RIPPED OFF

We purchased a three bed semi which was one of the only pair of 3 bed semis on the small estate of 12 houses, the one attached to us had a bigger garden and was priced at £339,950 and ours was £5000 cheaper as it was a slightly smaller plot (not worth £5k less, in my opinion). We moved in and next door still hadn't sold but did after several months, after speaking to our new neighbors we found out that they actually got a £15,000 price reduction as part of their deal which immediately down valued our new home, considering theirs was the bigger plot as well... it meant that we had paid £335,000 for what was worth no more than £320,000 after they sold next door at such a huge discount.I complained to their MD who had absolutely no sympathy for our situation, I was not expecting that they compensate us by £15,000 (which others probably would have!) but at least a small gesture of goodwill would have made it more bearable for us, but nothing... the emails I received were near to unprofessional, he may have well have told me to get lost and stop wasting his time as that is exactly how I felt when I was raising a perfectly legitimate concern for our recently purchased home.It was our worst decision ever buying from Mulberry, we have since moved and have lost £25,000 in total on the house after living there for two years - we were ripped off.DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - The snagging took forever as well, I had to threaten to contact the Consumer Code before they would pay me any attention!!!

Very Impressed

Despite difficulties with selling my house Mulberry Homes worked hard to ensure I got the plot I wanted. They responded extremely well when I had a financial concern. The house was exceptionally well presented when I moved in. Yes, there is some snagging issues but they are responding positively and timely to sort it.

Reserved Houlton

I have now reserved and well on my way to purchasing my first Mulberry Home. In fact I went to see the property today finally! I’ve not had chance to see properly inside before now.I appreciate the new sales offices ladies a great deal, however I do feel sometimes any questions I have are more of an inconvenience. And very rarely are there two ladies on site only one so it can sometimes be difficult to have a conversation. I did ask today about extending the patio by 3 slabs only to be told it’s £120! I also dislike the colour in the lounge but dare not say anything in case it turns into another £1k to change it! Or get given a very long email as to why it’s impossible.It’s a 2 bedroom house which is still costing £275k so surely I’m not asking too much, maybe it’s just house builders in general !Anyway it’s definitely taken the shine off today a little I have to admit, let’s hope it gets better. The more I look at the lounge colour the more I hate it!

Crap company

Absolute sh@t company The build quality of their Upnor development is shocking with many apartments letting in water. Their workforce consists of mainly Unskilled workers who are more interested in a goulash dinner that the quality of their work The management is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike with many serious faults still on the property’s when they left site

Nice Sales, Atrocious Aftercare

Misleading doesn't begin to describe this company. The initial buying of the house was an excellent experience and went smoother than expected. The spiel given to us was all promising and we were assured 'customer care' would look after us.This was not the truth.6 months into living here our kitchen worktop and cupboards need ripping out and replacing due to water damage that was present on the day we moved in, and we were assured there and then that it would be sorted. 'Customer Care' have wiped their hands of it saying it's our problem and we have to sort it out. On top of this we've had issues with shoddy workmanship, for example when touching up paint meaning a ceiling had to be painted 3 times, as well as us having to fight for our garden to be returfed as it was like the surface of the moon, yet we were told "there's nothing wrong with it!". I've given 2 stars - 1, because I do like my house despite its issues and 2, because the sales team were very helpful and helped us get the sales of our old houses through.Unfortunately, 'Customer Care' do in fact not care and for this reason alone I cannot recommend buying a new house from Mulberry

I previously left a review on Mulberry homes as you’ll see below. As you’ll see the company replied asking me to contact them to speak about my complaints further.At this point I was already waiting on three members of staff to get back in touch with me about on going complaints. None of them did and one them was even a director Mr Chris Laywood.The company have no after care and the quality of there builds are not up standards. Read my previous review for further information.As mentioned, please avoid this company at all costs. I now have the stress of having to communicate with the NHBC as extras I paid for in the house have been fitted incorrectly and made worse on attempts to rectify. The company have now refused to help further leaving me with damaged wardrobes from the fitters.With such a competitive market, spend your money elsewhere.
