has been raised by myself and former tenants. I’ve just been charged £15 from my deposit for a light bulb not working in my room and a little dust on the skirting board to be cleaned. When I arrived, it was clear that the room had not been cleaned before I moved in and there were two light bulbs that had not been replaced. Avoid this letting agency at all costs. They are very unprofessional and rude.

I was there for 8 months. The room was good on the top floor on 13 aster way. Very warm house. When I received the room the carpet was quite damaged and I took photos of that to prove. The bed broke and they took two weeks to replace it after I had to chase it a number of times by phone and email. In the end I was charged 110£ for the inventory from my deposit ( which is a joke since they will not do an inventory on the start of the tenancy and will do one on the end, not forgetting that they will not give you any paperwork!! So you don't have any contradictory! That's not an inventory, that's something illegal). When I left I cleaned the room. They charged me 60£ for the carpet from my deposit of 780£. Not forgetting that the carpet was already damaged, I have photos of that, there were two holes on he wall and the mattress was in worst condition according to them!!! That's laughable the mattress was probably older than my 40 years old and I don't take especial time punching the walls to see if I can create holes! When I confronted them with the photos they gave me back 30£ of the 60!!Thank you for these 8 months, but I cannot recommend you!

Quite simply, the best letting agent in Cambridge. Low management fees, fast response and fixing of tenants problems. Small enough to genuinely care for their clients. Highly knowledgeable, trustworthy, and efficient. A rare combination these days. We have become wholly reliant on them over the last 7 years, to fully manage our portfolio of properties, and have been totally satisfied with their service. The specialist contractors they use to fix problems are extremely efficient and fairly priced, and have a very fast response time - normally dealt with by the next working day. Right, I took a shot with these guys, purely because of a mixed review is better than all bad (which most agents are). These guys have been awesome so far. They put me in a different room for two weeks, as my work contract started before my intended house was available. I only paid for two weeks rent there, no hidden fees. I paid my deposit (which is protected), a month's rent and a licensing fee (under £200) and everything was set. I was given a good starter park that broke down everything I need to know and the contract clearly stated any additional costs that could be incurred (i.e. changing room etc). The houses were fairly well maintained, although good cleaners are hard to come by I'm assuming, and any repairs were quickly dealt with. Communication has been fantastic and has made the whole process of moving a breeze. I'm now two weeks into my intended house, and I couldn't be more pleased with the agents. Certainly worth a look see for anyone moving in and around Cambridge.

They give you privacy for the majority of the time. They should be more available and quick to react when something needs fixing (it depends on landlords as well). Agencies are not always to blame and I did not have a bad time with Alexander Greens.

AG are responsive, reasonable, and quite minimal in terms of hassle. They usually deal with problems and requests promptly. Helpfully, they communicate the information you need to know clearly, and the cleaners and maintenance workers who visit the properties do their work to a high standard and are friendly :)
