Palmer Snell Weymouth are a brilliant team. James, Ella and Emily provided a high class professional service during the sale of our house. They coordinated with both legal parties and kept buyer and seller on board at each stage. Would definitely use them again. A 5 star service.

Absolute joke

We tried to book in to view a property 4 times over the past few weeks. They 'pencilled it in' only to discover they never actually did, it was just to get you off the phone. We have since been told this property is off the market, but yet it is still on their website, rightmove and zoopla. I do not think the Bournemouth branch especially Gavin and Shahob are interested in selling properties.

I have recently moved into my first flat through Palmer Snell and the service has been excellent. The whole process was so simple and Lee Gilmore was so helpful. He took the time to explain every step of the process as I didn’t really know what I was doing! He was very patient and understanding, making the whole process so easy. Everything was done very quickly, and professionally and I was kept updated throughout. Would definitely recommend.

We recently let out our property. Really happy with the service and fair landlord fees. Their start up fees are higher than most, however the monthly percentage is a lot lower, so worth checking. We are moving from the area, so I asked for the property to be managed fully, and Lee made it so easy. Unfortunately there was some damage in the property resulting in a leak that affected the neighbours. Lucky for us the palmer snell team sorted everything. One thing to note, when telling us the costs for the repairs etc we where given options in the price, we weren't just forced to pay something. Also they went though everything step by step.

ALL THIS AGENT CARES ABOUT IS SCAMMING YOU!! Upon our initial viewing of the property we now live in Zach (who now doesn't work there anymore... strange) told us we were allowed pets provided we pay extra on top of the non-refundable agency fee -- keep in mind that if we were not allowed pets, we would have never even considered moving here in the first place. Lisa was aware of this too, who strangely doesn't work there anymore either. All has been going okay for the past 6 months until we received a letter yesterday expressing the landlord's disappointment to hear that we had pets and to dispose of them soon as possible. All this time we were led to believe the landlord was okay with our pets but as it turns out Palmer Snell either never told him or just don't care. Palmer Snell LIED TO US and SCREWED US OVER for the purpose of scamming us out of extra £££ for their fees. We refuse to just get rid of our beloved animals like objects because of this thieving agency lying through their teeth so now we've had to cancel our upcoming holiday (which we've been looking forward to all year, thanks a lot) for the purpose of searching for a new place. I will definitely never consider Palmer Snell again and advise everyone I know not to work with them. DISHONEST LIARS.

Would definitely recommend Palmer Snell Wells/Shepton Mallet

In September 2025 my purchase of a house was completed. I bought the house through Palmer Snell, the Wells/Shepton Mallet branch. The staff there - Carole, Abbie and Madison - were brilliant! They were not only lovely, friendly and approachable but also kept chasing the other estate agents involved and the various solicitors constantly to get the sale completed as quickly as possible. They were also very supportive when my first sale fell through. Luckily I had a buyer 2 days later. They were then so helpful in getting things finalised and insuring that I could still purchase this house, which has turned out to be such a lovely place to live.

Avoid Westbourne Branch - they will do the bare minimum after you sign a contract

After sending my feedback directly to Palmer Snell over a week ago and as expected not receiving a response, i will now post here.My partner and I decided to both sell our flats to hopefully buy somewhere together. As two first time sellers, we have had an awful experience with Palmer Snell. Please see the reasons below we decided to take both properties off the market with Palmer Snell and list with a different agent.- From the first viewing onwards, we have had to constantly chase for feedback for days and days later. This was frustrating from the get-go, especially with the difficulty of getting through to the office. On some days, I called hourly all day to try and actually get through to someone. I dread to think how difficult it would be to try and arrange a viewing.-On multiple occasions, it would take weeks to get a response to a text or email despite multiple follow-up emails and voicemails. This started once we had signed a contract; before signing the contracts, we would get responses within hours, which never quite sat right with us.- At one point, a potential buyer asked questions regarding the lease, which I provided the same day to Palmer Snell. When I called to ask about this potential buyer a week later, I was told the agent had been too busy to read the lease and asked if I could do it instead. At this point, the buyer was no longer interested. No apology for the lack of communication or incompetency was provided. It was a 'why don't you do yourself' approach. If we wanted to sell the properties ourselves, we wouldn't have hired an agent.-When we had valuations for both of our properties, we were told photographers would be attending. This was never arranged for my property despite chasing this up multiple times. Photos were taken on an iPhone, which would not have been a problem if we were not told differently prior to signing a contract.-We were also told our listing would be premium listings - it took multiple emails and calls to actually get this to happen which we found really unprofessional.-Throughout, there has just been an overall lack of contact - every update from pre and post-sale we have needed to chase for ourselves. There was no initiative to help the sale through or to provide any form of reassurance. As a first-time seller, this is something I really struggled with, and the whole process has lacked any form of personal touch or consideration and ultimately just been made as stressful as possible. We now have a complete lack of confidence that Palmer Snell has been doing everything possible to help with the sale. To be entirely honest, I would have resented making payment if the sale were to have continued, as it would be for a service that has only ever involved opening the front door around five times, nothing more. We both had a really good impression after meeting Michael and Connor at the valuations and are really shocked at how we have been treated. The silver- lining of our flats being marketed elsewhere is that we will not have to make payment to Palmer Snell but to an agent who is willing to do the work. On a side note, since listing the properties elsewhere within only a matter of weeks ago we now have an offer at full asking price, our experience with the new agent could not have been more different.

