We found our forever home with Brockenhurst and within 2 weeks we had our house photographed, listed, sold at a good price we were happy with, offer submitted and offer accepted. 2 weeks sounds fast, but the team were so good that we never felt rushed. Kristian led us through all the different considerations and made it so easy. Whenever Kristian was unavailable, Aidan was always around to be just as helpful and professional.
During the legal section, Ashlea was amazing. I genuinely don't think the completion would have gone through before Christmas if it wasn't for the organization and tenacity of Ashlea, who always managed to be cheerful and positive, even when dealing with solicitors on the daily. A very special thank you to her.
I'd happily recommend Brockenhurst and the team for both selling and purchasing a property. The post-sale care and service was excellent.

GoogleExtremely Disappointing Experience with Brockenhurst
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience selling our home with Brockenhurst was overwhelmingly negative, especially after switching to a more reputable local agent and seeing the difference.
Marketing & Communication:
We felt pressured into signing with Brockenhurst, lured by promises of eager buyers and a strong marketing plan. In reality, these claims proved unfounded. The guide price suggested was never realistic, used only to secure our listing, then repeatedly reduced at their suggestion. Updates were rare; we often had to chase for information, only to speak to different staff each time who provided little insight or feedback. Despite high online interest, there was no analysis or advice on why this wasn’t converting to viewings. There was no clear marketing plan beyond the first month, and no proactive strategies to boost our property’s visibility after initial interest faded.
Viewings:
The viewing process was chaotic and unprofessional. This was the bit that was most upsetting and if we didn't have a dog camera and a video doorbell, we would never have known. Different agents attended each time, many unfamiliar with our property and the details we’d provided. Some even gave incorrect information to potential buyers or focused on attempts to poach viewers and list their own homes with Brockenhurst instead of selling ours. Feedback was vague and unhelpful, often giving us false hope, only for us to discover days later that buyers had chosen other properties. The final straw was learning an agent encouraged a buyer to make an offer £100k below our asking price, which was £175k under the original asking price! claiming it was a common tactic, something we found both demoralizing and a waste of everyone’s time.
Contract Terms:
Brockenhurst locked us into an almost six-month exclusivity period, far longer than any other agent we spoke to. This made it difficult to leave, even when it was clear things weren’t working.
Overall:
Throughout, we felt our home was treated as stock, with the focus on buyers (and their commission) rather than supporting us as sellers. Comments made during viewings suggested agents were more interested in promoting other properties than ours.
After Switching Agents:
Once we moved to a more experienced agent, the difference was immediate. We had a dedicated contact, regular feedback, and collaborative marketing. Our home sold within 30 days at a price we were happy with.
Advice:
Don’t be swayed by big promises. Speak to several agents before choosing, and don’t make the mistake we did. Our experience with Brockenhurst was deeply disappointing, and I hope this review helps others avoid similar issues.

It’s important to clarify a few points for balance. There was certainly no pressure to sign with us, we were invited back after our initial meeting to move things forward, and as with all clients, our agreement includes a 14-day cooling-off period should anyone wish to reconsider.
We’re sorry you felt unsupported during the process, as we did provide feedback after viewings and also met together in person to review the marketing and progress of your sale. During that time, we made several proactive changes to the listing, ran targeted social media advertising, and reviewed performance analytics in detail to help guide next steps.
Regarding viewings, we completely agree that consistency and accuracy are important. All team members are fully briefed before attending appointments, and had any concerns been raised at the time, we would have immediately investigated. Almost a year has now passed since we worked together, so it’s difficult to comment on specific recollections, but if any suggestion of a lower offer was made, it would have been purely to gauge buyer motivation rather than to encourage anything unrealistic.
Our agency agreement is 18 weeks in duration, not six months, which is fairly typical for the level of marketing and support we provide, and is always discussed clearly before signing.
We’re disappointed to hear you felt treated as ‘stock’, as that’s certainly not reflective of how we operate or how our many other clients describe their experience. We care deeply about achieving the right outcome for sellers and would encourage anyone reading this to take a look at our broader client feedback, which paints a more accurate picture of our service and approach.
Finally, while we’re pleased to hear your home has now sold, it’s worth noting that this followed a relaunch at a reduced asking price compared to the one agreed during our time marketing the property. Market conditions and timing can make a big difference, and we genuinely wish you all the best with your move.
We understand that selling a home can be stressful, and while it’s disappointing you’ve chosen to share your experience in this way, we’re always open to constructive feedback and remain proud of the care and commitment our team provides every day.

GoogleHarriet and Lillian were great showing us various properties we were considering to buy in South Ham & Brighton Hill.
We weren’t based in Basingstoke so had to travel for the viewings, do not go until you receive a confirmation text and email! There were a few times when we would call up to check it’s still going ahead, they would say we are booked in but on the day driving to the property, it was disorganised as they hadn’t even confirmed with sellers.
However, once we exchanged on a property, Danielle made sure this didn’t happen when we arranged to visit the property to measure up etc, she confirmed with the seller and I received the confirmation whilst still on the phone with her!
We had to cancel some viewings on a day due to car issues, unfortunately no one answered the phone, text or email a couple hours before to let the agent representative know who still turned up.
Also, they use a third party company called Complete ASAP to track the progress - overall, they weren’t very helpful.
Finally, we dealt with Sarah Allen who was great to begin with, she worked past her hours to liaise between us, a counter offerer and the seller on the day we had our offer accepted. Unfortunately, towards the end of our almost 6 month house buying process in a no chain, she stopped replying to our queries and never heard from her again.
Overall, seems they favour sellers over buyers.

GoogleFrom the very first interaction with Sarah I felt that these were the agents for me. I felt so listened too and this was proven when Sarah found our dream home. We were also selling and I was kept updated all throughout the process, the communication and response rate was outstanding (which is what I asked for).
All the team were great but a massive thank you goes to Aidan who was just fantastic; before we went to market we had a number of people lined up to view our property and we received an offer, unfortunately this and a subsequent offer were then withdrawn. Feeling discouraged and worried we would lose our dream home Aidan kept me calm and was just full of positivity and kept me updated every step of the way.
