TrustpilotThe most shocking service ive ever had.
The most shocking service ive ever had. About to move into a house i was informed by the cleaners that were cleaning my current property that the house smelt of cat urine. So having not signed the tenacy agreement i wanted to inspect the house . As i walked in it smelt of cat pee . I informed them im not moving in . As after 3 days of cleaning the cat smell was still there . As i paid six months up front i requested my money back. Not even a phone call back. That was 19 days ago. Cheers connells andover .

TrustpilotAVOID WELWYN GARDEN CITY BRANCH AT ALL…
AVOID WELWYN GARDEN CITY BRANCH AT ALL COST!!!Unless of course you enjoy dealing with unprofessional sales staff...My horrendous experience started badly when the previous branch manger came out to value my property and felt it was more appropriate to talk to me about his personal life and how he’s having an affair with one of the girls from the St Albans branch. Nor was I interested or did I care... I just wanted him to sell my property.First week on the market after making it quite clear I wanted no one in my house wearing shoes... to my amazement muddy foot prints all up the stairs and in the bedrooms. I had to pay for professional carpet cleaning. They also used my bathroom on this same visit, I think this in itself is disgusting but they couldn’t even be bothered to clean up after themselves. I returned home from work at 9pm that evening to clean feces from the pan and urine from the toilet seat and floor. If this wasn’t insulting enough the toilet seat also remained up. My house is always immaculate especially on days where there are viewings scheduled, I cleaned the bathroom especially that morning.I was furious and demanded a cancellation of contract and key returned. I threatened with making a complaint to head office but was bribed with a very reduced fee of £1500inc vat. I only considered staying as the branch manager left and they brought in a new girl who seemed very nice and on the ball. I gave her 4 weeks to sell the house before changing agents. She infact sold my property in the first 3 weeks, happy days! But unfortunately it fell through the day before exchange so subsequently back on the market. My disappointment was not with her, she was professional and looked after my house as I’d asked her to but unfortunately has not been well so is working reduced hours which means her manager has had to take some viewings. He left all the lights on upstairs for 48 hours last week, I did not return home that evening as I didn’t think he would dare not leave the house as he found it!!!The last straw for me....I contacted him in regards to feedback from 3 viewings that had taken place 3 days previous... (yes you have to call for offers and feedback) they never keep you updated. He then informed me of an offer of £20k under asking price. He told me this was a cash buyer (but not ready to proceed for 5 months) and a very good offer and that I should seriously consider accepting. I found this extremely insulting. I was being asked to take my property off the market for £20k under asking price and to wait 5 months to even exchange and that’s if this ‘cash buyer’ didn’t pull out in the meantime. Lots of other niggly bits I wasn’t half impressed with but these are the main disappointments to me. STAY AWAY... THEY ARE AN UTTER SHAMBLES!!

TrustpilotAbsolutely horrible service
Absolutely horrible service. I rented the flat on 20 of August with Connels. After i had moved , i reported them some faults in the property. How many times i called and emailed i could not count but they did not call me back or reply my email back then i pop in the their office i tried to explain my issues. There was nobody from letting team they said and eventually! They called me back. I told her my issues and wanted to cancel my home insurance policy and she said to me "i should have canceled my direct debit without tell up anything. Can you believe that ?! Bizarre !She thought i was a young and forgein man and i did not know how it works in this country.!!" The last conversation was a week ago and i m still waiting they are going to sort it out !! ridiculous and unresponsible services. Thank for your great professionalism !!

TrustpilotSUTTON COLDFIELD BRANCH
SUTTON COLDFIELD BRANCH - ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL!!! AVOIDMy experience with the lettings and sales divisions of this branch have resulted in me going through the complaints proceedings ready to escalate to the Property Ombudsman and beyond as professional negligence cases. It is my opinion that the staff employed at this branch are rude, dishonest and totally and utterly incompetent. There is a serious problem with the culture at this branch and how they are allowed to remain open is a damning indictment of the regulatory bodies at a national level. Totally, totally unacceptable!!

TrustpilotStay away from this estate agent!!!!
The worst estate agent I have ever known. Please take my advice and go else where, DO NOT TRY AND SELL YOUR HOUSE THROUGH THEM.The make sure you sign the contract with them at their premises which means you cannot take advantage of the 14 day get out clause. They dont tell you the contract is a 26 week contract either. The fees are extortionate as well. They take on too many houses so when you ring up to get an update, which by the way is the only way you will find anything out as they will never ring you to Let you know what is happening, they do not know who you are or any details about you. Not personal at all. They proved this by posting a business card through our door, claiming they could sell our house less than a week after we finally managed to terminate the contract with them. 2 viewings in 4 months they gave us. Total lack of communication, no updates and no new ideas of how they could try and sell our house. Their financial advisor in Amesbury is a really nice guy and if you did need any advice I would recommend him, but not the sales team. Such an awful experience from start to finish and has totally put us off trying to sell our house. Please take my advice and go else where. There are plenty of better estate agents out there that will provide you a much better and more personal experience!

