I would give it a 0 if I could, the staff at this estate agency are appalling, not only did they cancel my viewing and didnt bother telling me until I rang them on the day as I was waiting outside the property! I got no apology, I was told that I’d get a call back and never did it’s been a few weeks so I rang them back and the guy didn’t even introduce the company name he went ‘hello’ like it’s a personal family member he’s speaking too, then asked my number because I rang on a no caller number and told me the property isn’t available when it’s still online. The worst part was I then received 3 unknown calls right after the call ended, when I have never received an unknown call in the 2 years of having this number as no one has my number, so I’m 99% sure it’s the agent that I spoke to as he took my number and decided to ring me and be on mute. How disgusting and unprofessional!

Sometimes it can be hard trying to find flats to rent in the city, so it is tempting to go with any old estate agents, but you will regret it! These guys are absolute slimy little RATS who will grab every penny they can from your deposit - SOMEBODY CALL JOE LYCETT 😂

Very rude people .. I tried to book a viewing and the person of the phone was getting frustrated that I wanted to book two viewings .. they put me on hold and hung up on me , I had to call back regarding the viewing after being interrogated about my salary. Person on the phone said “ listen let’s cut to the chase can you afford it or not “ to which I said yes I tried saying this multiple times .To which he said I have 20 years experience so I beg to differ .. really terrible .

*** avoid at all cost *** I would give no stars if possible My experience is with the pontefract branchThe staff call for late payments before the due date, tell lies and try to steal deposits. They are extremely rude and will only answer the phone if it’s regarding payments. Will refuse to speak if it’s regarding issues. They leave maintenance Issue for months and refuse to send anyone. They use old photos to submit to deposit schemes. They show up to houses unannounced and try to make tenants pay for issues that the landlord is liable for.

I rang Martin and co for the second time for a viewing on a property I was interested in. The lady on the phone asked me what my situation was. I explained that I already owned a property on the street and would probably look at selling it. Ten minutes later I get a call from another woman telling me if I’m not in a position to move they can’t grant me a viewing. Didn’t even bother to ask , just assumed I had to sell to buy ! What a way to treat people, disgusting as I had the cash !!

Sending the bad contracts even after let them know it's wrong one.Then took six months to get it right, after which you must sign six months back.Pathetic!!!Have no respect for one's privacy at all.BEWARE of unannounced visits and catch you IN THE SHOWER!!!When you cross the company threshold: No way for a private face-to-face conversation,just big chaos with no chance to be heard.Rude behavior and lack of any compromise.The tenant is always wrong.You are just number and a loser at the entrance.That's how I was feel every time at them office. However they are very professional in reaching out for funds and lying about tenants to the landlordsLike: it's mess, badly smell, have zoo indoors, vermin and a lots more.Shortly say's, you're not looking after the house.Shame on you.Pathetic again!!!Good advice to allRecommended escape when you see this unit in Banbury.Totally horrible experience.

Martin & Co Huddersfield - the melting point property to be precise. Cant say much on the property itself because I never booked it, which I’m glad I didn’t. The problem was the lady behind the phone representing the company and presenting the property, absolutely disgusting no communication skills what so ever, huffing and puffing at me while I’m trying to comprehend what she is trying to say to me. It was utterly disgusting that she was speaking down to me as if I were somewhat beneath her. Clearly she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but that is no excuse to take it out on potential future tenants. These aren't worth the money or headache, so save yourself!

GoogleAbsolute clowns. Refused to pay for an emergency locksmith when I got stuck naked in a bathroom for 3 hours on Sunday. This is a known door handle/mechanism problem they know about in the kettleworks but they haven’t told the residents! I called them and there was no answer and my phone was going to die. I could have died due to how hot it was in there and they do not care. All they care about is money and getting out of paying! Hung up on me and patronised me. I have approached the media and will be escalating to the ombudsman

GoogleI just wanted to give you a heads up about my downright terrible encounter with Martin and Co, the lettings agency. Trust me, you'll want to think twice before renting a house through them, especially if you're an outsider like me.
The main issue that really got me riled up was their sneaky way of withholding the deposit. Can you believe it? Instead of giving it back to me like they should have, they came up with some bogus cleaning services and charged a whopping 80% of my deposit for it. Talk about a rip-off!
And here's the kicker: I can't even fight back! They've already got my deposit, and I'm left feeling like a helpless victim. Losing 60% of my hard-earned money is no joke, and it's infuriating that they get away with it.
I just want to make sure you all don't end up in the same boat as me. Please, please be super careful when dealing with Martin and Co. Their shady practices and refusal to do the right thing have left me feeling utterly cheated and powerless.
To sum it up, my experience with Martin and Co has been an absolute nightmare. The financial hit I took is no small matter, and the fact that I can't do anything about it only adds insult to injury. I genuinely hope that by sharing my story, I can save someone else from going through the same ordeal. Do yourself a favor and explore other rental options before getting involved with these guys.

GoogleTerrible. i viewed a property under Martin&Co which i loved, i requested the application form which they provided. First of all the guarantor quote they provided was an extortionate amount of money, they quoted me i need a guarantor who earns at least 3k a month which isn’t common nowadays. When i found someone willing to be the guarantor i sent emails and phone calls asking questions due to this being my first time moving out and they never got back to me. I sent multiple emails with no response to two different agents there; i phoned multiple times to which they told me they will call me back or the agent is suspiciously always on lunch break, they blatantly ignored me for 3 days straight to the point i gave up trying. Do better Martin&Co, if the property is gone or you don’t want me as a tenant just tell me rather then ignore me for days.

I contacted Martin & Co Plymouth on a Saturday morning at 10am. The phone line explained the office was now closed and that the opening hours were 9-2 on Saturday. Poor start. I went on to the Chat system and allegedly got a human who took all my details and would pass them to the relevant team. I also emailed them. The following THURSDAY, as I’d heard nothing, I telephoned and the attitude I received was unprofessional and appalling. I wouldn’t deal with them and would urge anyone using them to switch agent if they want their property sold.

Laziest demotivated crew in Oxford. If there was a prize for not doing your job and complaining when someone calls you out for it, these guys win by a landslide. You're better off managing the property solo. A special shout out to the older Emma who is clearly unhappy and takes out her personal stress on tenants (i don't care if you feel unappreciated at work or at home, please be professional and learn how to respond to emails). Also to add, nothing was done at the property and the landlord and tenant had to do everything
