Steve Duggdale dealt with our sale with professionalism and respect. We had other agents round to value and discuss the property, but they didn't seem bothered to try and obtain the best price, just told us this would be what it would fetch. But Steve said he would go the extra mile trying to match our property with the right buyer and obtain the best price, and he did. Anyone thinking of selling in and around the Bournemouth area should look no further than House and Son, their flyer leaflet stated they could obtain above market sales price and they did exactly that. A very smooth transaction with good communication between purchaser, solicitor and ourselves mean't it was one of the easiest sales we have ever had. In today's world where everyone is trying to save money, and internet agents charging no commission look great, ask yourself this, If we had looked at the three other agents that visited our property, and say gone for an average of those figures, and put it with an internet agency we would have been twenty thousand pounds worse off, so in our case the agent was definitely worth their commission Bill & Linda Tanner

Dishonest Agency

I used this agency to rent a flat. But when it came to returning my deposit House and Son Lettings attempted to keep as much of it as they could by charging me for things that were wrong with the flat before I moved in!! I looked at Google reviews and could see in the one stars that other people have had this same horrible experience! Unfairly keeping a big part of a tenant's deposit is totally dishonest! I would advise not to use this untrustworthy agency for renting a flat.

I would like to point out that the comments listed by other people relate solely to House & Son Estate Agents and NOT to House & Son Auctioneers, who are a completely separate company. Some of the photographs on google show the Auctioneers office and not the estate office and are therefore very misleading. I have dealt with House & Son Auctioneers for many years and will continue to do so, as their service is exemplary. I have also had dealings with the Estate office who have been highly professional in all respects.

Awful service

We were running 5 minutes late to view a property as were coming straight from work. Around 15 minutes later after arriving we rang the agent as we didn't understand where he was. The response we got was arrogant and sarcastic saying he had got bored of waiting. All he had to do was to give us a call and I could have told him we were running a few minutes late and we would be there shortly. He ended up utterly wasting our time and being very very rude which was not necessary. Would not go near these agents again.

Warning to potential tenants. Team are all friendly and supportive whilst you are looking to rent but as soon as you're in the service lacks all manner of support. They also do their utmost to prevent retuning your deposit when leaving, resulting in a dispute via TDS (I know of others having faced the same). Be warned and record/take as many pics when you first enter your rental, these will be needed at a later date. Or avoid and use another company and save yourself future hassle

PROCEDED WITH CAUTION!!!! Lived in a student flat in wilton, Simon and others favour landlords with extortionate claims against tenants to benefit themselves. Ended up loosing >50% of deposit over false claims. Make sure you take detailed inventory photos and notes otherwise they will get you !!

I tried to sell my penthouse through this company. Unfortunately I missed the top of the market, so withdrew it from the market recently. However, Simon at House & Son couldn't have tried harder, arranged lots of viewings, and got an interested buyer, but we couldn't quite meet on price. Very nice guy too, easy to deal with. I'm sorry he didn't earn a fee on this, but he couldn't have tried harder. So I just wanted to recognise that, and recommend House & Son to property sellers, given my very positive experience.

If you use this agency for renting then make sure you take a video of every part of the property when you first move in, as the inventory check out will try to keep a big chunk of your deposit by unfairly charging you for things that existed in the property before you moved in.
