We have been using the team at Andrews George Street Bath for 12 years as the letting agents for our one-bedroom flat in central Bath. Originally we used them to market the flat, do credit and residency checks, and collect the rent. For the last two years we have been using them to let out the flat on a fully-managed basis. We have always found the team to be very efficient and knowledgeable, keeping us up-to-date on changes to legislation and responding promptly to any problems. In particular, the team has been very well led by Monica Bruton, who has always taken a keen interest in all aspects of managing the property - producing floorplans and photos, marketing, all aspects of finding tenants, and looking after them once they have moved in.

I have now moved on after 8 years and about 20,000 in fees for renting out my house. I am afraid I do not have happy memories and the perfromance of my new agent confirms that I made the right decision. There is a lack of management, the turnover in staff is too high and the response times terrible (in my experience). It was a shame as Andrews did a great job when I bought the house and sold the previous one, but overall - most of the 8 years was negative. I dont like 1 star reviews - it doesnt seem fair - 3 out of 5 is about right.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Maddy Bell during my relocation to Bath, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with the outstanding service I received. From the initial consultation to the finalisation of the rental agreement, she demonstrated a level of professionalism and expertise that truly set her apart. During the process of signing for my new apartment, unforeseen circumstances arose when Maddy, my initial point of contact, fell ill. Dan Weatherhogg then became our point of contact for several days and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth continuation of the process. He also demonstrated a very high level of professionalism and expertise in the entire rental process. Both Maddy and Dan were invaluable in helping me relocate to Bath, if any issues arose they would both go above and beyond to rectify them and they had amazing communication with me. A lot of me couldn’t be bothered to write this complaint but I feel an obligation to. I can’t wrap my head around how Andrews can be this bad as a letting agents. There is a list longer than I care to write but it started the day before we were supposed to move in when we were told we couldn’t as they hadn’t managed to sort out the gas certificate. We had sorted a van etc to move our stuff so cost us a couple of hundred pounds but they really weren’t bothered. When we moved in there was a long list of problems including the bathroom fan not working, our boiler wasn’t working, half the windows wouldn’t stay open, the shower head leaked and more. The bathroom fan got fixed a week before we moved out. So nearly a year later. A lot of the other stuff was never fixed. We had visits from handymen about 12 times over the year with very little ever getting done. The worst problem was our bedroom window broke due to one of the pulley weight things snapping, so was wide open, we emailed and phoned with no response the window ended up being open for a week before anything was done. There is a massive lack of care for tenants and we have heard the same from anyone else using andrews. I had asked to speak to the manager and had a phone call with him and he apologised and said they are really working on their communication, I was naive enough to believe this but the most recent email I have sent over 2 weeks ago has had no response with my girlfriend phoning up again and not getting any answers. I would really urge any landlord to go with any other agents and would urge any tenants to go with any others too. Really was the worst experience I’ve had with any company.
