I dealt with Fox and Sons in Hove for the purchase of a flat on Hove seafront in late 2021. All the staff at the branch were extremely helpful throughout the whole process, even when the seller had to get rid of an awkward tenant, they really couldn't have done anymore; Keira and Darren in particular were excellent. Jamie at the branch helped me get my mortgage too. I would highly recommend Fox and Sons and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

One star is one too many

One star is one too many; what can I say...Avoid at all costs! They valued the property at 400k in line with Zoopla and several other valuations including a RICS valuation. They convinced us to go on at 375k to start a bidding war which they insisted they could do. Typical sales crap. Anyway, they planned to do an open day, listed the property then unlisted it to allow Rightmove to update normally a 48-hour process. It didn't go live on to Rightmove for almost 14 days despite numerous calls to the office and getting fobbed off and told this was normal, It is NOT! This led to only 2 viewings on the open day. We had spoken to their mortgage team and almost 20 weeks into the contract they have still not contacted us back to provide the updated mortgage information meaning even if an offer was received it could not be accepted and despite formal complaints this was still not resolved. At almost every stage they have tried to get us to drop the price to 350k even though we did receive an offer of 370k and they said that was the best we could expect. They have tried to get us to do a boxing day relaunch with only 10 days left on the contract and when we did try to get a relaunch by dropping by 2% they did not return our calls. The viewings were shocking, and they didn’t know which garage was which. Failed to point out key aspects of the kitchen and planning permissions in place for expansion and on two occasions failed to show up leaving me to do the viewings not to mention inaccuracies when updating Rightmove. In my opinion they are more focused on their Rightmove statistics than customer service in 20 weeks our property was emailed out twice to perspective buyers! AVOID and use an small or independent.

It was a bit unfortunate that the negotiator we were originally assigned to handle the sale of our property left the company mid-way through the process and we weren't formally notified of the fact, or given the name of his successor. That said, the person who took over from him did a very creditable job of picking up where he left off and of navigating the sale of our flat through to a satisfactory completion. It was a longer journey than we had anticipated and there were a couple of bumps along the road; also, the sale price achieved was lower than we had hoped (and somewhat lower than the original valuation), despite being in the midst of a "hot" property market. All the staff with whom we had dealings were well motivated and professional in their approach to their jobs and if I had another property to sell in Brighton & Hove, I would almost certainly return to Fox & Sons. We chose to sell our one bed flat on a bit of a whim when the stamp duty holiday came in. We'd not sold a property before, so were a bit nervous, but I have to say, we had a pretty excellent experience with Fox and Sons. They communicated really well following viewings and when we did get an offer they kindly negotiated outlr sale price up, which was obviously appreciated. I can't think of anything negative to say and I have recommended them to friends, which I think says a lot.

Highly recommended - A hands-on and proactive service from a dedicated and effective team. Moving house in 2020 was always going to be turbulent, to say the least. The staff at Fox and Sons navigated the obstacles with a resilient and pro-active approach where I believe other agents would have let the sale slip away. Keira Jarvis has fantastic technical ability and experience in the market that enabled her to know exactly how to deal with some key challenges and keep the sale process on track. She would provide regular updates and was transparent throughout the process which gave me peace of mind in a stressful situation (which is worth more than its weight in gold when moving home). Heb Bailey provides everything that you want from your agent when selling or buying property. He is driven to ensure that you achieve the results that you are after and is clearly gifted in his ability to make that happen, through his natural charisma and detailed understanding of the local housing market. A great service at Bognor, with great leadership. In particular, we are extremely impressed with Sam, a relatively new member of their superb team. He is a great asset to their personalised service. New as he may be to the role, he is the most proactive and communicative estate agent we have ever had the pleasure of working with on our case. We have moved 8 times in 50 years, and he is the best there is. He remains aware of customers plight, and engages every skill in selling our property.Despite having our first offer withdrawn on health grounds, Sam continued his efforts to find another buyer aware of our needs in moving out of area. He remained focussed, maintaining a balance between encouraging and supporting us the vendor, whilst not exerting too much pressure on prospective buyers, till reaching success in getting a second offer on our property. Steve delivers on his promises

Selling the house you were brought up in and your parents worked every hour in the day to own and then love for over 45 years is not easy. Luckily Steve, also a local lad from Hampden Park understood this, as well as the my challenges of living remotely, and made sure I was fully supported through the process. I asked for help, I got it, I said comms would need to work around my mother’s care and my NHS work, he said “no problem”. Fox & Sons Hastings... clownsWhere to start with these clowns. Appointed them to sell building land. They took photos of someone else's land that was no where near the property and I had to correct them before they published. In the odd 6-7 months they were marketing, they got a sale, but I barely received any updates unless I phoned them. They never responded to any emails and told me they never received them when I challenged them... ok then, even though I copied three of them every time.When I phoned it went to answer machine sometimes and nobody ever called back or if someone did answer, they would tell me they'd pass on a message, but still never called back. We had a sale at this point, but the builder was messing about. I decided to write a final demand email, so looked on line for the managers email address and low and behold... I've been emailing him all along, Daniel Cotterill. He's a partner and if he cannot be bothered to respond, what chance do you have. I phoned again for the last time before removing them and he answered the phone (caught him) and told him he had two weeks to get the contracts exchanged or they were getting kicked off.Two weeks passed and nothing, so I phoned them again the day before and spoke to someone else, left a message, but still no response/call back. They were dropped three days ago and I sent a scathing email to Fox and Sons Hastings, their head office, backers and IT team. No response, there's a surprise. Don't do it. Do not use these chancers at any cost. They will try to pull you in on an overpriced deal just to get you on the books. Pay more for a better service elsewhere, which to be honest will be everywhere else.Daniel Cotterill... you and your team are a discrace to the industry. How Fox & Sons Hastings are still trading is beyond me and I would put money on this sloppy outfit being out of business within 2 years.
