As a new customer of the BY storage Birmingham, I have to say my experience so far has been very good. From the staff in London taking the time to find my qoute and then transferring my booking up to Birmingham, to then be met by store manager Paul who took his time to set me up and answer all the questions that I had. He was very thorough and super friendly which gave me confidence and cemented my decision to use their facility. Fast forward a few weeks and I had to access the storage out of hours. I had forgotten that my rate did not include out of hours access but luckily Paul was just leaving for the day and saw me trying to get in. He recognised me and very kindly gave me access which I really appreciated.

I’ve used BY Birmingham for 6 months. Customer service from all the team has been excellent - especially Paul who helped set everything up. They’ve been flexible with last minute room changes and very helpful with forklift. It’s relatively expensive is only issue - can argue that you get what you pay for, but on other hand doesn’t encourage longer term use, which a shame. But overall I’ve been really impressed by customer service from team.

Stay away from this place. The worst customer service I have ever seen anywhere. The staff were arrogant, disrespecting, dismissive, incompetent, and have no clue what customer service is. They need re-training or simply change their careers. I left this facility at Adams Steet because of how bad the team running it is, and I am happily ever after. By the way, get ready also for surprise hike to your fees, with no apparent reasons their increase of fees. The facility remained the same and no improvement to services, in the contrary, you are just paying for the salaries of arrogant, incompetent, and dismissive staff who are lacking the basics of customer service.

All the staff I spoke to at this branch, were extremely professional and polite, was actually shocking to get such good customer service so effortlessly. The team was really flexible with my requirements and overall I was genuinely impressed with all of the staff that I had interactions/spoken with in person or over the phone. Super-friendly, helpful staff who were very understanding of my peculiar situation (I wanted to store a broken bicycle that is hardly worth any money at all... which is a bit of an odd thing to want to do). The place was easy to find (it's huge, and yellow... can't miss it). The procedure here -- for registering to rent a unit, and for accessing the unit -- was somewhat more complicated than at other (smaller) storage places I have used in the past, but it was all explained to me very clearly. I'd booked an unnecessarily large unit by mistake and they immediately switched me to a smaller one, thus saving me a load of money, which I really appreciated. Whole thing was a lot less stressful than anticipated!

Only went to collect a few things that my mom had in storage for me and the place had sufficient equipment should you need to carry big items. The only downside to the experience was that the lights had turned off on the floor we were on a couple of times for several minutes making it difficult to do what we were doing. But apart from that no issues.

In one line: Excellemt and Very helpful staff. Actually i booked a storage unit and due to unforeseen circumstances i had decided to cancel my booking. When i called the reception, the staff said, "it is ok and we can understand. Thanks for choosing Big Yellow Storage". Process: 1. Firstly, the staff explained the booking procedure such as price, size of the storage unit, boxing. 2. Took me to the storage floors and showed me the units. 3. Filled the form with name, contact details, and move-in date. No booking fee. It is one of the the BIGGEST VALUE AD for a customer. No hustle and tension during cancellation. I strongly recommend this place to keep your personal belongs for move-in and move-out. Lastly the payment and extension is so simple.
