Categorically Never Use M&P For Lettings Management

My wife and I have been using the Stockwell branch of Marsh and Parsons as our lettings manager since October. Considering their large management fee, they have been outright horrendous. The flat below reported a leak at the start of November. Since then we have had 4 visits to our property by various contractors who have all failed to diagnose a leaky shower. The leak is still undiagnosed and the bill still accrues. We are at over 3 months to repair a leak. 3 months! In another incident we had a fire suppression system burst in December, a totally anomalous event causing a small amount of flooding. On the one day we needed their active and immediate assistance they were awful. Contact was intermittent, clear instructions not followed, and their lack of care and concern was incredible. Had we not intervened almost nothing would have been achieved and our tenants would have been left in the lurch.The whole point of managed service is so you can forget about your property and let it be run by professionals. That is what the not insignificant cost is taking care of. However Marsh and Parsons have caused more issues than they have solved and we would have saved more time, money and importantly stress, doing it all ourselves. We have had to direct or hold their hand at every turn, pushing for updates, chasing results. Crucially do not expect anyone from their management team or with any seniority to step in or make a difference. They wont.The moment we can, we will be extricating ourselves from this service. A shame as we had planned to sell our house with them but this experience has been beyond poor.

Professional but still with error

Overall Marsh & Parsons are very professional and work according the all UK regulated standards in a diligent way. They are a trustful organization in this manner. However, my scheduled move-in date was pushed back by almost two weeks due to a last minute error in not realizing all the paperwork was in order. There was ample time (2 months) to have caught this earlier and pushing the move-in date back was very frustrating and resulted in a high personal and financial cost as flights, and accommodation were arranged with the initial move-in date in mind.

DO NOT RENT OR BUY FROM THESE RIDICULOUS AMATEURS

Communicating with this agent has been an extremely unpleasant experience. The agents I've spoken with are rude, and everything they say is inappropriate, childish, and shows complete ignorance. They tell us we're not suitable for a house we applied for, for which they're asking even less price than we currently pay on another property. Nothing seems to be enough for these ignorant agents. They don't value good tenants, and therefore what they deserve is to be pursued by fraudster tenants who will tell them a bunch of lies and then stop paying the landlord or destroy the property... that's what they're looking for by neglecting the truly good tenants who have fulfilled their responsibilities their entire lives.

I recently was selling an apartment that was rented for a long period of time. Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of issues that needed resolving and some unexpected complications. Abdullah was extremely helpful in dealing with these on my behalf. Given that I was selling the flat - making the possibility of longer term rental business unavailable - I must say that I was very pleased that Abdullah was so accommodating. He seemed to offer help from a genuine desire to solve problems for all parties, which really helped things move along quickly and easily, rather than from a desire to drum up more business. I can’t praise this estate agency too highly. From the very start the whole team was positive and proactive. They obtained a good price for the sale our property and arranged a large number of high-quality viewings that resulted in sale in a relatively short period of time. Probably my best renting experience

I have been a tenant in the property for almost a year now and in that time there has been a couple of very standard type issues arise. I must say, not only can I get hold of Derbhla (my property manager) on both direct line and mobile, she has been incredibly thorough in seeing all issues or requests through and double checking it’s resolved a week or so later.This level of detail and care not only makes me confident that no matter what arises in the future, I have someone from Marsh & Parsons on the end of the phone, but also that I get additional value for money on top of my rent. Excellent renewal delivery by Natalie

I was contacted to renew my rental contract around 3 months before expiry which I thought was super efficient. Natalie was incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, efficient and friendly aside from providing an excellent service regarding the renewal negotiation and process. She is by far the best compared to numerous agents I have had to deal with over the past 6 years from various firms, exceeding all expectations!
