Beware if you intend buying through Webbers. They seem quite happy to let the Vendor get you all the way through searches and surveys and then allow the vendor to pull out only to let them re-introduce the property at an increased value a month or two later - leaving you picking up all the expenses. Oh! and if you challenge them it’s always the vendors choice/responsibility!!!! They don’t seem to mind picking up the extra fee though.

Please be careful when you using Webbers Letting agency in Bideford.
We were very good tenants for nearly 2 years and when we moved out, the Manager from this branch threatened us with court cases and legal battles to retain full costs for decoration of a property that had fair, wear and tear over the years. We brought up several notifications warning of damp pillars on the roof, leaked bath through the floors and carpets which were outdated. This is the tip of the iceberg.
We suggested to meet half way in terms of costs, but he wouldn't have it and threatened again with legal proceedings. We were left in a corner requiring our deposit back, as we had just had twin girls so the deposit was urgently required to purchase equipment for our babies.
His emails we received from him were devastating and shocking to say the least and felt cornered to pay the full sum of money. I have never experienced such forcefulness and there was no integrity with this situation. Please do avoid and be careful.

GoogleUnfortunately we bought our house through Webbers. This company are the most awful bunch of liers and decietful people I have ever encountered. Webbers told us that we were able to buy an 8 acre field adjacent to the house. We let another property go that we were supposed to be buying based on this lie, only to be told a week later that the field sadly wasnt for sale, but Webbers assured and promised us that we could rent it. Based on this assumption to rent the land, we continued the process of buying this house but were utterly disappointed that we would now be renting and not buying the field.
A week before we were due to exchange I visited the neighbours to meet them and discuss the rental of the 8 acre field. They were utterly mortified and told me that they had never agreed to rent the field, let alone sell it.. they informed me of numerous covenants on the land, in fact an 8 page contract, that were never disclosed to us by Webbers. I had a massive arguement with Christine at Webbers, I couldnt believe how dishonest they had been, never disclosing any of this info until I had found it out for myself. We renegotiated a heavily reduced price and continued to buy the house, as we were so near to the completion date and we didnt want to lose the sale of our property that we were moving from. I could never recommend this awful company, they made me ill with stress, I had the emergency ambulance out for stress related illness.

Be very very careful when reading your contract, especially the tie in period. Very poor service and consistant lack of communication. When you cancel the contract you are awarded a letter containing a very extensive list of names they had introduced to the property. It seems their sales tactic is to get other agents to sell the property for them.

GoogleWebbers were enlisted to sell a no chain bungalow in July 2019. It sold within days of going on the market. Sale fell through in September as buyer didnt have sufficient funds & it took 3 months for Webbers to find this out?
Sold again for asking price also fairly quickly after initial sale collapse. Sale fell through in February 2020 - 5+ months after offer was accepted.
If you really want to complete a sale i wouldn’t recommend Webbers.
UPDATE : ITS TAKEN 8 MONTHS FOR WEBBERS TO RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL ......

They falsely describe property, in terms of its age and the specific conditions of sale, and when you get their agreement to the fact that they are doing so; they say they are going to change the wording in their marketing brochure - amd one assumes online also ... but they never do! In my latest contact with them this month where they were to complete a “check out” followed by a “check in” for the same property the service worked well.
This process was completely smooth and I now have new tenants and the security of a concise inventory report.
I would recommend them in the future for other landlords.
