GoogleWoman who answered phone was extremely rude and racist - I explained I wanted to sell a property in Bournemouth - she then made a big deal about not being able to spell my name - it’s a common Asian name - even though I spelled it out to her clearly three times how tone was aggressive throughout - note to the manager you should ensure staff have basic manners

GoogleI usually don’t like to write a review. I own a business and don’t like when people are complaining unreasonable, But my experience with Martin & Co made me write one. I was in a 12 month tenancy agreement and i wanted to move out from the property before the end of my tenancy,. I was happy to pay the release fee which was £360. I paid the fee and they had 5 months time to relet the property. They put it on the market, they had lots of viewings ( more than 20). But they didn’t give it to anyone, why? My tenancy agreement ended 5 months after paying the release fee. The flat was let by another letting agency straight after I left it. So i was charged £360 for nothing and they put me in a stressful situation. My only concern is why they couldn’t let it again in that long time while the other agency did it within 2 weeks for the same price. BE AWARE !!!
Dear Kaywan, We are sorry that you feel you were unfairly treated, however as you point out we conducted ‘more than 20’ viewings at the property which suggests we were doing our very best to secure a new tenant. Conducting these many viewings represents a considerable investment of time and resources and this is why we charge a release fee. Many factors come into play when marketing a property, for the most part we were conducting viewings in the lead up to the Tenants Fee Ban on the 1st June (our final viewing being in mid May) and it is worth noting that the other agent secured a tenant after the Fee Ban had been introduced. We acknowledge that this has been a very frustrating episode for you, we are also disappointed that were not able to secure a new tenant however we do feel that we did everything that could reasonably have been expected of us in this endeavour. GoogleI have recently moved into a Bournemouth Martin&Co property and I am absolutely thrilled. I have had such a bad experience with other agents previously and was starting to lose hope, but then I found these guys! Firstly, i'd like to mention Daniel who showed me the first viewings and dealt with the referencing ect... I must have sent hundreds of different questions and he never got fed up and answered everything in detail. I was re-assured throughout the referencing and kept informed - which made me feel at ease. Secondly, after the referencing was completed I was ready to collect keys and get the ball rolling - this is when I met Monica. She has been my main port of call and has been dealing with me pestering her constantly via email (Sorry). She dealt with the deposit/rent ect and this all went through really quickly and easily. She has been so friendly and I feel like I can approach her about anything! Everytime I email, it has always been responded to within 24 hours - the communication is amazing! Last, but no means least - David (Property Manager). He unexpectedly called me on the date I moved in and introduced himself and that he would be managing the property - which I thought was very kind and professional. I'd usually not been introduced to people, until there was a problem! After being in the flat for a while I started to notice minor problems, therefore I contacted David and reported them (bombarding him with messages/emails - Sorry). My problem was reported early morning and the contractor had been out and resolved/fixed the issue by the end of the day!! I am so happy and confident in the service going forward. I would highly recommend Martin&Co to anyone and this has been the best dealing I have had with any lettings agents. This experience has completely changed my view on renting from an agent and I am totally relaxed/excited to have a long tenancy ahead with Martin&Co. Thank you to you all :)

GoogleCurrently undergoing a horrendous end-of-tenancy nightmare with this branch. They were extremely welcoming at the start of the tenancy. Then less than two years in, they announced, cheerily, via an unexpected phonecall, that the house was up for sale, giving us less than two months to find a new place, no help finding an alternative, and all they want to do is quibble about exactly how much money I owe them! They know we have a small baby, and they do not care. I have rented in three countries. These are THE worst. Beware!!
We really sympathised with the tenants, after we learnt that the landlord had decided to sell the property. We initially telephoned the family to act in an empathetic with them before we served the statutory two months’ notice to give an explanation of the situation. We requested from the husband a full specification of their requirements and offered to look for a comparable property in their area of choice, without charge, but could not find what they required. We understand they found another rental property and we agreed with our landlord to only partly charge the final month of the tenancy as a gesture of goodwill. The tenants have accepted that they incorrectly calculated the rent money due for the final 20 days and have now agreed to pay this amount. As a Lettings company we represent the landlords' wishes and it is their prerogative to sell their property. We acted in a professional manner and respected our duty of care to both the tenants and the landlord.

GoogleIn nearly 9 years of privately renting in Bournemouth I’ve never felt so safe in trusting Martin & Co Bournemouth team. I had my first experience with the office briefly in 2012 and again in 2016. Each member of the team will always help with anything, regardless of the individuals role - I’ve always been treated with such respect, all very helpful, personable and with a touch of humour. When needing to report any issues with my property, always been such a rapid response and excellent communication to keep me informed every step of the way. I’ve not had all of the qualities you require from a letting agent in any others except these guys - and I’ve moved around a lot. To feel safe in how your property is being managed and safeguarded that you’re not being exploited through an agent or private lettings is rare but you can feel totally at ease with these. At the beginning careful explanation given to go through the important documents to ensure fully informed and understanding the fees etc (which are so reasonable compared to most other agents in the area..) and I wouldn’t recommend any others than this agent and team. You all do an amazing job and thank you for making it so easy to be a relaxed tenant.
