Moved into a rental property that was not ready on time, then moved in at a delayed date to find the property wasn't clean and the broken oven that was meant to be replaced was still in there. Within three days, we discovered the house was infested with fleas and had to leave with all our belongings still in the home. We had an agreement that the tenancy would be terminated immediately and monies returned to us and had to wait until the house had been professionally treated to be able to get any household items out. Refund kept being promised by the branch, yet was nowhere to be seen, after making a formal complaint to head office - we now finally have our funds paid back after three months from the date we moved out. Everything that could of gone wrong with this rental experience, did indeed go wrong. Staff at the branch were polite, just everything was handled in the most shambolic way ever. Wouldn't recommend from my personal experience.

Ashford, Kent.I guess with a large company your experience sometimes comes down to the branch, and I have to say that the team at Ashford were excellent throughout the whole process. Nathan gave a solid assessment of value and lined up a strong batch of buyers. It’s a good market and we had lots of offers, but he checked them all throughly and gave us the information we needed to make a wise decision on the offer to take. The bit where they really came into their own was the progression and updates that helped us get the exchange. Tracey always came back quickly and managed to move things forward each time. If for any reason she wasn’t available everyone in the branch stepped up to help. Our chain held together, and my Mum is now happily living in her new home. Truly excellent work.

Stay away from them

I used their service for let only because their price was cheaper than other estate agents. It was a simple process. Pictures were already online and the tenants were found the next day. But the communications afterwards were poor, staff dealing with it totally locking of professionalism and responsibility! I had to keep calling their manager in another branch to ask what was happening and chase the result. On the day the tenants were supposed to go to the branch to get the keys, the shop was closed! Even it was a normal working day and no reason was informed! I will never use them again!

Terrible service

Terrible service, this company will just treat you like a number. Remember you are not important to them. 1st they sold me a flat of non standard construction they claim they didn't know that, but there iwn surveyor know that without looking at the flat!

Officially the WORSE surveyors!

Officially the WORSE surveyors!! Having owned multiple properties with variety of lender never had as worse experience as this. I paid £500 for survey and they deemed property unsuitable due to some foam on roof. Irony is 2 X other lenders have offered on same property without any questions & my own professional surveyor has happily signed off the property. I’m glad I made alternative arrangements in time. Stop wasting your Time! Read review and do your research. There’s way better surveyors available & if your lender uses this company run a MILE!!

Rude and massively undervalued

Valuer was in the property for less than 5 mins, obviously wasn't local, very unfriendly and rude. The value came back way lower (45k) than the offer received from my buyer, so the sale is likely to fall through and I will loose my next property too. Property is rarely available on this road so it is a tricky one to value, but asking price is comparable to local properties of similar size and finish and property sold very quickly with multiple offers which proves it was well priced for the market. Absolutely fuming!

Bent con men !

As others I would score zero if I could.Valuer appointed through Natwest's underwriters, Mr C Hill was at my property 5 mins,and under valued my house for 40 k. He already knew the value I had stated as he mentioned it to me, so why if the company was supposed to be "independent" did he already know the honest value??Then provided feed back to Natwest that there wasn't any comparable house sold recently. There was in the last 3 years for well over his valuation of my larger house, but not in the last 3 months during a pandemic (shock!)My new mortgage deal is now £3k more expensive over the next 5 years thanks to his incompetence. Natwest wont let you appeal the valuation, but I know for sure that if the repossessed my house they wouldn't sell it for his valuation = bent as f.... ! Back handers central! I cant beleive Natwest use such a company with these review rating unless they are going to make a healthy profit from them ....oh wait...!

Can I give no stars

Can I give no stars? Appalling service from start to finish. Pulled out of a purchase mainly due to this agent. Day 1 view a property. Agent strolled up the street after our arrival, had to force door open due to post and junk mail piled up. This should have been moved prior to our arrival to give a better impression. Agent gave us wrong sale price around £20,000 than actual price. Property was also marketed incorrectly in our opinion. Garage blocked of with inner wall making it a gym, agent conveniently didn’t have the key for us to see this. Due to issues with our buyer the purchase of this property was unexpectedly delayed, whilst we were keen to keep the vendor updated, these agents were not so forthcoming with information including that they had put the house back up for sale. I only found this out when calling with information. I’m quite certain at this point he attempted to get us to increase our offer to “secure” the purchase. After reassuring them of our position we were then given an incredibly unachievable deadline . This simply led us to reevaluate our position and rather than proceed proceed with the purchase ( of which I had no confidence was now secured to us) and came to the unfortunate decision to withdraw our offer and look for another property. When searching a quite limited choice for our situation I had to discount any property’s listed with connells regardless of how much I liked them. I found these agents to be very unprofessional and on rude.

