I would completely recommend avoiding…

I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

Damaged our house, and we're not even their clients!

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

Worst estate agent experience we ever had I swear. They treat you like you are a piece of r as a tenant. They breached so many tenant rights and safety measures that I will need to make a detailed list of and report. (Including gas safety!) One additional thing: They (especially sales team) need to get a gender equity training. They keep ignoring the woman tenant and keep communicating to the man. They also do not include the woman for call/e-mail communications and seeing you as a secondary contact even though we complained about it.

Agent Harj was full of fake promises

Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

Bad communication

I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

If I were looking to rent, I would be running as far as possible from this agency or owners they work with! if there were minus points that is what I would give them for ripping a kid off!

Avoid This Agency, Completely Fraudulent and Untrustworthy If I could give zero stars, I would. I rented my property through this agency as a family home, but they have illegally turned it into an unlicensed HMO without my consent. Despite repeated promises from their agent Preeti that an HMO licence would be obtained, it never was. My rent has not been paid for over two months, and my calls and messages are now being ignored. The tenants contact me directly because the agents refuse to take responsibility. I was told I would be reimbursed for repair costs, I provided all invoices, but not a single penny has been repaid. The condition of my property now is appalling compared to how it was handed over. I have photos showing the before and after, it’s heartbreaking. After losing my father suddenly last year, this house held many memories, all of which have been completely destroyed by their negligence and deceit. Do not trust this company with your property. They are dishonest, unprofessional, and exploit landlords. I strongly urge others to stay away, they will promise everything and deliver nothing.

so bad discriminated by this company when I went for a view in the person told me to go and jump over bridge and kill myself because I don't deserve to be alive because I'm autistic did not even investigate they didn't do nothing to switch it on the look of like nothing happened and didn't want to do nothing tell someone to go and kill herself what do they gonna do nothing about it and he was sitting there laughing like it was a joke and then just sitting there thinking it's funny and they say gone going to it and make us all very happy that we don't have to deal with another autistic personthis is why I'm going for four legal action and I'm going to go for criminal charges against them

Money for nothing

Make no mistake they aren't worthy of even one star! This Hunters franchise (Sea Road Sunderland) and their so called MD Chris Kelly and his team failed to carry our property inspections and investigate complaints from neighbours in relation to the neglect and horrendous decline of my property over a three year period. We as landlords put our faith in the letting agent and trust they will do a good job in managing our properties. I'm now £7k down trying to repair the property to a good standard. The failure of this company to manage the property and the tenants has left me significantly disadvantaged. Mr Kelly has not responded to my many complaints and requests for compensation and has instead left the franchise, no doubt to make another fortune charging 15% off the back of other unsuspecting landlords! Hunters are a company well known and trusted in our area but be warned, these agents are hiding behind that brand and are able to operate without scrutiny or regulation!!

I paid a £135 holding deposit to secure a room with an agreed move‑in date. The moment they took my money, they changed the date and told me I could only move in several days later. Because of their change, I could no longer proceed and asked for a refund, which they refused.

Hunters Stevenage is extremely unprofessional and dishonest!I want to caution everyone considering them before handing over a deposit, as they will go to great lengths to keep your money.I had been renting for eight years prior to this, in various properties with different agents, and never encountered any issues with the return of my deposit.It's incredibly frustrating trying to get a response from them, even through email. Without a doubt, they are the worst estate agent I've ever had to deal with. I lived in a rented house through them for nearly two years but recently purchased my own place through Own Homes (which hasn't had any issues).Hunters is currently refusing to refund my deposit after two months, citing a small rip in the carpet near the radiator pipe and a crack in the bath. Both of these issues were present when I first moved in.They are taking an unreasonable stance and are also claiming an inability to communicate with the landlord for nearly a month. They're even using minor issues like mold on the bathroom sealant and three burnt-out light bulbs as reasons not to return my deposit.Furthermore, after two months, they are now trying to deduct money from my deposit, citing a weed issue in the front garden.Letting Manager sent me an email at 7:14 PM, and immediately after that, I went to the house and took photos to document the situation. It's truly baffling how unreasonable they are being.I consistently paid the rent on time and took excellent care of the house while I was there, even installing a new shower. However, I'm currently facing issues retrieving my deposit, as I had to hire a cleaning company to restore the house to its original condition. This has been an ongoing process please be cautious when dealing with Hunters Stevenage!!!"
