As a buyer back in February, everything was great up until the exchange/ completion day. It was very unorganised and a huge disappointment. The estate agent wasn’t aware that we were completing that day so wasn’t in possession of the keys, and asked if I could wait till the evening to collect the keys as the seller had taken them to work. Eventually when I was able to collect she gave them to me outside and swiftly left, no congratulations, didn’t show me where the fuse box or anything was and as a first time solo buyer this was a big deal and I was made to feel like an inconvenience. Not sure I’d recommend if you are a first time buyer as it was a disappointing end to what should have been an exciting moment.

Everyone we interacted with was lovely and helpful, even when there was an error during our mortgage application process that took a few weeks to resolve. Communication was easy - shout out in particular to Cathy who was our main point of contact, and Nik who stepped in when Cathy was away (and very kindly gave us a lift to our new house when we came to pick up the keys and said we'd be taking the bus!) While we hope not to move for a long time, we'd happily use Lane & Holmes for our own sale on the basis of how great they were from our experience as a buyer.

The team at Lane & Holmes have been brilliant in supporting me and my siblings to sell my Mum's flat in Bedford after she died. There were some legal complexities surrounding the sale but the team were always so efficient, helpful, supportive and caring and they were really tenacious in finding us a suitable buyer and getting the sale over the line. Excellent service. I would heartily recommend them if you're selling something in the Bedford area.

I wholly recommend Lane & Holmes to anyone needing to use an Estate Agent. It was my first time of having to sell a property & from the first meeting for a probate valuation with Andrew Willmer through to completion I was promised they would 'hold my hand' for the whole process explaining every step. I was kept informed of all viewings, received feedback from them & was kept updated every step of the way once the sale had been agreed. In this day & age it was great to know that when you phoned or emailed them you would always get a quick friendly response from any of the team. Lane&Holmes worthy of more than 5 ⭐️ s Where can I start.. I am extremely grateful to Lane&Holmes estate agent. I had the pleasure to meet some of the nicest and kindest people who work in the estate agents world. I was blessed to have Nik Kershaw and all his colleagues to deal with, what I would describe a ‘complicated and sensitive’ matter when it came to selling my property because of the severity of the issues involved behind the scene. From the start up until the end Nik and his colleagues have been nothing but superb. They haven’t just provided me with an excellent service but dealt with my situation as a family. They went far and beyond when came to selling my house. Nik took me through every steps, organising presentation of the property, and photographers. They communicated via emails and phones, giving me enough notices in advance when it came to viewing the property. They made sure it suited my needs. They were very respectful and understanding given the circumstances under I was the selling the house (complicated divorce, with ex wife still living in the house). For me, the most important part is their patience with me. Things were getting a little frustrating but they kept their cool. In particular Nik went far beyond just working as an estate agent person. He personally visited me in several occasions and spent awful lot of time discussing, explaining and exploring how we can sell the house. He utilised all his experience and expertise selling the property. He wasn’t just a person working for the estate agent but someone I can call my friend. He helped me at the most difficult and lowest point of my time in this house and made the sale finally go through. He worked immensely and to him I felt it wasn’t just a job but far beyond a job. One example of this.. I recently ruptured my achillies and since been in a boot. Unable to drive or do much without family’s help. Prior to exchanging my contract, Nik took it upon himself to get my solicitor to send contracts over to him so he can print it, drive to my house get me to sign them and post it using special delivery from his own pocket money. Nik recognised and understood how difficult this would’ve been for me, given the fact I was in crutches and I’d struggle get things done, he took it upon him to print and come to me instead and then post it himself. Regardless, of how much the delivery costs was, I was touched by this experience. I Felt he genuinely cared and wanted to get this over the line for me, and not just someone working for the estate agent wanting to pocket their commissions. Given the circumstances I was in, I congratulate Nik and all his colleagues for everything they have done and for selling my house for me. I highly recommend Lane&Holmes Bedford to anyone person, family wishing to sell and or buy properties out there. Regardless of everything they have done, I know I’ve made some great friends in Lane&Holmes, particularly in Nik Kershaw.

Having dealt with countless different estate agents over the years across the country, Lane & Holmes have been the absolute best estate agents we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They were so on the ball and we have no doubt that their prompt responses and persistence were what got this over the line just in the nick of time. Ross & Cathy were on the phone multiple times a day chasing down the solicitors, assisting the elderly sellers with the mass of digital paperwork required and pulling it all together to make sure we moved the date we needed.
