25th August, 2021: Apart from not providing necessary maintenance in a timely fashion to the property due to a leaking roof, which led to a much more expensive fix for the property owner, when my son moved out they made no attempt to pay him back his deposit or the overpaid advanced rent. Repeated attempts to obtain the money were met with stories and blaming everyone and everything other than returning the funds with promises to fix it, escalate it etc. After 5 months of giving us the runaround we ended up having to go through the Property Ombudsman to get it resolved. Update 16th September 2021: As of today, Gascoigne Pees are offering to short pay the advanced rent and have told the Ombudsman that the deposit has been returned, which it hasn't. This company employs liars, cheats and the morally & ethically bankrupt. Don't use them either as property managers or as landlords. Update, 12th October 2021, Gascoigne Pees have still not returned the deposit and short paid (less than 50%) the advanced rent with no explanation. They have lied to the Ombudsman and are still ignoring their legal responsibilities. There is currently no resolution in site…Update: January 2nd 2022 - The Property Ombudsman is about to decide on the arbitration, but Gascoigne Pees still owe over £1,000 and don't even seem to recognize that they owe anything. Unbelievable - we'll see how this ends up now that GP has provided TPO with their "Final Position" statement, which admits failures in dealing with the situation, but still doesn't account for the missing funds.

GoogleWe have recently bought and sold through Gascoigne Pees and they have been brilliant and supportive throughout a protracted and often tortuous process thanks to a very slow probate application and a number of tyre kickers posing as bonafide buyers. Jim, Kim and Nic were utterly brilliant and we would absolutely recommend anyone to sell and/or buy through them. Thanks, guys!

We have put an offer in on a different property than the one we saw but that is no reflection on Martina. We wish the property we have offered on was being sold by her! Great experience from the start, Martina was professional, engaging and personable.

GoogleI would like to take this opportunity to say an immense thank you to Chandon for her great help with arranging our viewing and the support extended to get our property. She has been so kind , helpful and always very quick to respond to any questions I had and to try and help anyway possible at all times. Chandon and everyone at the office have always been very helpful during these difficult times . It’s quite a stressful process but when your Lettings agent is supportive then half the battle is won. After agreeing for this property I went and viewed another better and a more Beautiful property but due to the helpful , kind and supportive way Chandon dealt with me while I was at work I could not let her down at all Therefore went ahead with the property. This shows the importance and the Efficiency of communication, Support extended which goes a long way . Thank you very much Chandon and your team for your Help and Support !!!

Google2 years ago I moved to england and Since we are new in 2 years, I talked to almost most agencies but I have never come across an agency that is as excellent as helpful as Gascoigne-Pees. I got the luck to work with Gascoigne-Pees and also Carly Byrne. I say luck because if you stumble upon Carly Byrne.You are incredibly lucky.She's always listening and doing her best to help you.She'll come back to you on everything and She is very fast in the process.Carly and her agency continue to care with you after the rental process is finished.I would like to thank Carly in this process.5 stars is less for her, I would give you 10 stars or more :):) She is a perfect :) If you want to spend the rental process quickly and smoothly, I recommend working with Gascoigne-Pees especially with Carly :)PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleI have recently used Gascoigne-Pees to move into a new place and was helped by a Chandon Bell. Chandon was very quick to reply, very thorough with the contracts and was pivotal in arranging a no deposit option. The system was clear and all details were explained by a very calm and polite Chandon which made this move far less stressful than previous ones. Quite frankly, the house sold itself, but I’d still like to shout out thanks to Connor for helping to get me in a good position to make the purchase.

GoogleNic and Martina were hugely helpful in the sale of my apartment. Despite it being a difficult market for flats, they were able to find us a buyer within a week. They were prompt in their communications and were always keen to give us advice on our potential onward purchases even when it was listed with other agents. If you are thinking of selling I would absolutely recommend Gascoigne Pees.

I cannot recommend Gascoigne-Pees, Leatherhead branch, after six months I am convinced that they were the wrong choice to sell my property. I definitely did not feel valued. When I decided to end the Agency Agreement, on 28/11/2024, I was completely ignored. After two visits to the branch I managed to get an acknowledgement. However, on the second visit (19/12/2024), the Assistant Branch Manager, was completely unapologetic. In my opinion his manner was offensive, rude and unprofessional. I left the office feeling very upset and physically shaken. I have awarded them one star for the fact, that I did receive an apology from their Customer Relations Officer.

