Really bad experience with Ocean unfortunately. It was my first time renting in UK therefore we expected some guidance. Instead of being helpful they were extremely unpleasant. They demanded us paperwork everytime on very short notice but they delayed sending us the paperwork every single time. They failed to inform us on all the fees that we were supposed to pay even though I specifically asked this at the beggining. They were unclear in terms of the bills and a week after I sent them the proof of the standing order they told me it was wrong and that they urgently needed the new one. I had to call them on the morning of the moving to ask them for the contract and their answer was ,,oh, did no one sent you tht yet?”.3 hours prior to the time we were supposed to get the keys they asked me for the guarantor s signature ignoring the fact that they might be at work and unable to provide the signature the second that they wanted it. After we finally got in the apartment the person sent for the inventory could not explain to us anything about heating/hot water/bins etc as they were not provided with any details by ocean. I was also told that the apartament was professionally cleaned that day. Surprise, it wasn t. When I asked them they said that the landlord was supposed to arrange this. However when I will be moving out I will be forced to professionally clean the apartment, right?! Speaking about the landlord, they gave us an incorrect number and until we managed to get in touch with him we were left without any hot water. The landlord also was very unhappy with Ocean. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Ocean Estate Agents in Bishopston offered an exceptional service when selling my apartment. Their marketing was well done and the property had an offer (of the asking price) within two weeks. After that followed a somewhat protracted sale (due to a technical issue with the lease, not anything linked to Ocean) but the team worked endlessly with all parties to get the sale to progress, and I genuinely believe that we would be still waiting for it to progress if it hadn’t been for the guys at Ocean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I had a very good experience with Ocean both with the purchase and sale even though only my purchase was with Ocean. The team at Ocean pushed and oversaw the movement of a highly complex chain involved in the sale and as such went over and beyond what was expected of them to ensure the purchase went smoothly and timely. The Move Manager, Sam Jones, in particular was an integral and key player whose integrity, motivation and highly effective communication skills ensured that all the links of the chain were very well informed of developments as they were happeneing. This was our first time using an estate agent and would recommend Ocean to anyone that is in need of one. Our home was valued by 3 other local agents and we decided to list with Ocean due to their unrivalled local knowledge. They had also sold many of the houses in our street and have a great high street prescence in our local village. The photos of our home taken by Steve and the description looked professional and definitely helped to sell our home, however the main factor that sold the house was their extensive list of potential buyers. One of the main selling points of our home was the garage and they were able to draw up a list of potential viewings based on their databases. There are a lot of adverts around for 'online' estate agents and we would avoid these in future - the buyer in our chain had used one of these agents to sell their property and it ended up causing delays. Whilst they are perfectly capable of selling a house, they lack the back office team that we relied heavily on during our sale. Ocean's move manager - Ella - gave us an update each week as to how things were progressing and we were able to use Ella to get things to progress throughout the chain. Whilst online agents may be cheaper, I would definitely pay the extra money to have this service as it made the whole process much less stressful. Ocean would be top of our list the next time we are in need of an estate agent.

If you're looking for the worst conveyancer in the world, look no further. She works for Ocean and I had the misfortune of having her handle my flat purchase. If you're looking for a lease which gives you no legal right of access for the flat you're planning to buy, Ocean are the company for you.If you enjoy having your emails routinely ignored and basic information repeatedly misunderstood, Ocean etc.If the prospect of waiting six months to complete a chain-free purchase excites you, maybe consider Ocean? They're the one.I can't quite find the words to appropriately convey just how appalling this service has been. Ocean have taken incompetence to new depths. Ocean aren't cheap, but good grief they should be. If you're considering using their services, please don't. Set fire to £2k and punch yourself in the face for six months. It'll be less frustrating and a better use of your money.

We are disappointed you have a poor opinion of the service you have received.Needless to say your case will be completely reviewed by our directors and they will contact you presently. We would however like to address a few points initially in the hope that we can reassure you of our best intentions and efforts at all times. The lease was drafted by your sellers’ lawyer and we understand this did take an extraordinarily long time to be received by Ocean property lawyers. However, after some enquiries were made and amendments were added, the legal right of way was included in the final draft.Your correspondence will be audited; we are sorry you have the impression emails have been ignored. We will, of course, revert to you on this as we do pride ourselves on this very important issue; we are very aware of how important it is to keep our clients updated and informed.We believe our fixed price of £700 plus VAT, plus disbursements to third parties, such as the local authority for searches and Land Registry fees (which for this case totalled £1330 by completion) is very competitively priced.Once again thank you for your feedback, Ocean property lawyers directors will contact you once a full case review is conducted.Kind Regards Ocean.

TrustpilotOcean property lawyers are quite bad when you get down to the detail
Ocean property lawyers were fine, until it got to the detail. They sat on communications that they had sent to the wrong place, and didn't follow up until I had pushed a few times. It made my sale completion very late where I nearly lost out on a new purchase. Very stressful! Subsequently they had held an amount of money on account, to be reimbursed in April. April came and went, and they eventually replied saying they had to retain the money until November later in the year (a whole 12 months after sale completion). They moved the goal posts, on a financial safe guard that wasn't necessary, for a third party I dealt directly with, and where I provided account for in April. Hence the money they held was mine to be returned in full. If they do that for many people that's a hefty lump sum of other peoples money in their accounts accruing interest for them. For 12 months! Lucrative 'policy'. I would not recommend Ocean Property Lawyer, if you want a straight forwards, hassle/stress free sale. Update: thanks for the response OPL..hope its more than lip service, nothing from you so far....
