If possible I would give minus five stars!!! Martin&co letting unit in Banbury cost me great stress. Lack of any professionalism. Not answer emails and reports. Sending the bad contracts even after let them know it's wrong one. Then took six months to get it right, after which you must sign six months back. Pathetic!!! Have no respect for one's privacy at all. BEWARE of unannounced visits and catch you IN THE SHOWER!!! When you cross the company threshold: No way for a private face-to-face conversation, just big chaos with no chance to be heard. Rude behavior, and lack of any compromise. The tenant is always wrong. You are just number and a loser at the entrance. That's how I was feel every time at them office. However they are very professional in reaching out for funds and lying about tenants to the landlords Like: it's mess, badly smell, have zoo indoors, vermin and a lots more. Shortly say's, you're not looking after the house. Shame on you. Pathetic again!!! Good advice to all Recommended escape when you see this unit in Banbury. Totally horrible experience.

Shocking. They are compulsive liars. I left this property and they charged me £600 for damage to walls, painting needed to be done, 6 light bulbs need to be replaced, the whole flat needed to be cleaned. I paid a professional company to clean the flat for end of tenancy and the estate agent told me “it wasn’t a good clean”. I just went to the property to speak with the new tenant and none of the above has been completed. You are charging people for stuff that doesn’t get repaired. The inventory check in is the same condition as when I checked out. They are very rude and patronising. Edit: a lovely lady phoned me from the company asked me if I would remove my review on Facebook and they will refund me the money. So they admit they have treated me unethically - I have chose to not remove this review as I am entitled to leave a review on my experience and I should not be bribed to remove my review in return for my money back. I will take this further and I hope that anyone who is or has rented using this company should check their inventory checkout as they are charging people for “damages” which never get repaired. Edit: finally after a few months the DPS have reviewed all evidence and released £550 of my deposit. They agreed that Martin & Co could not take all of my money as it wasn’t lawful. Shame on them.

As a new landlord Martin & Co have been excellent in helping to identify the properties to purchase in Banbury and providing guidance on the level of works to be undertaken to improve them. Both properties were let within a very short period of time with quality tenants. Some initial accounting admin reporting errors have now been sorted. I would have no issue in recommending David and the team to any new landlord looking to let property in Banbury and the surrounding area.

Martin and Co were genuinely superb. We dealt with Tom and Lu. Both were incredible. Lovely, supportive professionals who kept us in the loop about anything and everything with regards to the sale of our flat. When the time comes, I would happily sell my next property with Martin and Co again. They seemed to know more about the process than our solicitors who were not great. But Martin and Co have been excellent.

In the past I have had issues with communication and rude staff. Since lockdown, however, and what seems like some staff changes, there has been an incredible improvement. Such a scam of a business, I have been threatened by them with legal consequences if I didn't pay the rent to them when the landlord told me not to pay them anymore, apparently they wanted me to pay them so they can take the rent for themselves, what a joke. My first renting experience was with this company.When I had one of the worst things that can go wrong with a property go wrong, Martin & Co. provided no alternative accommodation for me.In November of 2022, my cold water supply was turned off without any warning whatsoever.It turned out that a "local" Polish builder named Micjhal had turned off his and my water supply in the process of renovating his property.After I spoke with Martin & Co and we had established what the cause of the water stoppage was, they didn't offer me alternative accommodation, nor did they offer a supply of drinking water. Thames water kindly did provide me with bottled drinking water. (When the water was turned off, I had no idea why, and as part of the process of finding the cause I had to call Thames Water, who kindly attended my flat to investigate.)This saga (no cold running water) went on for 12 days. I had to shower at my gym, visit a laundrette to do laundry, and buy bottled water to use for cooking and drinking.I managed to negotiate a months rent reimbursement, however that would not have even covered a 12 night stay in an hotel, so I had to continue to stay at the flat with no cold running water...Obviously, this year, 2023, when my tenancy was up for renewal I couldn't wait to get out of that horrible flat.But even that came with a final battle between myself and Martin& Co.Basically they made a lot of allegations about the condition of the flat. Those allegations were later disproved by the DPS claims dispute process. Martin & Co lost the dispute and they didn't receive the disputed amount.It was a small Victory for myself, but it highlighted to me the importance of taking photos of the property before vacating. Thankfully, I took lots of photos.My advice to anyone renting from Martin & Co. Is to clean the property before vacating and take lots of pictures. I would also actually recommend taking photos at check-in when you initially receive the keys to the property.I must also mention how on one occasion my flat was viewed without my permission. I found this out from my neighbour, and because the viewer/agent of my flat had turned off an appliance that was otherwise always left on.There are two good things I can say about Martin & Co: they did facilitate me negotiating a more realistic rent between myself and my landlord in 2022, before the water stoppage incident; and they were reasonably responsive when I needed a reference for my new landlord.Plus, they could have just decided not to renew my tenancy in 2022, so credit should be given where it is due.However, I do not recommend Martin & Co. Banbury.
