If I could leave zero I would
If I could leave zero I would! We recently moved into a rental properrenting threw these cowboys! We've had nothing but problems, first no gas safety checks were conducted, major leak happened from bathroom to the kitchen leaving us with no power, could we get hold of anyone? No! We are left with major damage to our belongings and currently looking for somewhere else to move to! I also feel fro the landlord are they aware that this property is managed by such con artists!

Contract Should Be Illegal
I could write an essay on how bad this company is. Essentially once you sign the contract, you have 14 days under law to cancel, but after that period you have to give them their money. They were badgering me to get my flat on sale for a holiday period, and then they missed the holiday period with their sales event to get it online. Said it would have taken x3 weeks to take the photos and get it online. So I said give me back the keys, as I want to do some extra bits (new hob, lights, breakfast bar). Then I went to purple Bricks who had it online in 2 days, and told Bairstow Eves "I don't care if I have to pay you, I want nothing more to do with you". And complained. So their internal complaints service decided that it was my fault it wasn't online in time because I was holding it up by doing extra work. Even though I had the emails proving the opposite. So then I went to the Ombudsman just to waste more time, and asked them a simple question "When does the contract end?" To which they replied "We can't tell you because we're not legally trained". Then they sent me the code of conduct that the Ombudsman writes which is the legal framework that estate agents write their contracts against. And Bairstow Eves sent an illegible page in response, and said if I signed it I should understand it. So if they (all parties) can't answer a simple question like that, how are members of the public meant to have a full understanding of it? Especially when it mentions duration of the contract is in section 3 (of the estate agent's contract) - then you look for it and it goes: section 1,2,4,5,6,7,8.The bottom line is - they get your signature, and then they can go golfing or whatever else they get up to, and they're legally entitled under British law to their money once you sell with another agent, or find a buyer.* And everything else that's meant to represent consumer rights is a farce. *In terms of finding the buyer: they say they've always got people on the books even before it goes online. That even when another agent finds a buyer, it was them. That they might have told a spouse or sibling who informed your buyer. That if you find a buyer yourself and don't use another agent for two years, there's no way of proving it was you that found them, but the marketing period is indefinite. Even if the contract states the marketing period is for 5 months or so, it will still state it's indefinite at the same time, and they state that from the moment you've signed they've already got interested parties. Etc, etc.

Bairstow eves lettings Romford
Bairstow eves lettings Romford - never do any business with them. They have been charging huge fees from landlords and never return call or email. We have also complained to Customer care team 4 weeks back and there has been no progress in our complaint. The have charged us for annual renewal fee that was not included in the contract and inspite of multiple calls and emails we havent been refunded (all proof emailed to the team multiple times). None of the staff members are professional and inspite of multiple emails and calls we get informed that their manager will call us and they dont know anything about the matter.

We use Bairstow Eves letting team to manage our properties. We have always found them professional and approachable and they deal with everything promptly. We have had experience with a different Leading agent in the area and found them to fall very short of the mark. Would highly recommend Bairstow Eves.
Thank you for your amazing 5* review and kind words of our dedicated team. It is great to see that you would recommend them. Kind regards, Lucy, Customer Relations.

Bairstow eves Bow branch etc
Bairstow eves Bow branch etc. Called me back but because I was unable to secure the rented property within 6 days Failed to email me the property information that I requested. Failed to reply to my Whatsapp messages for a whole 4 days and have refused to explain why the property /properties is still advertised on EVERY search engine. Failed to explain why its being let at a different price and have blocked me from whatsapp. Just had an incoming call but they hung up before I could even pick up the phone that is sitting right next to me. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Alan Harvey at Bairstow eves. Zero customer service skills

The agents are nice
The agents are nice, but unfortunately they are capable of lowering the property's price. Despite assurances that the price is final, you shouldn't trust them. I do not recommend.

No care
They donβt care about the state of the properties they rent out . They just want to get paid , keep the owner of the house happy . No rights for tenants , even if you have 6 kids they will serve you a section 21 after living in rubbish conditions and asking for it to be sorted . Minus 5 stars

This is more of a review on the stateβ¦
This is more of a review on the state of estate agencies and their model in the UK - and Bairstow Eves is a great example.I have been a tenant with them for + 1 year. This is the experience:- Something needs to be fixed +10 days and 20 emails to progress- You need to inform them on a matter +5 emails til they get it right- You need to warn new tenants on a roof repair: the agent doing the viewing has no clue on the property he is showing, no one cares- You need to check out on the property: they ask you on a number of missing items / changes to the flat you had already communicated eons ego- You need your deposit back : + 10 calls and 8 emails and no response People are unable to progress and work efficiently as everyone is an intermediary. You need a repair, 3 third parties and platforms. You need your deposit back, contact these 2 other teams. The industry is full of intermediaries and every single touchpoint is a pain for the customer - everyone forwarding an email. The business that solves for this will change the industry.

Bairstoweves Purley the worst
With few words and sorry for the grammar mistakes DO NOT USE Bairstoweves in Purley at least this lettings office because is the one I know better than anyone. If you read my review I will save you money, stress and time...Perfect experience from their lettings negotiator Ivaylo and warm welcoming from Julie Goddard their Lettings manager until they give you the house keys and take deposit and rent, after that moment I realized that was "too good to be true", never responded again in our repair requests as should with the excuse of no response of the landlord. Finally the Landlord served us with Eviction notice 2 months ago and we moved in a new place .Unprofessional staff 100%,I bet that they are under-educated too for the role and this is the excuse I give them of handling bad the customer service. After 2 months stress and the compensation disrepair and fight over emails, they refunded Β£100 as goodwill. And the cherry in the cake is we have to fight to get our deposit back because trying to find excuses not to give it back. This is a lesson that never again deal with Lettings agency.

Very disappointed with the "service"β¦
Very disappointed with the "service" they gave to my elderly parents. They talked a good talk to get their sale but their service has been non existent. They pressured my parents into using their solicitors and I had to contact them to remind them that any instructions must come through me. They said they would mailshot properties for my parents to buy but no evidence of this. They had 3 offers during the first weekend of advertising the property and then immediately removed it from the website even though it was offers over. Absolutely no contact from the agents. Appalling service from start to finish. Very disappointed.
