It has been a quite emotional time as the flat was my mum's home for around 40 years and she had been living there until she was 97 years old and then had to go into a care home for the last 5 years. After frankly dreadful service from another agent I dumped them and decided to market my house with Douglas Allen. And I'm so glad I did. they were professional, friendly and effective straight from the off. My house went online with them on a Monday morning and that afternoon they phoned to book two viewings in the next couple of days. All in all, I had well over ten viewings in the first two weeks, resulting in three offers. Unfortunately, the first offer I accepted fell through and the team were on the case immediately. Long story short, they contacted the other two offers and we negotiated a sale with one of them. I am now settling into my new home in Dorset and very grateful for their help in my achieving my dream. They were consistently prompt and clear in communication, helpful, friendly and the viewings were well selected. The whole team were great but I should mention Maria for leading the process with skill and enthusiasm and Ben, who helped out effectively in a couple of sticky moments. They really showed me how a good estate agency should work!

Right from the start we got great advice and service. We are trying to buy somewhere in the area of Walthamstow and I came across this estate agent office via rightmove. Last week I gave them a call and booked to view two properties, one on Garner road and one in Lyne Crescent in Walthamstow. Throughout the entire week the manager was trying to convince us to go and see their financial advisor, even if we have a mortgage in principle, which was unnecessary and wasn't listening to what I was telling him. When he finally got over this we finally booked to see the two properties, all confirmed via emails and SMS. When we turned up at the first property on a freezing Saturday evening no one was there. We knocked on the door but no one answered, therefore we decided to call the number provided. We got through to a calling centre (who were very nice), I explained the situation and they tried to get in touch with the person we were meant to have the viewing with. However, they didn't manage to hold of him. My wife is 6 months pregnant and we ended up standing in front of the property in the freezing cold for over 15' before finally deciding to leave. This is the second time they never show up, as we had a similar experience in a flat on Brettenham road back in September, where they mixed up the dates and no one appeared again. We are very annoyed by these people and of course I will stay away from now on as they failed to provide a decent experience twice. I would also encourage all home owners to steer away from them too.

Had a very stressful time selling through Chadwell heath branch, Michael allowed potential buyers into our property before exchange had been done, they stayed for a whole day doing work & had a moving in ceremony, even though at this stage it wasn't their house! They never asked us for permission, good job we had good neighbours advising us what was going on! We had no phone call from the manager as off sick, Michelle never bothered to contact us either. Very poor service all round, this went through the whole complaints procedure, & onto ombudsmen. All could have been avoided if Michael had acted in the professional manner in the 1st place. Would never recommend or use again.. in answer to your reply, unfortunately it happened, your customer relations dept was good in dealing with it, just not the branch.

I have viewed and worked with many other agents but no one has this kind of attitude and communication at all.I was ready to increase my offer for £15000 but the Senior !!!!! Marketing Consultant, named Nabeel Ali didn't let me increase my offer saying that no need to. Afterwards, he miscommunicated with the vendor regarding our chain even though he was aware that we have the buyer ready with the approved mortgage application. From the beginning, he was tricky and rude. Never had this kind of experience with any professional person.Such a shame !!

KEEP AWAY FROM THESE GUYSI was promised a professional service; they insisted on their conveyancers who had little understanding of leasehold ownership, i was strung along for almost 9 months ignoring many of my calls, it was not explained about a request for a change on the head lease until many months later. I lost my buyer who said she no longer believed a word these people told her, my cheap mortgage for the new property i was buying , my income as my tenants had to leave when in fact the completion dates where all pie in the sky. I've lost over £8000, and am considering legal action and the stress and costs continues.

My elderly parents signed up with them to sell their house. Douglas Allen then put it on some strange scheme of equity release. I complained and they apologised and removed it. The house was sold via Lawlors in May. We cancelled the contract with Douglas Allen twice and received confirmation They still published the house despite their wishes. We then got an e mail in early July to say they’d stopped. Today ( 3 months later) my parents got a letter saying ithey needed it be put in writing again. If you have older or vulnerable sellers please do not use this agent.

The lady who came round my flat gave a very good sales pitch told me my one bed room flat would have an open house and be sold on the monday morning ..... The first open house was canceled , they told me due too hot weather and football .... The second one was all booked in and when i phoned to confirm it , they told me the lady who booked it in was on holiday and she didn't even tell me it had been canceled again ....They didn't even phone me with up dates or anything ....I had them on contract for 6 weeks what a total waste of my time ..... I wouldn't use this company at all this was the basildon branch ......

Joelle agreed to this with a view to reducing the price if it did not receive the level of interest that we would expect.It is regrettable that your first open house did not receive the interest expected, which we believe was due to the asking price. Unfortunately the customer who wished to attend cancelled because of the England World Cup football match, which also affected the second open house event scheduled and other property viewings.
