I used Aletta Shaw to represent me on the sale of my house and the purchase of a new property. It wasn't the most simple of processes. We had to abort one purchase and start a new one amongst several other challenges. Brooke and Sheryl in particular, were brilliant at keeping things moving, keeping me up-to-date and always answering questions in a timely manner. I contacted Aletta Shaw as they seemed like a nice local solicitors firm and once I phoned them my expectations seemed correct. I needed to speak to someone about buying a commercial lease and after speaking to the Efe who deals with them I was confident that they were the right firm for me as they seemed quite knowledgeable and helpful. I needed to get a search from the Land Registry and It appeared that I was unable to get what I needed from the Land Registry website. Efe offered to buy this on my behalf for £24. The following week I phoned and paid for this fee and I assumed it would be a pretty straight forward procedure to obtain the information I needed. However pretty much after this I was left disappointed with the service. Every time I called to chase, Efe was not available, then when I did get hold of ger she informed me that another colleague was now dealing with it. Emilia eventually emailed me the documents however it did not have the information I needed and was not the correct document. I did email back and try to contact Efe but to no avail. Emilia did eventually contact me back and basically said they were doing me a favour and that I hadn't formally instructed them and if I needed more information I needed to pay more and formally instruct them. Which may be the case, however I made it very clear what I needed and therefor they should have either quoted me more or taken the hit and provided me what I asked for. The attitude was not impressive at all. I asked for Efe to call me back, which she did and her attitude was pretty much the same. At the end of the day, I was very specific in what I needed, they did not deliver this, were difficult to contact and then made excuses and made out I was unreasonable! Also I want to mention, it took just one call to the Land Registry to find the information I needed for free! And to think they made me feel like I was asking the world of them and that I was being unreasonable!

I came in to the Bexleyheath branch of this firm for a statutory declaration my work place needed. The lady lawyer was polite and asked to see ID and the declaration,then she witnessed me signing it and put a stamp.Best bit it cost only £5. I strongly recommend Aletta Shaw, especially Mr Samir Moftah. He is a great solicitor and is very clever. We had a problem with TFL. The case was difficult and we thought there was no way out, then we met Samir and he was honest and spoke to us about the case very clearly, we went through a worrying time. Finally, we received an answer from TFL to resolve it out of court sattelment. We approached Aletta Shaw a few days after losing a possession hearing due to being given wrong advice by our insurers when serving Section 8. We were seen by Samir within 2 days of our call and found him to be direct and precise in formulating information and very clear in his advice. This was a very stressful time for us and a counterclaim was lodged by the tenant a few day's before the court hearing. I contacted AlettaShaw via their website after receiving a summons from TFL for irregular travel, Samir got in touch quite quickly and after a consultation I left it to him, he explained the process and his success rate of reaching an out of court settlement, he was supportive and reassuring however I was a bag a nerves because I was not as optimistic as it took me a while to obtain some of the documents he required, 2 days before I had to enter a plea he obtained an out of court settlement. This was a very distressing time for me, TFL are very heavy handed dealing with these incidents, they scare you into paying them. Samir thank you very much for your support and assistance in reaching this settlement with TFL.
