A few years ago we decided to move, with our business (in the Meetings&Events industry), away from the direct London area. The decision to choose Banbury was a combination of nearness to work with suppliers in London, to find inspirational new venues, lower costs and a good quality of life! It became a tough task, as places and properties we found, were either too expensive for our budget or in areas less attractive. Early 2016 we met a representative for Keepers Finders in Banbury, who understood what we were looking for. She (Celia Howells) made us feeling very welcome and made us express what we were really aiming to find. When we opened the door to the house we are now renting and said, “This is it”, it had been a long journey. Keepers Finders are keeping a high level of service and as tenants we feel well cared for. We were recommended Finders Keepers the area as a one where we would feel at home- that is exactly what we do and thanks to Finders Keepers.

Finder and Keepers managed property we rented for nearly 2 years. We felt, staff have been friendly from the start and really helpful at times when you are in-need. Paperwork is more efficient than elsewhere. We recently moved out of Banbury, our checkout process was effortless and duly handled by Rebecca Woods. Rebecca, Your support is greatly appreciated and is very kind of you. Thank you ever so much, You are a STAR. I highly recommend Finders and Keepers if you are renting in Banbury, better than ones I have dealt in the past.

Poor experience - unhelpful response

Its very difficult for us to give this review but its important to reflect the experience. I was happy with the service up to now but recent experience has been disappointment. They use one size fits all approach. We contacted them regarding the leakage issue in the kitchen on Friday around 17:00 and their response after number of questions is that its not classed as an emergency so we have to wait till Monday. I requested that we have young kids and please consider this, although output is same - unhelpful. They will contact multiple times on phone for rents but won't even take effort to follow up about the issues. We highlighted issues in the property during their visit, they took photo but not follow up. I gave them benefit of doubt up to now but looks like this was not the case. Please be careful when dealing with Finders Keepers as tenants.

Would recommend agent Abi Clinkard, who was informative, honest, and patient with our useless following of simple directions! Sadly the properties weren’t quite what we were looking for, but Abi was prompt with follow up, and seemed happy to help at every stage of the process. I was so well looked after by Padraig from Finders Keepers Banbury. I saw a flat advertised that I loved but wasn’t sure I could face the stairs. His knowledge of his inventory meant he knew the perfect flat for me, whose lease was due to end. I was so confident with his knowledge of the property and the video he kindly made and sent to me (as I was 100 miles away and unable to be the first scheduled viewing) that I contracted there and then. Now I am in, the management side is equally as helpful and professional.

Poor care, attention and timeliness

It's unfortunate I'm having to give this rating, but I think it's important to share for future landlords (and tenants). Ignore all the good reviews from years ago - back in 2018 I had a good experience, but that is not the same case with current team so beware. The tenants messaged me a lot to say they were unhappy during their time, but in all honesty I trusted FK and stayed with them. But when the tenants left (and did not leave everything in a good way), FK did not do an adequate check out in my opinion. They didn't share the report with me. They gave the tenants their deposit back and have not fixed the faults now as their responsibilty. I now have to repaint rooms in my house, accept some broken fixtures and make good areas that have been poorly maintained. I'm not sure what exactly the 10% fee was each month or the fees to manage the contract. Responses took forever and then them forgetting what they said on the last call. Really really shocking, I couldn't possibly recommend with the current team in place.

I have used Finders Keepers in Banbury as my letting agent for about 20 years. Over that time, I have got to know many of their property managers well. Any rental property will experience some challenging times as well as trouble-free but in all dealings with the company, (which itself has gone through changes), the property managers do their utmost to provide a good service. Rebecca has been especially good with communication and advice.

Safeguarding Neglect & Failure to Keep Proper Records

Safeguarding neglect: Allowing contractors to access rental property without properly notifying tenants. In one case a female tenant (student, early 20's) was alone in the property and exited her bedroom to discover a complete stranger (male) standing in the hallway - this turned out to be a contractor who had been given access to the property by FK. Failure to keep proper records and to update paperwork correctly: Incorrectly advising tenants of their monthly direct debits causing a deficit to be allowed to accumulate over several months before correction was made and demand for recompense. When complaints are/were made they are/were met with a level of arrogant defensiveness that is/was unprofessional.

A crime! as the company name suggests. I just can not get how a company in a country so regulated like the UK can get on with this way to make business. I felt like trapped by a mafia style way of exploiting tenants and taking advantage of their vulnerabilities. Very traumatising experience renting a flat with this company.

An emergency number they will never answer, repeated changes to your point of contact that will never be communicated. Not to mention an inability to mange the landlord, meaning you will continually have poor quality fittings malfunction and not be replaced for long periods of time. Avoid at all costs. Response to Finders Keepers: the emergency is a leak and it is almost 2pm and you have yet to have anyone visit. Not to mention countless issues in the past.
