Managed to complete the purchase within the planned time frame, but this was with us being first time buyers with no chain on either side of the purchase. Ocean estate agents really pushed for us to use ocean solicitors as a way to expedite the process as they could hand documents between themselves, but in reality communication both within ocean and to us (especially with the solicitors) was really disappointing, considering we were recommended to use them and were paying a premium because of it.The solicitors were hard to get hold of and unsupportive of our queries unless it suited their timeline and were very clearly reluctant to explain and explore any uncertainties we had as first time buyers. This was made worse by the fact some of our assumptions of the property were incorrect ever since the initial viewing due to what was claimed by the estate agent.The last comment is on the frustrating portal everything has to go through, it is really difficult to track updates and see progress, and there was a moment when Ocean had left it a week before asking why something wasnt signed in the portal. I would recommend Ocean solicitors to use direct communication more rather than relying on a portal like this which many might find confusing to use for everything.All in all, while we don't have much experience with other solicitors and estate agents, I would encourage others to do research and not trust all the claims and recommendations made by the estate agents, and that if you do need anything checked by the solicitors know it will be the last thing they reluctantly do all while urgently pushing for you to complete.

Direct communication is crucial. Your comments in this regard are therefore of particular concern, a Director will be reviewing your case file to ensure the team learn from this. Our portal which is still under development, should have provided updates and insight, as well as reassurance. We are sorry this was not the case in this instance. There was no chain as you say, however, 8 weeks from draft contracts to exchange is extremely quick by today’s average time frames of 40 weeks. This may explain some of the urgency at times. They responded to my many questions, and had very positive, "can do" attitudes, which was very reassuring, in the midst of all the stress and multiple details of moving. From the moment I met Will when I viewed the flat, he had all the right information, was expert in terms of processes we had to follow, and had a very calming presence. I felt I was in good hands and could trust him.

Lily at the Bradley stoke willow brook branch has been helping me rent out my property and she’s been amazing. I’ve had one of the best customer service experience from ocean. Lily is really knowledgable and has explained the letting process really clearly and supported me through every step. She has taken a lot of stress away from me with dealing with all the legal bits and tenancy. Communication is brilliant, keeping me updated and I have found ocean extremely reliable.

Oceans have given me such a hard time, it had taken a bit longer for us to obtain our mortgage so oceans manager Jake Gready made life so hard. Buying house is not a easy step and I feel like he could of helped and understood the situation more . The experience I've with Oceans I don't think I will ever use them, to buy or to let.
We are sorry to learn of your experience, this is far from our expectations and contrary to the many positive reviews we receive from our buyers. The Manager you refer to is no longer with Ocean estate agents, your comments have therefore been referred to the Sales Director. Records do show the mortgage application did far exceed the normal application & process times. The wait of over 5 months resulted in a great deal of stress for our seller, resulting in them nearly losing their onward purchase and the collapse of the chain. We are sorry if this was translated to you in a way the caused undue stress, as mentioned, the Manger is no longer with Ocean and we therefore can not comment further.It is certainly our hope that the moving experience is as stress free as possible for all parties. She was out of office during those 2 days but still she gave prompt replies to all our queries. She has even arranged a second viewing for us. So far ocean and Chantelle has been good for us in completing the first step towards renting a home in Bristol!

From start to end the Ocean team provided us with great support and assistance as international company in renting a house for our employees. This is not a common task due to local and immigration regulations that you are unfamiliar with as foreign company. William has been very professional in communication, the company verification phase and closing the agreement. The purchasers solicitors seemed to be quite demanding, and dragged out a fairly simple transaction over a period of months, but Ashleigh Westcott-Egan of Ocean's Southville Office was as tenacious as if she were selling her own property, kept up the pressure on them and kept us regularly informed of our progress. Making an enquiry about an apartment in Central Bristol had proved quite tricky over the Festive Season but having spotted a perfect one online we contacted Ocean Lettings & was not only promptly answered but given a viewing appointment the next day. That went well & so we said we’d like to take it. After filling in our details for Ocean to pass by the landlord we got a swift positive result. Everyone at Ocean who we dealt with was not only very efficient but also charming & helpful. Finding a place can be stressful but this was a breeze. An Ocean breeze!

She has a natural gift for making you feel comfortable, as well as possessing excellent people skills - allowing space during viewings or knowing when to intervene, if potential buyers needed more attention/ information. After a small miscommunication to begin the process on what particular Mortgage was available to us, we have had nothing but excellent service from Ocean. Tracey Green has always been on hand to answer questions and liaise with the lender/solicitor/vendor, etc. Even when our mortgage extension application dropped in the week that Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwateng were trying to destroy the house buying market, Tracey was on hand to guide things through smoothly. So thanks to Neil Butler and Tracey for setting us up and supporting us through this whole process.

Used Ocean solicitors for our house purchase, and cannot recommend them enough. Ashleigh was really attentive and quick to our questions, and spotting potential issues with our purchase ahead of time. They were also extremely helpful when our first house purchase fell through, and very sympathetic.Definitely recommend them as a first time buyer.

40-50% rent increases to all the properties in my block of flats, overnight, and Section 21s issued to all the people who queried the legality or tried to negotiate. Some people lived in the building for over 10 years. Absolutely gutted. Months and months to complete repairs. Really bad peopleEdit: I was not offered a 10% discount, I was given an eviction notice when I tried to negotiate. What they have replied with isn't true.
Ocean Lettings and Management have been recently appointed to manage the building on behalf of the landlord. As with all rental agreements we act on the Landlord’s instructions. A Director fully appraised of this particular contract will reply in full ASAP. Regards Ocean. Update:We sympathise and understand your misgivings, unfortunately, costs have increased for all parties. Ocean Lettings and Management were appointed to assume management of the building on behalf the landlord. Following a circa 10-year hiatus, tenancy agreements required review. The building owner requested a rental appraisal, subsequently a 10% discount of current, average rental prices was offered. Regards, Ocean.