I received great service from the moment I walked into the Taunton branch. The contract to let was clear and personalised to my requirements. Alice and Jay Jay kept me informed almost daily and they work really well as a team. This has been the best letting service I have ever received. Highly recommend.

After making a business buying and selling properties and always using the same agent we decided it was worth giving a different agent a go at selling for us. This has been our biggest mistake. Asking Palmer snell to sell one of our flats has been chaos and stressful. Within just a few days of signing the contract and being told the property would be listed we became concerned why the property was nowhere to be seen. We contacted the agent who assured us by the next day it would be live online for sale. Imagine our frustration after daily calls, one week later the property was still not even listed. Every day we were told, tomorrow. In the end, I called the agent and said I wanted to terminate the contract if they couldn’t get the property listed that night. So that night a photo of the outside of the building with no description appears online. The next day I called the agent to ask when the information will be put on and all the photos. They said tomorrow!! We decided to leave it 48 hours and call back. At this point, I also discover it’s being sold as a freehold and not a leasehold. Again we are told, don’t worry we have people viewing the property. We will get the information up. Obviously, people would view the property just to see what it looks like rather than viewing it because they like the photos. Here we are now 14 days later still nothing online except the outside photo. No floor plan, no photos, incorrect wording. The agents are refusing to let us out the contract and refusing to post the legally required details to sell a property online. They have now informed us that we have no right to sell it with somebody else and they will be making no effort to get the ad appropriately live and running. As you can imagine, this is a financial disaster when selling a rental property. I hope if anyone reads this, they know never to use Palmer snell.

There has been a varied staff turnover in the past but the current team have been there awhile now and are hard working and helpful and inspire confidence. If you have a property to rent

If you have a property to rent and are looking which letting agent to use- AVOID Palmer Snell. We have just got (what's left) of our property after being rented for over 2 years with Palmer Snell. In that time they let the property degrade to an extent that the deposit will go nowhere near to fix the damage. 4 inspection reports were done - all very brief (4 words for one of them!). Very few photos and none addressing the big issues. In the 1st 6 months most of the garden panels were destroyed and removed by the tenants. This was never picked up on (even with the lone fence post in the middle of the garden being quite a big clue). rats had got in but the major floor damage *and urine smell) was not picked up on. If you have a property to rent, ignore all the lovely words Palmer Snell will say about what they will do and go with, ideally, a local letting agency.

To start with the property was over valued. I had 7 no shows! I have sold 4 properties in my life and have never had a no show! This wasted a substantial amount of time wasted cleaning the house for viewings. On one viewing I had a 1 hour notice (which turned out to be a no show, which was rescheduled for later in the day and that was also a no show!). They were not able to contact viewers after all viewings apart from one (and even on a second viewing!). I had to chase for feedback several times. None of my calls were returned. The wrong keys were picked up for one viewing. This had been 5 months of wasted time and costs for me. The whole thing was a shambles and I'm amazed they are still in business! Update: I've already replied to a "I'm sorry your leaving" email from Palmer Snell with the above plus more. This you have clearly not seen.

Deanne at the Martock branch couldn't have been more friendly and helpful from the time she took my phone call requesting a viewing and showing my husband and I round the property 2 hours later. She made our viewing so easy, was professional and offered advice when requested.

Very poor experience while buying a house through Palmer Snell: despite saying themselves that the seller was in a real hurry, and being assured that the memorandum of sale should only take 48 hours to send out, 10 days later there has been no progress whatsoever. Despite multiple phone calls apologising for the delay and assuring me the matter would be 'escalated', instead they have now chosen to simply stop answering the phone. I could not recommend if you are looking for either speed or professionalism in your estate agents. UPDATE, Clearly, the team at Palmer Snell have read my previous review and thought "no no, you haven't seen anything yet, we're capable of being so much more useless". I now find that as far back as 7 weeks ago, the vendor of the property I thought I was buying had in fact ended her contract with Palmer Snell, and not instructed her solicitors to proceed further. Annoying, but such is life. Did Daryl from Palmer Snell think to mention this to me or my solicitors though? They did not. They did email the vendor's solicitors, asking them to try and persuade her to change her mind, which was as unsuccessful as it was unprofessional. Did they think to let me know at least after that didn't work? Once again, no. So today when I hear all this from the ex-vendor's solicitors, via my own, I call up and speak to the lovely Nathan who, after checking their system, reassured me that all looked fine on their side, and the sale should be proceeding with no issues at all as far as they were aware. Reassuring, but unfortunately a complete and utter bare-faced lie. TL;DR Lied, ignored me, omitted vital information which cost me several thousand pounds, lied a lot more. Avoid like the plague.