TrustpilotBristol Henbury branch
Bristol Henbury branch. Absolutely abysmal. Barely any communication, tell myself one thing and my partner another. They just throw estate agent jargon at you. The manager even told me that estate agents are ‘Solicitors representatives on earth’. They pushed us to go with Talbots solicitors as they claimed they have great lines of communication with them but this was just another lie. It’s been EIGHT months since we started the buying process with them and our mortgage offer is about to run out. Still not moved.

TrustpilotTop tier customer service !
Top tier service from Sophie and the rest of the team at Plymouth branch. Unfortunately I had an awful experience with my conveyancers (convoy law), which in the most simple form, lacked communication with everyone. They were very difficult to get hold of or even get a response from and were incapable of keeping me and anyone else informed. Over time this become extremely stressful but thankfully to connells they where prompt to help during the stress and went above and beyond in all departments with any queries and did not hesitate to help, advise and push things forward. Very professional and extremely helpful, I could not recommend enough. What started as a bad experience as a first time buyer turned into a positive one thanks to all at the branch. A Massive thank you to sophie for overseeing and really showing what good customer service is all about!Thank you again !

So firstly, one of the staff had laughed saying it would be a miracle if i passed referencing. I explained my situation with having 2 step children who live with me part time aswell as my own child, which i was told was okay,as was asking for stuff to be removed from the property. When discussing with the landlord,he had been told i wanted everything and that i was a complete liar! Diagusting behaviour,it has led to the landlord pulling out and us now having nowhere to live. Im now worried im not going to get my holding deposit or zero deposit back.

Trustpilotthey are unbelievable
they are unbelievable. Im very disappointed about how connells are handling us as tenants. Firstly, the transition into this property went anything but smoother, with the real estate providing us with the wrong set of keys resulting in us being locked out of the property with nowhere to go on a Friday night. We were not provided with an apology or explanation and it was left to us to fix. Further, we have been here since December. Initially on our check sheet for any issues with the property, we stated that the blinds in the second room were not installed. We were told this would be chased up as soon as possible. After several more weeks past we had an inspection in which I stated to the inspector the blinds have still not been installed in the second room. I was told this would be chased up with the owners. A few more weeks passed and I put in a form online through the Connels repairs website, to which i received an email saying this would be chased up immediately, but this once again was never followed up with me. Today I have made a phone call, once again to the real estate agent in maidstone about the blinds and have been told, once again, this would be chased up immediately. We have been living here for 4 months and still we have no blinds. Why is it so hard to fix what is supposedly their responsibility to fix, I can only report it so many times. the issue is still progressing till now that I'm writing this.

Trustpilot"Smoothly" process could cost my family's life!!!
The worst experience ever. They told me that house its ready to live... All ready in 3 month we spend 10000 for repair. Roof and rest. When I ask them early for full building survey thay offer that as thay can booking it for me. Survey was but not full. With out electrican and gas safe check... One day before completion thay provide me first title insurance policy coverage for known risk, and told me that insurance what ex owner get for me coz he did not have safe checks. One month earlie I told them if owner will be not happy to pay for safe checks, Im ready to do that. Coz safe of my family its more worth than 130 £. So, they keept me waiting and after cuplle months they provide me insurance with out any explain how this insurance gona work... Never use them service agane. One thing what they care its to take yours money.. much as they can. 3 weeks ago all my family get carbon monoxide poisoning. Boiler installation from 12.2015 was absolutely ridiculous what gas safe inspector said thats why gas flue from boiler get disconected cupple months earlie..... Defenetly house ready to live!!!

TrustpilotExtortionate Fees Charged to Tennant
Myself and my partner looked to rent a house available to let through Connels. Met the landlord at the property, got along great, he showed us around and we loved it! Great you'd think? Then the "estate agent" from Connels turned up (10 mins late), in a scruffy looking suit. We'd already seen around the property and began negotiations with the landlord regarding rent etc. We then asked the scruffy looking agent how to proceed, he began to list fees we'd need to pay for two people renting. Thee fees he listed totalled £684!!! Yup, that's Six Hundred Eighty Four pounds!! For two people to be credit checked. This is a non-refundable amount, not counted towards any deposit or first months rent. They seem to think that a Tenancy Agreement requires a £210 rewrite, and that the Tenant is liable for an "Inventory Check" (OF THE LANDLORDS PROPERTY)! There's then the fact that'll require a further £114 every SIX MONTHS to "renew/extend" a contract. Absolute rip off merchants, and no wonder the government has to get involved to stop agents extorting fees from tenants! Connels, you're a disgrace and I for one will be glad to see government regulations in place to limit the amount you can extort from tenants.

