I recently rented my flat out using OakHeart Property. Alongside this Oakheart found myself and my partner a beautiful house to rent in Mersea. The service from Rich (Lettings Manager) at Oakheart was brilliant, from the first meeting Rich was one step ahead of the rest of the estate agents I had met with (and I had met with ALLOT of agents by then). He really listened to the requirements of the property we were looking for and actively called me to tell me about the house in Mersea before it had even been advertised. I would recommend Oakheart to anyone looking for a estate agent. Wow, I never thought I'd be writing a positive review about an estate agent. Initially Charlie came out to value my property some months ago. We decided to instruct another agent as they valued the property £50,000 more. We fell into the estate agency trap. My house had been on the market for months with another agent with little to no interest. Charlie came along, presented our home beautifully with amazing photographs, floorplan and virtual tour. He personally dealt with our viewers, and within 6 weeks (how long he said it would take!) we were under offer. We had two offerees and this managed to boost the price to Charlie's original valuation. He recommended a mortgage advisor who was BRILLIANT, solicitors who were exceptional. Despite purple bricks being involved in the chain and naturally delaying the transaction time, Charlie kept me up to date weekly. Sometimes daily, whether it was a text, email or call. Charlie was a pleasure to work with. I wouldn't ever even consider another estate agent again. Thank you so much for your help and good luck on your new venture, if you maintain this level of service I have no doubt in the success you will achieve. Thanks again 5* service from a 10* agent.

Rented with Oakheart for one year and probably the worst decision of my life. - they falsely advertised the property re contents (we had to buy white goods after being promised differently); they refused to repair maintenance issues; they try to charge the tenants for fixing plumbing issues which was down to landlord (in order to preserve their income); they left us with a broken water pump which meant no water access at night for about 5 months. When it came to renewal, we said we will not renew unless the water pump is sorted, on which occasion we were given eviction notice for asking for the repairs. We made complaints to the agency regarding the above, to which the lettings director emailed us to tell us they need to act as a business and protect their income so they will side with the landlord and they don't care about tenants. When it came to the deposit release, our check out report said we left the property in perfect condition, however the agency took over a month to get the deposit back after continuous arguments. These are just a summary of all the issues we've had renting through this estate agent, and it failed to deliver by all means any good service. Not only we ended up being evicted, but because of how poor they are, the landlord did not actually continue renting through them either. They talk a big game, but they only look after their own profits therefore, I would avoid at all cost.

Dear Stefan,I am saddened to see that you feel we have given you a less than satisfactory service. As we have advised on a number of occasions, we act on the landlords instruction which means that if the landlord does not authorise a repair, we cannot just instruct the work. As you are aware, the landlord chose to serve notice due to a change in their own circumstances that meant they needed to move into the property. I have never emailed you advising I wish to protect our income and will side with the landlords and am incredibly upset that you have made this unfounded accusation. As advised, we were not able to release the deposit until we had the landlord's consent. Despite my recommendations to return your full deposit, the landlord had a discrepancy of damage which you were completely updated about. The landlord ultimately agreed to return your full deposit on our recommendation. As this is the second time you have amended a 5 star review to 1 star I would be eager to speak with you further to see if there is a resolution we can come to. Best Regards