GoogleI saw this property up to let about a month ago and decided I liked it. I sent an email to Gascoigne-Pees and said could I arrange a viewing. Only 40 minutes later Richard phoned me up and arranged to meet at the address the following afternoon! What a bonus that was, and what a great guy Richard was as well! We got on famously and after showing me the property I decided it was the one for me. Things quickly got into gear and I was extremely fortunate to be working with, what I would describe as as star employee Gemma! Well, what luck I was having! It's all gone very smoothly indeed and I can only put that down to the professional and courteous way I was treated by Richard and Gemma - because with all honesty I hadn't a clue what I needed to do. Thank you very much Gascoigne-Pees ( Richard and Gemma) for making this move easy and a pleasure, for, what can often be a difficult and stress induced process! You're both a credit to the company you work for and an asset as well! Many thanks indeed! If anyone is moving house I hope you get the team I did!! To sum up : no complaints what so ever, courteous, professional and basically what an employer wants from their staff and more!

GoogleCertainly won't be using Gascoigne-Pees again any time soon. Moved into a rented fully furnished flat and had problems from day 1. It took so long for repairs to get sorted. Had issues with the neighbours and seemed that nothing was being done or even communicated to my landlord despite the police being involved! It took 2 police visits and far too many calls to both Gascoigne-Pees before anyone took me seriously. Took a long time for them to find a new tenant so we could leave. We gave nearly 4 months notice and asked for our agreement to be terminated early, despite this it took 3 for them to find someone to take the flat and would only terminate the agreement when they had found a new tenant. There were so many "viewings" that never happened, many of them weren't even cancelled. On one of them the rep showing the prospective tenants around went to the wrong flat and then moaned because I wasn't in. He also didn't seem to have a clue what came with the flat which was incredibly unprofessional. Luckily in the end our tenancy was terminated a month early because I couldn't tolerate that much longer.

Communication was excellent throughout the whole process of selling our house and we were informed how it was progressing on a regular basis. Jim Gordon, Kim and Martina were superb and a real pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this company and would certainly use them again.

These estate agents downright lied to us before moving in about what came with the flat and throughout continued to lie about the interactions we had. Their complaints process is as useless as they are and I'm convinced is completely biased towards the estate agents. They are criminal - do not go anywhere near.

GoogleUnfortunately my entire experience of purchasing a property with Gascoigne Pees in Basingstoke has been a very poor experience and I will be sure never to use them again. They advertised the property as having no-chain, not only on the listing, but also in person when showing me round, which obviously made it very appealing. The first agent to show me around was Emily who admitted that she had just come back from holiday and knew nothing about the property... not a great start and very unprofessional, however the owner of the house had taken such care in providing detailed information that it sparked an interest. On returning to the property we saw a new agent James who knew an awful lot more than Emily, however didn't convince me enough to purchase. On the third visit, we were lucky enough to meet the seller of the property and she absolutely is the only reason we bought this property. She took care in showing us everything and it was obvious that she had put a lot of love into the house. We then started the purchasing process and made our feelings clear of when we would need to complete due to our jobs and giving notice on our current rented property. Although there was some (expected) push back, there was never any real issues, until we were bombarded with correspondence from Andrew who persisted to tell us that there was in fact a chain on the property and that we must complete when told or our sellers property would fall through and to think of our sellers health as it isn't very good. This is completely unacceptable, as it is not only false advertising but also emotional blackmail. We of course rushed through the process, as our seller had been so wonderful throughout the process, much to the delight of the Gascoigne Pees team as they received their commission without having to do any real work. The only thing we asked for, was that a member of the team meet us at the property so we could check it over quickly before accepting the keys, it was suggested by Andrew Blake that James could do this and so James agreed. We waited to have a confirmed time that he would meet us at the property, as we had taken a day of annual leave especially, organised moving vans etc and on the day of our completion, we still hadn't heard anything, we phoned and were told that James would get back to us... he did, to tell us he was too busy and that we would have to get the keys from the store. The service they provided was dismal and I will be sure to let everyone I ever meet know not to use them. It's a shame that I have to give them 1 star, I wish there was an option for 0.

GoogleWe were the buyers for a property being sold with G & P. We were unfortunate enough to have a bad experience with our solicitors, but we are so grateful that G & P’s were on the ball and always at the end of the phone to help smooth things over. Without fail, they would always return calls, reply to emails and were very attentive with any question we had. We would like to say a special thank you to Jim who was dealing with the property, who was always so calm, so polite, and just generally a really nice person! Jim was so easy to deal with and on the ball, without him I fear the sale would have fallen through. When it comes to selling our current property, we will 100% go through G & P. I’d also like to thank the office, as the lady we often spoke to on the phone was really friendly and without fail always passed our messages on. Thank you again, from two very happy first time buyers (Nicola and Jay).
