GoogleReceived a call and said my preference to move in from September for a 2bed place then told to come to the office just to be told there isnt any available 2 bed place and that they have all gone. Communication in the office must improve because i had just drove for one hour taking my time and petrol money just to be told there isnt any availability. What a shame

to start off, me and my friend were looking for houses to rent as students. the one guy with a beard was extremely rude and took a phone call in the middle of a conversation with us?!?!?!?! we sat for ten minutes whilst he was on this "important" phone call at which point he left the building completely with 0 explanation. as we tried to get another employees attention (ginger) we were sniggered at and made to feel uncomfortable and downright patronised. after we explained our budget and the properties we had requested to view, they said they had none and bearing in mind they had called my friend 7 times before we came in and they KNEW our budget and the amount of rooms we required. he then went on to BOAST about the sales he made (like I gaf) and said he sold 14 properties on Saturday. however, he had already called my friend on Monday saying we could still view. now, mr phone call comes back in and says they have no properties available. when questioned he stuttered because he knew he was wrong. he then joined the party to start boasting and say they sold 60 properties. im no math student but 14 and 60 are quite far apart. overall, the experience was unwelcoming from the minute we stepped through the door. as students we were made to feel patronised, dumb and idiotic. stay away at all costs. they want ur money and don't care about you or your housing needs.

Un-useful and time wasting. i have a 9-6 schedule 5 days a week in the city centre so was difficult to find time for a viewing, this was made even more difficult when we couldn't simply view the properties as any other normal company would allow, yet travel all the way to their offices in Selly Oak only to have a 10 min conversation about how they have no properties available. This could've easily been said over the phone or even text. Valuable study time for exams was wasted. Would never look to go through Oakmans again.

GoogleI’m writing this as a warning to anyone thinking of using Oakmans. I myself am a student and what I’m talking about it not just a one off as many of my friends who also used Oakmans had the same and worse problems than myself. Starting with the lies such as ‘your house would be newly refurbished’ to arriving on move in day to find a building site in an awful state. Months in, the house is still highly problematic in terms of the basics and we have been constantly in contact for these months just trying to get these basics problems fixed.The service is honestly shocking and they were not polite or apologetic what so ever and have never been. We’ve had a door that wasn’t secure,dust covered house, leaking sink and showers, no bins, holes in the wall,furniture that didn’t fit, unfinished woodwork, pile of mud in the garden and rats in the house and around it which is currently still happening. If you’re a student or anyone looking for a house please stay away from Oakmans for your own good!!!!!!

Hi, I have read your review and I have searched for a property with any of these maintenance issues and cannot find one. We have no reports of rats in a house, piles of mud, unfinished woodwork etc. I can only presume this is not a genuine review. Had a great experience at Oakmans in Selly Oak. Despite narrow options to suit our situation, our estate agent Jake pulled the perfect house out of the bag and negotiated with the landlord to solve an issue with the tenancy start date which made our lives much easier. Finding a student house has been a nightmare in the past but this couldn't have been easier.
