About Barons Estate Agents Basingstoke

Barons Estate Agents was formed in 1988 by Kevin Penfold & Trevor Lee, with the office being opened in February of that year. That same office is still open and thriving at Winton Square in Basingstoke. Both directors started their career at large independent estate agencies in the early 1980’s, working their way up the career ladder from trainees, to office managers, and finally regional managers. Along the way gaining extensive knowledge of how to deal with a range of properties, people and the ever-changing legal system. Kevin & Trevor met whilst working at Parkers Independent Estate Agency and developed a great working relationship. Parkers was eventually taken over by Legal & General; keen not to enter the corporate environment and all that goes with it, Kevin & Trevor hatched plans to establish a local independent estate agent that would go the extra mile for their clients. Having undertaken extensive market research, they decided that Basingstoke was the place to be. Starting the agency with themselves and two other employees they hit the ground running by selling their first property in Brighton Hill and haven’t looked back since. Throughout the years they have witnessed ever changing market places, large property developments being built and ever-changing regulations and laws. We recently purchased a property through Barons and were extremely impressed with their professionalism and streamlined process. Joanne Hammans, in particular, was instrumental in driving the transaction forward. She consistently checked in with every party in the chain, held everyone accountable, and ensured all deliverables were completed on time without delays. I know Charlie has now left as he helped us by our first place in Basingstoke 5 years ago and last week he came to do a valuation. As a favour even though he 2 days left to work he helped us out and I believe that is what Barons instills in all their staff. So I would recommend them 100% always for local buying and selling!

I dont usualy do reviews but credit where credit is due! Weve been dealing with Trevor and i would quite happily buy this man a pint anyday of the week! Although working on behalf of our vendors primarily, we had a lovely experience buying our first home through Barons. The interactions we had when viewing were lovely, totally honest with the houses and not pushy like other estate agents. We saw the same person at multiple viewings and it was lovely as he remembered who we were. Even gave me a wave and said hello when I picked up the keys! When making officers, we spoke with Patrick who was great at communicating through our channel of choice, keeping me up to date with what was happening. Then working with Charlie who was professional throughout and adaptive to give me what I needed, whether that be a kick up the backside or just to reassure me. I went through a lot of personal stress during the purchase which could have lead to disaster but Charlie's professionalism, efficiency and brilliant listening skills saw us through. Barons will definitely be our first point of call when we decide its time to move on!

We found Liam’s approach professional, courteous and his friendly manner is lovely & not your typical ‘estate agent’.
