Arun Singh - Fantastic.

I've worked alongside Arun on a number of jobs in a contractor capacity and it's always been a positive experience. He's approachable, easy to communicate with and keeps everything well organised, which makes life much easier for contractors on site. He's quick to respond, provides clear instructions and is always fair and professional in the way he manages projects. Any issues that come up are dealt with promptly, helping jobs run smoothly from start to finish. He not only offers assistance on his own jobs but also helps with any queries I have on other jobs with other Property Managers. Could not fault him - one of the best.

I wished i could give them a 0 star. They have misled me during viewing about the property which led on me signing a contract based on false pretence. introduced me to a dodgy landlord who has not only made my life hell during that short 4 weeks tenancy but has now ghosted me to refund my deposit and my rent and they are denying having any responsibility with it. Although they know I would not have taken that tenancy if they did not vouch for that landlord. Forced to now involve courts to hold them accountable for their bad practices. Just avoid even the properties they claim to manage they are very useless, i had a hot water issue once , took them 5 days to fix it and it was during winter time. Just avoid or take extra caution when signing with them.

I'd like to thank Christina from John Shepherd Birmingham for helping me sort out getting my washing machine replaced. The engineer who came to take out and replace the machine was friendly, quick and very efficient. This was sorted out within days of the original report and I couldn't be happier.

I recently went through the rental process with Nakesha at John Shepherd and couldn't fault the experience. From start to finish she was professional, patient and genuinely attentive ,she took the time to follow up on every query and concern I raised, which made what can be a stressful process feel straightforward and well managed. It's rare to deal with someone who is both efficient and personable. Highly recommend.

Absolutely awful agency

Absolutely awful agency. We have had a broken washing machine since the 27th June, its the 20th July and no indication of when we can expect a repair. I have said at this point i just need to buy one myself but i dont know what to do with the old machine or if landlord expecting it to still be here when we move so i am stuch. We have had a leaking conservatory for over a year. When an old pipe burst on our top floor it took over a week to be repaired and we had to keep the water turned off. We also had nearly a month without heating when the boiler broke. Terrible.

Great in some ways

Great in some ways John Shepard have been excellent to use, they are responsive, the property we rent has been great, I would love to recommend them as a estate agent except from one glaring issue. they use a company called WPG to fix any issues/manage the properties and it is a NIGHTMARE! they do not respond to anything, it took a week to replace my broken fob and I had no way to get in my own flat so had to keep ringing housemates to let me in, it is seemingly just one guy who does not care whatsoever, it is seemingly impossible to get a hold of him. Moreover, for some reason wpg literally just uses one person, and everything completely hinges on one guy who is impossible to contact. My bed broke and It was still incredibly difficult to get a hold of him. aside from this they have been excellent but its hard to recommend them with service like this.

Absolutely 10/10

I had an absolutely excellent experience with Lara Soares-White as my property manager. Both during and after my tenancy ended she was consistently professional, responsive, and helpful. Any questions or issues I had (including mistakenly overpaying my rent after my tenancy terminated) she went above and beyond to ensure issues were resolved efficiently. My tenancy also coincided with the introduction of the Renters Rights Act legislation, which was a period of learning and unknown for both tenants and property professionals. Despite this, Lara handled everything with confidence, transparency, and explained the various questions I had about the new laws. The level of service I received was genuinely exemplary. If was to return to Birmingham I would actively seek a tenancy with John Shepherd due to the service I received from her. I would highly recommend both the company and Lara to anyone looking for a seamlessly smooth renting experience. Just a genuinely brilliant service all around - 10/10!

Unresolved issues

3 issues yet again that are taking this company weeks to resolve. One of them being i was shocked by a plug socket in the property which has made me quite concerned in terms of safety, its been 3 weeks now and no one has come to check the electrics just to put my mind at ease. They even said they didn't know who to send to check the issue which is appalling to hear from property management. The company is more bothered about 5 star reviews on Google and trust pilot than to actually sort out issues, they've already had to refund me nearly 1500 for leaving me without heating for a year. If I could afford to move id be out of here property but I cannot.
