" The landlords are not happy to…

" The landlords are not happy to proceed on the referencing because it was not as comprehensive as they felt they needed because they would be dealing with the management of the property. It was not a case that they did not think payment would be made. I had not tried all week (?) I only spoke to them the night after the viewing in which I emailed across the offer and explained that you would like more security to which she said she would add the bolts across and that they would have an area of garden for you to use that they were happy for you to dry clothes on. With regards to the post, we discussed the possibility of you talking to the landlord once moved in about getting a more secure post-box and you were happy with these discussions"These estate agents bypassed a legal right to rent cheque . To go ahead with the tenancy and pocket there commission . After reconsideration three days before the agreed move in date they back tracked and voided our tenency . Leaders have no regard for people's circumstances or the impact of such changes I would not recommend these estate agents .

Bad experience

First initial dealings with this bunch and what a disaster it was. They allowed a viewing to be booked in without telling us until the day of the viewing that it was only a 6 month let. What made it even worse is I saw the house up for sale with the these lot as well. I then approached their sales department to get an understanding and some clarity as to what was the deal with the house, I was met by an abrupt, rude and unhelpful agent who basically said he thinks it's been taken off the market. Well clearly it hasn't been taken off the market due to being told on the day of viewing that it's for 6 months. Bad practice and not clear on any of their lettings/sales.

BAD Experience - Lack integrity!

As a landlord for the past 8 years with several properties, I decided to rent a house through Leaders, so I would be in a better position to buy when the opportunity presented itself. I am writing this genuine review not only as a landlord myself but also as a tenant who was under the management of leaders. All seemed to be well with Leaders until checkout and I was vacating the property, where they completely lacked integrity...Firstly, it took over 10 DAYS for them to raise any issue with paying back my deposit but after emailing them twice I then got some answers. They claimed the following: £450.00 for damages to the fridge which include;Replacement upper freezer drawer - £60.00Replacement lower freezer drawer - £65.00Two replacement middle drawers £120.00Replacement salad drawer - £35.00Fitting - £90.00Compensation for dent in door - £80.00Firstly, I was completely fine with paying the £80 for the dent, this was a mistake I made. (Lesson learned, don't rush around when you're moving out) But the rest I was not happy with, especially with the fact I reported a fridge freezer drawer being broken once I moved in before use, which they said they would ensure this was taken note of so It wouldn't be an issue at checkout. (It wasn't noted, but thankfully I recorded everything which came in handy) In short, after being a Landlord for the past 8 years, I knew with their expensive charges they were trying to pull a fast one. In 8 years I have never tried to take advantage of tenants and quite frankly its companies like Leaders AND the landlords of the property I was living in, that give landlords in general a bad name. Of course I disputed the expensive deduction of my deposit that Leaders and the landlords of the property put forward with the relevant deposit scheme and... I won. Leaders don't try and take advantage of tenants. We all knew... Me, you, the landlords, and the deposit scheme that your charges were ridiculous. This really did not have to be all drawn out, but you insisted.I will not be recommending you at all from either a landlord's point of view or a tenant's.

I cannot emphasize enough how horrendous my experience with Theodore and Alicia from Nottingham-based agency "Leaders" has been. This agency is a textbook example of how not to run a business, treating their clients with utter disregard and callousness. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to steer clear. Here's a summary of my nightmarish encounter with them:**1. Nonexistent Communication:**One of the most glaring issues with Leaders is their complete lack of communication. They are remarkably efficient when it comes to collecting payments, but when it comes to addressing concerns or providing the services they promised, they disappear into thin air. It's as if they believe that once they have your money, they owe you nothing in return. Emails and phone calls go unanswered, and any attempt to reach out for assistance is met with indifference.**2. Misleading Property Descriptions:**Theodore and Alicia showcased properties with pictures that appeared enticing at first glance. However, the grim reality upon moving in was a far cry from the images they portrayed. The properties were plagued with damp, mold, and numerous other issues that posed a threat to our health and safety. When these concerns were brought to their attention, Leaders refused to accept any responsibility and offered no assistance whatsoever. It's clear that their primary objective is to deceive and mislead clients to secure a quick deal.**3. Legal Hassles and Rent Refunds:**To address the abhorrent living conditions they subjected us to, I was left with no choice but to file a complaint with the council. The battle doesn't end there, as I now find myself constantly chasing their elusive legal team to secure the refund I am owed. This ordeal has not only been emotionally draining but has also cost me significant time and money, all thanks to Leaders' complete lack of professionalism and accountability.**4. Deceptive Use of WhatsApp:**Adding to the litany of issues, Leaders' employees Theodore and Alicia resort to using WhatsApp for communication. However, when you attempt to reference these conversations as evidence of their promises or commitments, the agency conveniently disavows any connection to these communications, claiming that WhatsApp is their "personal" means of contact. This blatant deceit is indicative of the agency's overall approach to client relations.In conclusion, I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid dealing with Theodore and Alicia at Leaders in Nottingham. This agency has demonstrated a complete lack of ethics, accountability, and professionalism. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I implore anyone reading this review to heed my warning and find a reputable agency that values its clients and upholds its commitments. Leaders in Nottingham should be avoided at all costs.

So first time in a rental property…

So first time in a rental property after 30+ years of being an owner. From the very first enquiry at Leaders they have treated me with respect and understanding, they understood my needs and acted fast in responding to my requirements. My dealings with Lauren, Mark, Jennifer and Aimee have all been great, fast response times to and email or phone call, nothing seems to much to ask. Be careful who you trust

I appointed Leaders to sell my mothers house. The sales person was friendly and efficient. After I negotiated the fee down to market norms (1%, not 1.25%) he said we needed to obtain money laundering compliance and directed us to 'Lifetime Legal' as their 'preferred partner', for an additional fee. Other Estate Agent include this in their fee. Lifetime Legal followed up with a call to do checks, but there was strong pressure from them to take their conveyancing service, and pay there and then, and to become a 'member of 'Lifetime Legal' for an additional fee (see me Lifetime Legal review). I was very concerned about this pressure, and I refused these add on services. phoned my Leaders sales person to inform about the bad service I'd received. He then (though only after pushing) admitted that Leaders and Lifetime Legal are formally linked. I was angry at being misled by being pushed into a process that would apply such pressure and terminated the agreement immediately. Lack of integrity, transparency and openness.

They hold to your deposit longer than they should

17 days after getting the report back from the end of tenancy check-out inspection where nothing detected was tenants responsibility and we still haven’t received the deposit back... 8 days ago we received an email from the TDS that the money had been released by Leaders and still no deposit back... if you want to get your deposit back quickly you’re better off not paying rent for the last couple of months

All our BTL's were with Town and Country and we were pleased with their service. T&C was taken over by Leaders and during this transition and for some time after the service deteriorated and there were very many changes in personnel creating frustration and confusion. At the start of 2023 Aimee Taylor became our property manager and I'm pleased to report that she has done a great job and has been responsive and professional. It proves that a businesses success is all down to its people.
