We first used Ross as our estate agent when we sold our first home in 2003 and were so impressed how smoothly the sale went through. We have recently had another property to sell that belonged to my late mother in law . We had no hesitation as to who we would use as an estate agent . Ross came out and valued the property and handled the situation really sensitively . Viewings were notified to ourselves easily via email and text and feedback was provided after each viewing . Kathy was fantastic also dealing with the sale a with a slight hiccup with our solicitors. The sale went through at the beginning of September. All in all a great service was provided by the team and we wouldn't hesitate in using them again should we need in the future. Thank you everyone at Lane and Holmes Bedford.

We recently had an excellent experience selling my parents' home through Lane & Holmes. Nik was our point of contact during the initial selling phase; we had plenty of viewings and were pleased to achieve the full asking price. Cathy took over the process once the sale was agreed and saw it through to completion. Ours was a particularly complex chain, but she remained tenacious, chasing up on all actions, keeping us informed of progress, whilst remaining calm, professional and cheerful throughout! Very happy that we chose Lane & Holmes as our agents for selling dad's house. We mainly dealt with Nik Kershaw who is a consummate professional and clearly highly experienced, but everyone in the office was equally capable, and always knew what was going on with our sale when I rang for an update. The initial marketing of the property was first class, we were kept fully appraised of every viewing and feedback, and Cathy’s sales progression was excellent. I must mention that Nik definitely 'went the extra mile' when it came to finding a new home for mum & dad's piano and arranging for its collection, even when I'd given up and was on the point of arranging a ‘tip trip’. We called Lane & Holmes initially to inquire about selling our apartment in the future. We were in no hurry , but explained we were planning to move abroad permanently. Nik came round and we had a very informal chat, absolutely no pressure and agreed we would call him once we made the decision. At no point did he bother us or try to rush us into a decision. When we were ready, everything happened really smoothly. The photographer Lane& Holmes used was brilliant and the pictures of our place definitely stood out compared to other agents. We had a steady flow of viewings and an offer very quickly. Nik played a big part in negotiating both with us and our buyer . We were able to come to an agreement due to his help. It felt really personal and comfortable. He was always available by phone for any queries, also Cathy. We have now completed without any complications and he was the first to congratulate us by phone. If you’re looking to sell your home, I cannot recommend Lane and Holmes highly enough. From our initial meeting they have been friendly and informative, giving advice whilst respecting our opinions and showing patience as we navigated the selling of our family home. Whilst the ‘pre-offer’ stage is obviously crucial and was handled with integrity and consideration for both us and our viewers/buyers the ‘post offer’ stage is where the action happens and Cathy at L&H has decades of experience navigating the property chain and liaising with the various solicitors. She nudged when necessary, allayed concerns and kept us thoroughly updated along the way. These guys are well established in the Bedfordshire area, know the market and show respect and consideration that you’re making a huge decision to sell or buy your home, often of many years and with many memories. They’re not the flashiest (as in, they don’t wear tight trousers and shoes with no socks!) but they’ve been hugely personable and brilliant in handling the sale of our (and also our buyers) home. Nik has always been incredibly helpful, his communication between ourselves and the sellers has been enthusiastic, polite, encouraging and most importantly extremely efficient throughout the whole process of buying our next property. He helped to negotiate an excellent deal between ourselves and the vendors of the property we are purchasing, he kept everything very friendly whilst remaining professional and we are all super excited about the transaction going ahead, it’s honestly been a pleasure so far! We couldn’t imagine the process of buying our new home being much simpler, and that’s largely due to Nik and his excellent communication with us throughout, and helpful recommendations for other services we would need, such as surveyors in the local area (we are relocating from about 2 hours away so we don’t have any ideas about other services nearby to the property.). It’s honestly been a pleasure to liaise with Nik and the team from Lane and Holmes throughout this whole process, we are really grateful to everyone involved, but particularly Nik of course!