Already left a review titled horrific a month back. I chased repairs again this morning. They waited until 1729 and sent a email with a fake business qoute for 900 pound and tried to blame me for repairs. Truth is if they fixed bathroom wen reported in 2017 the issues would not have hapoened. They waited til they went home to send email so i couldnt discuss. Awful awful company.

TrustpilotLettings Wednesbury
I am relocating from London to the Midlands and have found Iana (I hope correct spelling) to be brilliant! I was shocked by the lapse couldn't care less attitude of most of the lettings agencies and found Iana to be pro-active, helpful and really go that extra mile. She ensured no-one else could view the properties whilst I was driving up from London, 2 other agencies cancelled viewings as I was driving! The process to date has been easy and Iana has kept in touch with me the whole way through. I would not hesitate to recommend Iana and the team in Wednesbury. Thank you :)

TrustpilotSellers and buyers my experience
I would seriously consider and be concerned if I was selling with these. Very on the bull to try and get you onto there books. I had two viewings as a buyer both times questions were never answered on several occasions and even when chased several times. Passed my personal details on when specifically told not to. Offered as a buyer pretty close to ready to go and incorrect info supplied to vendors who took a lower offer with someone who may not have been in any better position but was lower also. Even when offer made and with same question asked over and over no response. Sellers beware buyers also as not a good experience with any of the staff of which 4 or 5 were involved. I would suggest internal communication is non existing and like all on targets of some kind. This was in relation to the High Wycombe branch.

TrustpilotFirst time buyers- stay clear
As first time buyers the estate agents were terrible. We had a mortgage in principle yet they still insisted we could not proceed until we spoke to their mortgage advisor. They took a week to get us ‘qualified’ to put in an offer and because of this we lost out on our house. There was a lack of communication and lack of explanations and all round rude service. Would not recommend one bit

TrustpilotThe worst agent I’ve ever dealt with…
The worst agent I’ve ever dealt with before. They absolutely stand on the landlord’s side and never consider the tenant’s side. They’ve helped the ridiculous and unreasonable landlord to claim all our deposits. Our landlord and neighbours spied on us and slandered us. Our landlord being so unreasonable claiming us for redecoration that they should really spend to redecorate before renting to another tenant. They’ve avoided this cost by claiming all our deposits. Actually they didn’t even decorate/refurnished the house before renting to us. They didn’t even clean up the property before renting to us. Then they would claim us on cleaning and redecorating the property. The agency believes the landlord their client. Never consider and care about us.

TrustpilotStafford branch and Midlands area: Shady company, lies, false allegations
This company sent me a paper claiming I breached tenancy and that police were here at night on July 4th. I told them no police were here at night or on the 4th and I complained. After explaining laws to them they sent me an s21.When I tried to explain over the phone or ask questions the Branch manager proceeded to cut me off on phone and wouldn't let me ask questions. so I escalated it to complaints..... I was then told it was actually the landlord who told them this information (despite landlord living nowhere near me) and the area manager gaslighted me so I escalated it.... then the compliance managers claimed I had no complaint then told me to go to the ombudsman and shoved the s21 in my face over and over... despite me stating over and over my complaint was the breach tenancy they sent me that was false and the branch managers behavior towards me. No acknowledgement of being given breachpapers being false and no apology. Was told they "send this to the landlord regardless if I disagree or not if someone makes an anonymous tip." So the company is admitting that they will serve you breach papers based on false allegations regardless if you can provide proof and they don't care if the landlord is doing anything shady. The only person who didn't seem shady was Will; however one person being great is outweighed by the rest of the staff.

TrustpilotTHE WORST ESTATE AGENTS IN SWINDON
The very worst Estate agents by far! I reported a maintenance issue and was told to watch a YouTube video to resolve it. The tenancy ended in May 24 and they wanted to claim from my deposit. I raised a dispute and they charged their minds. I am still waiting for my deposit 6weeks after the tenancy ended. They have no sense of urgency (not to tenants in my opinion) and will frustrate the hell out of you. Very poor customer service and they don't care about you. Don't be fooled by the brand name. Avoid doing business with them if you want peace of mind.
