My advice for anyone looking to sell their property is to choose anyone else in the Basildon Area than Douglas Allan. We were not in a rush to sell our property, and of course, the market has been challenging right now, however, we did expect a partnership with an Estate Agency that we would be working together us throughout this - this did not happen and was the worse service we have ever experienced with an Estate Agency During our initial meeting, Lucy was very positive, telling us how she would be in contact touch with us and how experienced they are in the area. However, other than the first week or two, we never heard from her again. Louise was also great to work with for a week or two but then she also disappeared. There were constantly bad communication and organisation issues (cancelling appointments, the agents doing the viewing unable to access email so unprepared for last minute changes, not giving us feedback or the feedback they gave being so basic it added no value to either of us, not providing any advice around the value of the property or how we could get more interest, on one occasion we had someone turn up to our property early and we were not told - neither was the agent showing them around due to the lack of email... this didn't leave anyone looking good, in another occasion they even left two potential buyers on the door as the sales agent never arrived to the appointment and they didn't let them know as they do not have a phone). They are more expensive than any other Estate Agency in the area, and in my experience, the service is horrible. They also sent potential clients whose requirements didn't match the property's characteristics. We have lost time and money as we have needed to reduce the property's price as the market is going down; they provided analytics of what they do to help find potential people to come around and for many weeks, we saw them doing nothing and just sitting on it. Towards the end of our time with them, they even told us we were "old stock" due to them not being able to sell it for six months so they usually get more traffic on new properties implying they spend more time on new properties, which also explained we were seeing less and less people come around each week and communication was getting worse and worse

We have dealt with a few estate agents over the years and Douglas Allen Basildon have been by far the worst. Communication was dire; apart from Luke Minors (who has now left) who did make some effort to let us know the outcome of some viewings; but it was us who had to telephone the office to find out what the outcome was. A lot of the time we got put through to their central team and was told that someone from the office would call us back and most of the time this did not happen. Staff, including the Manager just don’t seem to know what they are doing which was extremely frustrating. We would never sell or buy using Douglas Allen again. We are now with different estate agents and communication has been excellent so far. We would not recommend Douglas Allen to anyone.

Worst company I have had to interact with. Have felt harassed by them. At no point did we agree that we would use them to facilitate the sale of my mum's house. For the past three months they have been calling and chasing my mum up to get the process started. Each time I have informed them that my mum is in hospital and we would not be moving forward for now and that I would contact when we do decide to move forward. Even after I had blocked their number they circumvented this by calling from their Gillingham office. Will never be using their services.

Brilliant! We found out we had to move just as lockdown and restriction were lifting, and of course at this time it was difficult. There was nothing on the market at this point and we were searching for 3 weeks straight and getting no where. I had called so many agents and no luck so far, I then decided to try and go in person as at this point it became very stressful. I had been to 5 different agents on the same day and the only agent who came out of the building to speak/help me was Douglas Allen. Nathan had gave me some reassurance and had explained they will support in any way while taking my details and preferences. Within a week we recieved a property to view and from there on he had been so helpful. Any emails were replied to straight away, or queries and questions were followed up for us. Me and my friend May are newly hired nurses for the nhs, who just arrived here in UK 2 months ago (from philippines) and the struggle for finding a new home is so challenging and stressful.We spent hours and hours browsing the internet and we even tried viewing several flats but of no hope. It can either be too expensive but does't justify or cheaper but not that comfortable to live in. Until we able to see post from zoopla from Douglas Allen apartment in Chadwell. We were so amazed by the looks of the apartment and the price is i believe reasonable and right there and then we contacted the number and spoke to Mr Nathan Davis, he immediately schedule viewing for us the same day (afternoon), we were so excited. And immediately we visited the place and it even surpassed our expectation. We immediately confirmed to Nathan our interest in taking the place. June 7, 2021 we already transfered to the apartment or should I say "our new home".
