A very happy landlord

We have been with John Shepherd for more than two years. Our experience has been first class. We were anxious about letting our flat but have had superb service from all the staff we have had contact with. The process of finding tenants went very smoothly and the subsequent dealings with John Shepherd whenever there was something that needed to be addressed in the flat was dealt with very efficiently. We were always consulted properly and action taken swiftly. At the end of the tenancy the painting etc in preparation for the next tenant was also handled well. The accounting system is also very easy to understand and follow. We hope the staff we have come to know and rely on don't leave!

The service was pretty good, email responses were very quick which is really good. I did however have to ask for updates along the way when things fell quiet for a period of time. It would be useful to receive at least 1 update every 2 weeks to keep people up to date. Everything else went well. Thank you !

Lovely people, but the financial processes have issues. For example: • I was wrongly chased for outstanding rent payment, despite never ever deviating from the payment schedule. Provided proof of payment and it got found. • Still waiting on my deposit to be released! No disputes, but still waiting since the contract end about 2 months ago.

Rented a property in Harborne for one and a half years. Overall I have to encourage people to avoid John Shepherd. The general state of the property we rented before and during our tenancy was extremely poor. Windows leaked, shower leaked. Poor communication and buck passing from everyone meant we were left living in unsanitary conditions for months. Been in touch with new tenants and house still in state of disrepair with rent increased by £200 a month.

My agent, Lauren, she is really nice and helpful during whole moving process, house viewing, doing paperwork and after moving in. She followed up everything and replied email really quickly. She said we can move in on 20th, and we actually collected the key on the day. After we moved in, she still keeps replying to my email if I have any questions.
