GoogleWhat can I say that hasn’t already been said? Our experience with Potter and Ford was fantastic.
From initial meeting to completion day, Richard and his team were proactive and supportive every step of the way. In a tough sellers market we had 10 viewings within the first week. Then within a few short weeks of going to market they found us our perfect buyers.
We listed in late April, sold within weeks for full asking price and moved in August. If you’re thinking of selling in Chesham I would DEFINITELY recommend Potter and Ford. They know the market, they have the client database and they genuinely care about their clients.

GoogleWhen we first moved to Chesham, we were very impressed with Potter & Ford. Richard kept in touch with us during our search and we eventually bought our current house through them. I was actually very relieved we found the house we liked through Potter & Ford because we knew the transaction would be in good hands. It was a good experience and Richard had been able to help us through to a very quick exchange and completion.
Needless to say, when the time came 5 years later for us to sell, we called upon Richard and his team again. From handling viewings, to keeping in touch with feedback, Potter & Ford have been excellent. We have very much appreciated the feedback and guidance from both Richard and Robert when we were accepting the offer on our house, and we have just exchanged contracts . We are in a long chain, but Richard has played an instrumental part in helping to keep things moving along.
If you are looking at the Chesham and Amersham area, then I cannot recommend Potter & Ford enough. Having experienced them in both capacities as a buyer and seller, I only wish more estate agents were like them!

GoogleWe have recently used Potter and Ford to initially let and then sell our house. The service and support we received was fantastic. Richard was fantastic at keeping us in the loop and liasing between ourselves, the buyer and both sets of solicitors. We had also used another local agency previously when letting out the property but transferred over to Potter and Ford which has been a brilliant experience. As we were selling from a distance, and had tenants Richard was excellent at checking up on our empty property and acting as a go between. There were no hidden extra charges. Potter and Ford went above and beyond and we are very very happy with them.

GoogleHappy to recommend Rob's team at Potter & Ford to anyone. We have found them to be very efficient friendly and professional throughout (what turned out to be) a rather protracted sale. We had a potential buyer lined up who then pulled out the day after the Brexit referendum. Potter and Ford immediately remarketted the property and a new purchaser was identified within 2 weeks which we were very impressed with given the uncertainty in the housing market just at that time. Unfortunately we then suffered a family bereavement which threatened to derail the whole process again but Potter & Ford persuaded the buyer to bear with us whilst the legalities of that were all being sorted out and we have now completed - today in fact!

GoogleA few years ago we rented a property from these guys. They charged us 120 (x2) for each person for referencing admin and £150 admin fee (£390 total) when referencing costs about £20 from the 3rd party they use.
If we had children, would they have charged £120 to credit check each child? how about the pet dog?
They were deep in the "rip of tenants" game with unscrupulous fees. Further to this, when the rented property flooded through no fault of our own and it was all a calamity, they charged us another admin fee for the new property! - as 'good will' they didn't charge us for another reference check - how is this goodwill?("this time will rip you off less than we ripped you off before"). When we finally moved out of the area it took us 3 months and threat of legal action to get our overpaid rent back.

Sorry you felt that way about the fees but we have always been very competitive with fees and at the time we were one of the cheapest in this area. We always looked at other agents fees and tried to be more affordable.
The lettings fee ban is now in effect and although looks good on paper.... as feared by agents, rents are starting to increase with national average up over 2% - agents relied on revenue from these fees to keep the doors open and have had to charge more to landlords or look else where for revenue, so people have lost jobs and some landlords have been selling due to fee changes and other government tax changes, meaning less rental properties to meet the same demand therefore increasing rents. We feel in the not so distant future tenants will be more out of pocket year on year than before the fee ban.

GoogleBeware their inventory company. Potter and Ford have lovely staff who do try their best to help you. The company that they use for doing their inventories for lettings are total scam artists. The individuals sent round for the property I was renting couldn't be bothered to get all areas of damage. They then attempt to claim that damage and dirt is new on your check out report, despite the fact they took photographs of the same damage on the check in report.
I even had to argue with the person doing the check in that the property had gas - despite the fact that she had taken pictures of the gas safety certificates AND the gas boiler!NegativeProfessionalism

So sorry that you had this experience, we have looked into this the company sent a different employee (fairly new) to do the check out and are very sorry for any issues that this caused.
We will monitor the company closely and if we feel they are not providing a good service to both landlord and tenant we will not continue to use them, so thank you for drawing out attention to this.

They not just sold it once for us, but when they sale fell through (no fault of theirs) we tasked them for selling it a second time for us, and they had to do it in a week so our offer on our new house would be accepted. They had prospective buyers through the door in 2 days and offers on the table within 4.

I would have responded sooner but we reported this review to google as it is offensive and totally unfounded. They haven't responded to our complaint for over a month so I felt I had to reply. To our knowledge we have never met you, you called our office for the 1st time complaining about a property in Amersham that we have had no dealings with. You were extremely rude to two of our team who were trying to help you, swearing at them and not listening to the explanation that you may have the wrong agent.
