We recently purchased a but to let property through Burchell Edwards, and were so impressed with their service that we immediately decided to use their lettings department too. Thomas Hale (lettings manager) provided an excellent service throughout, he was very professional and communicated with us regularly. Im fed up of these guys, Iv been looking for a property for over 1 yr. Burchill Edwards don’t even let you view the properties. You can’t make an offer unless you have viewed. If you don’t get a mortgage from them, then they simply say viewings are full. I don’t know how these guys are in Business. From looking at there reviews I can see many others have had the same experience. The fact they blatantly fob off honest buyers who are willing to pay over the asking price just so they can sell mortgage products is disgusting. It’s unfair on both Sellers & Buyers. They seriously need to be investigated. A company who puts their own interests before that of their customers. Clear conflict of interest. It’s got the stage where my friends & family simply ignore there ads now.NegativeProfessionalism

Shocking customer service. Can never get through to anyone on the phone and they don’t respond to emails either. I was promised a call back from the branch manager Stephen about my offer 3 days in a row and had to chase each day because the calls never came. Constantly fobbed off and left in the dark. When i finally got hold of him, he then lied and said he had tried to call and left a voicemail when he hadn’t at all - zero missed calls and I don’t have voicemail! Just awful service and as a branch manager, he should know better. As a first time buyers, we’ve had an awful experience, at a time when it should be exciting and happy. Common courtesy costs nothing. I would not recommend unless you want below average service. Don’t waste your time.

I would highly recommend Burchell Edwards for both buyers and sellers. I am a full time working mum and I have been looking for a property for the last 6 months. It was so difficult to cope with work, home and viewings. But yesterday I was at this agent’s office and Dougie arranged a short notice viewing for me and I had an offer accepted within 30 mins. This was a fabulous experience. You just need to tell them your requirement and they will find you the right property without wasting your time. Sellers beware-not everyone who wants to view your property is "allowed" they will give preferential treatment to buyers that they are making the most money out of by doing their mortgage etc, not getting you the best deal potentially! Buyers beware-unless you are going to let them do your mortgage be prepared to be ignored!! Shameful and appalling service!

Avoid this agency at all cost, they are not arranging a viewings for genuine buyers. They tell they don't know when the viewings will take place and will call back but never call back. They refuse viewings for buyers unless they can be coerced into using their in-house broker service. I don't understand why sellers still go to this rubbish agency they simply cut buyers off from properties they list. AVOID AT ALL COST!

I called twice to view a property I was greatly interested in to be told there is ongoing legal issues and I will be first in line to view when this was resolved. I also followed this up with an email last week which was ignored, to then find out the property has been sold. As a first time buyer this completely puts me off ever wanting to deal with any branch of Burchell Edwards and this sort of behaviour creates speculation there's back-door selling going on at this branch.
