We sold our house through Sterling in Berkhamsted and Meka was our main contact. She was always professional and friendly - an absolute pleasure to deal with. She was full of energy - we had feedback after every viewing and she clearly worked incredibly hard and very long hours to make sure that everything ran smoothly. We always felt that she had our best interests at heart - we weren't just a client to her. She went as far as to find us the perfect rental home to move into after the sale despite the fact that she earned no commission on the rental. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending both Meka and Sterling Estate agents.

Meka is lovely & supported our purchase well but Ben the owner tried to force us to sell through them by claiming that the vendor would only take the property off the market if we sold through sterling. Wasn’t going to bother reviewing but heard he pulled the same move on a friend of a friend. Only sell your house through Sterling if you’re willing for your prospective buyers to be coerced into selling through them as well.

Beware Terms and Conditions you cannot cancel …

I want to add my experience to the 1* team. Before using this company read their terms and conditions on any contract carefully. Look for the cancellation clauses particularly. We used them as an agent to rent our house, been with them 16 years, when we tried to cancel them as our agent they wanted to take commission from us as we had a tenant (who cancelled their agreement with them) claiming we stole him so want 12.5% of our tenants rent for the rest of the tenancy could be up to 10 years or more! Have reported them to Property Ombudsman and Trading Standards. They are now taking legal action now against us.

An excellent Estate Agents. Sterling Estate Agents helped my wife and I find and eventually purchase our new home in 2023. Throughout the search they were very thorough in understanding what we were looking for and understanding our budget limits. During viewings, they were very professional - not pushy, but knowledgeable about the properties. Throughout the process of buying the final property, I cannot fault them - they were super proactive, rapidly turning around queries we had and helped us source solicitors, surveyor, builders etc. We hope not to have to move any time soon, but when we do, I would certainly turn to them.
