We purchased our property through Curran and Pinner last year, and it has taken us some time to write a review due to the busyness of life. As first-time buyers, our experience with this estate agent was disappointing. With the help of experienced professionals, we felt some reactions and chasing should have been avoided from this agent. We found that Warren, became overly involved, offering conflicting timelines and even accusing us of causing tactical delays, claims that were completely untrue. With email chains stretching into the hundreds, we began to feel these tactics were being used to pressure us into action on matters that were outside of our control. Ultimately, we had to distance ourselves from this agent and allow our solicitors to handle communication which alleviated unwanted pressure. While we understand that the home-buying process can take time, our completion was within the average time frame so failed to understand their problem. However, based on our experience, we would not recommend purchasing through Curran and Pinnar or at least for others to allow caution in the processes of the overall behaviour from the agent to close a sale. We hope this experience serves as a learning opportunity for them, and that they will consider stepping back in future transactions to avoid unnecessary stress for buyers.

Unethical practices

Unethical, disappointing and uncaring. The flat I rented was managed by them. It had a major electrical danger and fire safety hazard. Instead of addressing the issue, they kept trying to pass the buck to the block management who in turn passed the buck to them. Meanwhile I was living without electricity for three days already and that too with an infant in the house. Did they care? Of course not. Me and family could die for all they care as long as they get to save a few hundred by fobbing me off. Eventually I had no option but to get a pvt electrician and get the thing repaired. He too said it was a fault with the house and not the block. He did say that it needed extended repair and he has applied a band aid of sorts. But cubit and west did not care.i had to eventually vacate the flat and they have still not refunded the money I paid for the repairs. Instead they found a new tenant and got them to pay higher rent than I was paying without even repairing anything!!!! Try and stay away from them if you can.

I have not had many great experiences with Cubit and West, honestly. But Tom Hadlow from the property management dept has been the one shining star in the midst of loads of disappointment. He has been kind, professional, courteous and tried to be helpful. He tried to deliver what he promised but couldn't do so always as his hands were tied by a corrupt organisation. If at all I ever think of using cubit and west again (I'd have to be desperate if I do) it will be because of Tom. All the best to him in his career.

CATERHAM branch. Terrible service from Lucy at caterham. She totally ruined the whole selling experiences by being generally nasty and arrogant. (Not the only person to say this I might add).She also changed the price of my property to what she pleased even though she was directed not to by myself the homeowner and generally seemed to take a disliking to me after she was proved wrong after she claimed a certain price I wanted couldn’t be achieved. 1 week later it was achieved absolutely fine.Benjamin however did a good job and was very polite.
