Customer service is awful to the point I’m actually looking at other properties that are more expensive than the ones with them as I am not happy to know these letting “professionals” will be along a buck off a possible sale from me. The customer service paints a picture for the horror I’d probably face if I was a tenant and needs maintenance support. Apparently one person (liberty) in the entire business is able to support with booking viewings as one day you call, you’ll be told she’s on holiday, call the day after “she’s on lunch” and then will call back the day after and somebody else will tell you she’s been away for a week?? 😂 As a person in sales I can tell you myself this is done on purpose while they feel out if they feel like you’re a worth while customer. If you value your money you’ll value whose pocket it lands in after your transaction. These are not the people that deserve it but if you’re desperate I guess go ahead.

Terrible (Bognor Branch)Rented for 1 ½ years and they never helped me once. Despite asking Marlina multiple time inc visiting the office, I was never given a key to communal meter cupboard to get readings. I never knew if I was in credit or debt the whole time. I was even emailed by Marlina to say too busy to get one, please ask a neighbour?Heating never worked, just a plug in radiator. Mould in bedroom ect.After leaving they tried to claim most of my deposit with false claims. End of tenancy report said multiple items missing despite them later admitting they had these in their offices. Locks tampered with, carpet dirty, pet damage & much more. They even took photos at strange angles to make things look worse than they were.Lucky I took photos start & end of tenancy & The deposit protection ruled in my favour.I promise you it was in better condition when I left. I even showed the owner round who said he was happy I looked after it.During a final call to them I asked why they never mentioned anything to me if issues and they said it was company policy to only talk to their clients. I thought I was their client???????Disgusting behaviour. If you dare use them (especially this branch) Take photos people!!Ok rant over. I don’t normally moan but all the above & virtually saying I stole items, I had to comment.Good luck all

Rented for 3 years with Martin & Co Birmingham, got left without a washing machine for 4 weeks because Debbie Kempson ordered the wrong washing machine! No compensation for there wrongdoing broken floorboards caused by contractors as the washing machine didn’t fit, no hot water for nearly a week! The worst company in the world. On departure they said I would receive my deposit back within 10 days I left on the 25th of April and it’s been nearly a month! I’ve now had to get a solicitor involved to give them a statutory declaration form to get my deposit back as they have stopped responding to my emails! I’ve been made to feel nobody caresAvoid renting with these guys!

Beware Blackpool, Lancaster and St Annes Branches

Dodgy plumbers left me with no water heating all winter. They lied and harassed me into leaving for trying to get it fixed.I spent over a month trying to get somebody decent to fix the water but they kept sending the same ones. Then I asked the council for help. Next day they started a no fault eviction (it's illegal to evict over repairs). They said the landlord was selling which was a lie.After 2 months they came and said I should have left which is a lie. They got a guy they said was the landlord (who had a different name) to lie and threaten me about the eviction.I'd been dealing with lying scumbags in a flat with no hot water for 5 months by this point so I gave up and left. They put the property up for let (for more money, when it didn't have hot water) before I moved out.I asked for a manager but nobody helped. (There are no managers, but everybody has the word manager in their job title).The council wrote to the "operations manager" for help but he ignored them. The "property manager" lied to them. The "assistant manager" hid out of view when the "property manager" came to harass me into leaving.It's an independent agent with offices in Blackpool, Lancaster and St Annes. Martin & Co is just a branding thing for the independent agents to hide behind, so "Martin & Co" won't help either.I wouldn't recommend anybody go near anything connected with this company or these people. I can't put into words the hell they will subject you to if you have an problem.As soon as you have a problem, speak to citizens advice and try to get legal help. Record everything in case you need it in court.

We recently enquired about a rental property, our call was handled courteously and efficiently, our viewing was arranged timeously and Nasreen from Martin & Co was helpful, knowledgable and very respectful throughout the entire process. Documentation was delivered as promised, fully explained and processed expeditiously. At the time of writing, we have no experience of lease end or matters arising, return of deposit etc.

DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO OR CALLING THIS LYING AGENCY!! This is the most unerious and ridiculous estate agency staff I ever spoke with! When you request viewing for a property, they always say the person for the viewing is not in the office and they will call back, of course they never call back! Recently tried to book a viewing for a flat they listed, spoke on the line with Dan/Sam who confirmed two times they booked me in for a viewing, however they never sent me confirmation email, or called me before the viewing to say I haven't been booked and to cancel it! They mislead tenants, asking for property offers higher than the price on the listed advert, which the landlord wants. What do you do with the rest of the money?? Do you keep it for your pockets?? All of the customer service is absolutely awful and you can barely book a viewing, you would be lucky if you book it for the next month. Awful agency.

The customer services from Martin and co letting agency is horrible. I had a viewing with them last week and the agent who was supposed to give me a tour around came 30mins late with no apologies nor introductions. I had a viewing appointment for today 13/04/2024 which I got an email confirmation on Thursday, saying that my appointment was for 11am with Dan Daud with the company office number in the email. I had arrived at the location ten mins prior and gave a call to the office number and someone answered the call and said she was going to get the agent in charge give me a call and let him know I was there waiting at the apartment . Ten minutes later I get a call From Dan Daud who spoke to me in a condescending and rude manner stating that his colleague Jessica had already left the apartment I was meant to view because I was late. I was furious because I was 10mins early for that appointment and I had to travel quite a distance and his excuse was that I stayed in my car, I shouldn’t have stayed in the car, rather I should have gone to the apartment, where I had no access to nor key codes. And Dan also threatened that if I wanted to take it up, I couldn’t because he was one of the top members after I asked to speak to someone in higher authority. Martin and co staff members are very unprofessional and I do not recommend them for any reason.

Not competent advisers

I am self-employed. My husband employed and we have a guarantor. But a very "nice" lady on the phone said that since I have been working for less than 1 year, my income will not be taken into account and the presence the guarantor does not change the situation in any way! So we could rent from them (or anyone from Rightmove) only on husband's salary which is enough only for properties not more then £900!!!Obviously that adviser is not competent and left me with no hope when it was a lie!

Rude Agent

The agent was rude over the phone. Wouldn't give us a chance to talk straightaway telling us we can't rent the property. My husband called separately and they made him hold 3 times asking unnessary question like about our kids especially what gender they both are, like what's that got to do with renting a property? Not a trusted house agent at all. Would never recommend.
