I can't praise Alex Wicks highly enough. I have used other estate agents in Brighton to sell and was very let down by them. From the beginning Alex has been personally involved in showing my flat and has kept me regularly informed at every stage. He was ready with advice and answered any of my enquires immediately. He secured a good offer (with the first viewing, in fact!) and has been actively involved in overseeing the progress of the sale. The team at Fox and Son is excellent and I will definitely use their services again.

DON’T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR Would NOT recommend fox and sons, especially this branch- avoid the illusive Katie at all costs, she not only failed to do our contract correctly, providing us with the wrong energy provider leaving us with a 500 pound bill, tried phoning for a month and was never able to get through and never received a phone back, the initial deposit was calculated wrong and demanded the rest from us with no apology, they booked the PAT test wrong 2 times and then phoned my dad who’s just the guarantor to tell him that I had to be in on the third as it desperately needed to be done ( I was at the house waiting within the 4 hour window twice) - made me feel like a child. I’m a 20 year woman paying my own bills. Still in an ongoing battle with them, they are all nothing but rude and ignore emails and phone calls for ages - AVIOD AT ALL COSTS

I can't speak highly enough of the team at Fox and Sons - Ben and Ed especially - who were instrumental in us finding our Kemptown flat in 2011, supporting us through some bumpy, unexpected problems along the way; and in finally completing the sale of that same flat this week. We've had our fair share of ups, downs, delays, despair and excitement and knowing that I could always pick up the phone, or pop in for advice and reassurance has been invaluable. I waited for 5 days over a weekend for acceptance from the agents for a guarantor, 3 days before I was scheduled to move in. Nothing from the agents, they didn't care. It was only when they gave me the details of the owners and I could speak directly (after 5 long days) that I knew I was actually moving into the house. Then I didn't get to sign the contract until the actual day of the contract starting. I didn't get the keys either. I had not experienced such carelessness from letting agents and I have moved a lot (Berlin & UK). On the day of the move the van was waiting to move in whilst I was waiting for the contract to be signed by the owners. Bad oversight on the agents part! After a 90 mins wait I got to sign the 52 pages of the contract electronically on my phone screen, barely able to read it all! Only then did I get the keys handed to me (with the wrong key for the back door). Michael was really helpful but he wasn't my main contact.NegativeResponsiveness, Value

Pathetic excuse for a company! Expect to wait in excess of 2 weeks for a return of a deposit (and still waiting) even although, as per the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, they should have refunded it 10 days after our request or presented a list of costs that they are claiming. Albeit most of their suggestion bogus. Horrific management, especially Jenna who is not only rude but just a horrible person. Clearly she doesn't realise that she is dealing with peoples lives, nor does she seemingly care. We had to wait over 2 weeks to have a shower fixed, which meant we had no hot water and were showering at a friends house, and when they sent an engineer, an electrician turned up rather than a plumber! Additionally, the rear fire exit door lock was broken and brought to our attention on check-in - fox and sons waited until we reminded them that oursafety is of *some* importance before this was rectified. They also insisted we had a garage at one point (which we didnt) - clearly shows how much they know about their properties. The only saving grace for this branch of Fox & Sons is Charlotte Falk, who is extremely nice and very very helpful. If it wasn't for her, we don't know what we would have done. P.s. expect to wait days and days for a response to an email.

Heads up: Mostly no issues with the agency approaching the final months. However had an issue where they booked in an inspection and we arranged for 11.30 when I could be home. I arrived at 11.20 to be ready and waited until 12 before calling for an update. Apparently there was a "diary mix up" (the guy had called me in the morning to confirm 11.30 so I am not convinced). The inspection was carried out without me being home at 11. Not a major issue, but I find it unprofessional to not stick with appointments. There was also no explicit permission for access without my presence but agencies are always pushing boundaries in Brighton. Not the worst. Perhaps not the best. Original Review (First Impressions): So far so brilliant! The fees are a little higher than the more budget / student oriented letting agencies but it is so so worth it. The team is really brilliant and I've had no non-sense from them which I've experienced with previous agencies. Fox and Sons has done a great job so far and handled everything professionally. They seems to attract good landlords as my current landlord is extremely proactive and very good. I've not had any issues in communications at all. Things to watch out for (but absolutely don't affect service or would make me drop a star): They tend to push lots of "add-ons" such as suggesting their partner electric supplier etc etc. They're not the cheapest option and F&S clearly takes commission. It's entirely optional, but unless it's right for you don't accidentally sign up for it. Just ignore the check boxes and say "no thank you". They won't take it personally (which shines to their good service). I'm not at the end of my tenancy, but if there is anything to add I will update the review accordingly.

Thanks to Michael Varagoulis + team, they helped us navigate the minefield of 1st time buying, keeping us up to date & often keeping the process running when things slipped with 3rd parties. Michael was particularly insightful helping us identify the right mortgage at the most competitive rate - the optional F&S extras on offer such as 3rd party life / earnings insurance products are more down to personal taste, advise do your research first, but overall very good in-house team.

Simply WOW!! The ladies in the letting department have been on the ball and catered to our every need right from day one of the process. They are always there to take our questions and help out. Special thanks to Sammy, who initially showed us around the property and did so in a very professional but comfortable manor. With a wealth of knowledge on the property condition and the terms. Also another special thanks to Jenna, who has been our property manager and negotiator in the process. She too has been professional and warming to us. The whole process was very calm, smooth and rather quick. But we never felt pressured or was given the hard sell. One last thanks to Lauren (I believe I have her name right), who is on the front desk manning the battleship. Thank you for always welcoming me with a smile and being very polite.