Beware when buying home insurance through connels

Beware when buying home insurance through their mortgage brokers.I took out a mortgage through a connels mortgage broker and was offered home insurance at the same time. I informed their agent that I required additional cover for an expensive mountian bike and asked for this to be added to the policy.When trying to make a claim for the loss of this bike I wa sinformed by ageas that the bike had not been declared as a specific item to them by connells and I would only be able to claim up to the maximum value of £1000. The bike was worth £2500 so I have been paying additioinal fees for my home insurance for additional cover that when needed hasn't paid out in full.When I made a complaint to connels the person dealing with it didn't uphold my complaint or offer any resolution. Avoid and organise your own insurance!

This is the worst company I have ever…

This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. The incompetence is shocking. The lack of knowledge and and disinterest from the staff to try and resolve the smallest issue is crazy. They end up costing you money and then start harrassing you for arrears rental on the 6th of the month whe your rent is only due on the 11th. Unfortunately I have to deal with them for another 11 months and then hopefully never again.

Then after the survey contacted us to explain what he had found and explained what we would need to do. Survey was excellent and helped us clarify certain parts of the report. Would recommend that having a survey by people like simon was the best money we have ever spent . Thanks again

Totally corrupted branch- Midlands branch- being a key worker , applied for accommodation two years ago , yet was totally ignored. Someone called Becky does not answer phone calls , leave voice mails and she never comes back , she comes back after 6 months after all the accommodation is gone and she received whatever benefit to dictate to you what she wants you to live in ,,,,! as s she is my partner to do so , raised a complaint about that suspicous activity , her manager Annabell did not do any , dont get involved unless you ready to give some gifts

I would not recommend this company for selling your property

I would not recommend this company for your house sale. I unfortunately used the Stourbridge office and whilst the staff were friendly some of them are completely incompetent. Here are just a few of the issues I had with them:-- sales staff would leave lights on after a viewing (the property was empty so it added extra cost to my utility bills)- sales staff would leave internal doors open (they were never open when they arrived so they should leave the property as they found it)- sales staff broken the front door lock and left the front door insecure and it cost me £300 to get an emergency locksmith out)- one sales member went into next doors house to set up for a viewing as the front door was open when he arrived!!! Both houses have a number on them which is clear to see from the street.- sales staff would intermate to potential buyers that the seller is not open to offers which put some buyers off making any offers (I never told them that I wasn't open to offers. I was told this by the eventual buyer who purchased the property privately) There are plenty of other estate agents out there so do yourself a favour and use one of those

Extremely poor service after a rep visited to undertake a valuation on behalf of a mortgage company for a remortgage. Our house price on zoopla is showing £244,000 as the low end up to £264.000 high end. We had previously been on the open market for sale at £260,000 - £265000 and had received lots of viewings in 2 weeks, but decided to stay put and took it off the market. The agent had no interest in listening to me about all the works we’ve had done since moving in, (we’ve done a full Reno) and then valued it at £245,000!!! Practically the lowest possible! We had 4/5 previous property valuations for local estate agents, there lowest was £255,000 3 weeks ago. your rep was here maybe 10 minutes? didn’t want to chat to me about the house, nothing. This has affected our mortgage offer. He is seriously undervaluing properties clearly and this is having an affect on peoples mortgages and payments. I was even told I wasn’t allowed to appeal and ask for a second opinion so we’ve had to restart over again with another providerWhat a complete failure and waste of time

We contacted the peterborough office for a let in Bretton area of the city, our contact was charlotte, initially all went well but we hit a problem with the reference check as i am moving from north scotland to the area and did not have any proof of earning as still had to start my new job. We at this time were unable to continue without either a guarentaur or a six month deposit of rent, that left both of us feeling very stressed and deflated with our move just 5 days away. Charlotte called us the very next day to put a proposal from the landlord for less rent advance which we were able to do. I cannot stress how helpful and professional my dealings with Charlotte were. What a credit to your company.

Bunch of cowboys . Valuation nearly 50k less then the buyers offered. There are no houses around here for what he valued it at. House was in top condition. Even the building survey was good . Also found out the surveyor was not from around here and attended a local estate agent to gather a price .... and the estate agent actually came to my house toOffer to sell it for me ??? Something not right with this company ... Reported anyway .....

Lied to and misled

I was completely misled, they told me at West Malling that as they couldn't sell my property I was told to take it off the market which I duly did. As they are the ones that suggested it thought I was out of contract and put my property on the market with another agent and now they want to lock me into the contract. At no point did they advise that I was still locked into the contract.Would I recommend them a definite NO they were useless.Also at no point did they advise that I was in a 26 week contract, if I had known would never have signed with them. Absolutely useless.
