I've used them for several

I've used them for several houses over several years Completely useless Don't answer emails (from tenants or landlords) Didn't put up sign boards Then put up wrong signboards Didn't reply to enquiries from prospective tenants (& therefore lost me £1350) Don't seem to use computers - let me look on my friends desk & she what note she has left herself..... sorry I don't understand the note Then they hold on to money far longer than needed - the only person that can transfer funds is only in on Thursdays They took 3 & 4 months to rent 2 houses - my other very similar house in the same development has just let in a matter of days (without Whitegates)

what started off well ended

what started off well ended so badly.. i Was in the process of purschasing a property through this agent but the staff and service provided by almost all at the darley street branch was below standard from the way they answered the phone the tone and manner in the speech how they handle the customer requires some serious customer service training needs. After my offer was accepted a third party / second buyer was also interested in the property which is fine, fair and expected so the offer soon increased by £20k and instead of drawing a line anywhere and letting one of us start the mortatge process i kept getting asked for my 'best and final offer' which was asked over 7 times in the space of 2 weeks so i told them if its a bidding war they wanted they should go for the auction route as best and final offers are asked once and the highest offer gets the property but this is becoming a joke how can i sort my mortgage and start paying for fees and surveys when they keep on agreeing to other offers after accepting mine.. which was supposed to be the 'best and final offer' i was at my wits end and only 1 agent from the this branch was helpfull and brilliant at her job 'Keiran/ Kiran' unsure of how her name is spelt but this lady was polite well mannered had fantastic customer service skills at all times kept me up to date with whats happening apart from the 4 days she was on sick leave.. during them 4 days the other unhelpfull/ unprofesional staff had given me incorrect offer amounts.. i got 4 people to call up and check exactly what is going on and all 4 came back with different amounts from £109950, £125000, £128000, and finally £115000..? these were all the supposedly current offers on the house so anyone offering would have to offer in the excess of these that is what the agents at whitegates told the people i got to call up and enquire, so when i received the call the follwoing week asking again if i would increase my offer of £121000 i explained what i had found out and teh agent on the phone denied all this to my shock i explained i was present when the calls were made to their office to ask what the current offer on this property was and the agenst gave all 4 callers 4 different amounts i told whitegates that iam retracting all my previous offers i am not going to put my time effort and money and trust in a company that has messed me around for 4 weeks lied been caught out and not had the decency to apologise, managed to speak to 'Keiran/Keiran today who was very apologetic for the way i had been dealt with i informed her that i will be writing to head office about my experience and why in future i will not be using whitegates for buying, selling, letting or anyother service.

I am highly satisfied with

I am highly satisfied with the service I am receiving from everyone employed at the Estate Agency. From day 1 they have been professional, friendly and very understanding. In what is a difficult market place , especially for vendors, they have given sound advice and provided excellent support. They have marketed my property intensively and have ensured that I have had many prospective purchasers lining up to view. I am confident that a sale will come along soon. It is unfortunately rare today for service providers to go the extra mile to provide a genuine standard of excellence, I am delighted to state that this is NOT the case with my Estate Agents.

Whitegates managed my

Whitegates managed my property and found me tenants very quickly in June 2009 and then again in June 2010. It's an unfortunate fact that whenever they contacted me it was to inform me that I was going to have to cough up for something, but it was always necessary and always professionally done. when i decided to sell they valued the property realistically and found me a buyer quickly. I would not hesitate to use them again.

OK when you want to rent, horrible when you want to move out. Also one of the most expensive estate agents. Really poor contact, It is like you send the emails but they never respond or respond after a week.

Wojciech · 28 March 2017

Agent replied

Dear Wojciech, I’m a little disappointed with your review of us on Google. I appreciate that you was a Tenant with us for almost 4 years. During which time we charged for two renewals at £50 + vat each, which I believe is cheaper than the vast majority of Agents costs locally. In relation to moving out, we make no charge whatsoever, hence I’m not sure on what evidence you base your statement “Also one of the most expensive estate agents” We do have a duty of care to both you and the Landlord and from the file I can see we arranged an Independent Check-Out Clerk to visit the property within 24 hours of you leaving. We then organized works chased contractors and invoices and made a proposal to both you and the Landlord within a week. The Landlord did dispute the proposal on the basis, as I understand it, in part, that you have removed two blinds from the property. This we attempted to negotiate, in good faith, with both parties, with no financial gain to us. The Landlord is said he paid over £1,000 for the blinds, we quite rightly pointed out the age wear and tear and that the vast majority of the vertical blinds remained in situ. We were in the middle used our best endeavours to try to find common ground and a fair solution for both you as the Tenant and our client the Landlord. It is often seen as ‘We’ as the agent are attempting to ‘Charge’ tenants, but that is simply untrue or misunderstood. I repeat we have no financial benefit to any proposed deductions, we simply try to mediate between two parties with in this case differing views. We attempt to reach a resolution with empathy and with a little flexibility on both sides we generally do. In the event that we can’t achieve this then the matter can be referred for independent arbitration via the TDS. I’m please to say we did eventually achieve this with a deduction from your bond totalling £125.00 to cover the cost of cleaning, repairing the bath panel as well as the missing blinds. You agreed to this and £525.00 was returned to you. All in all, I think we have been fair to both parties and in honesty I do believe your review is unfair and does not give a true reflection of events. May I however, in closing genuinely wish you all the best for the future. Regards Ian

I’ve had professional dealings with Whitegates for over a year, during which I’ve seen the team ease the stress of home sales. Recently, I had no hesitations in recommending this personable estate agent to a close friend.

Cheers Roger. I think the professional photography services you provide have really enhanced our properties and made them stand out. More click through's, more viewings result in quicker sales for better prices. So it's a pleasure doing business with you! Regards Ian PS just finishing our showroom works so I'll be in touch about new office photos. I'm thinking night shots as well, to show off our new LED displays and interactive touch screen.

It is very hard to contact

It is very hard to contact them. Their responses to emails take a very long time. It is ok when you want to rent but other way around is not so good. I was waiting very long time for repairs and usually this was a quick fix. They never return the full bond so there is no point of cleaning the property even as they will clean it anyway.

Wouldn’t rate these agents one star if that was an option. May issues with property reported promptly to them and either not actioned at all or after a very long period of time. What an awful experience as a tenant. The lettings staff were problematic to deal with throughout and the whole experience in dealing with them was utterly awful.

I would recommend Whitegates Bradford from a tenants point of view. They were responsive to any maintenance requests and liaised with the landlord to accommodate new whitewear and heating for me. Calls and emails were responded to in a timely manner and generally the team were very helpful.

Hi Peter, Thank you for renewing the Tenancy Agreement with your daughter for whom you act as Guarantor. I regret it’s not quite as simple as you had hoped to alter the terms of a legally binding agreement, as I have explained.
